Do not tempt me! If only I get can a better used board rather than a generic one
-
Interesting to find a x79 huanan build here. I do have a couple of xeon E5620 and RAM sticks lying around and is looking at some of the LGA1366 generic boards at Aliexpress.
-
I think it is more correct to use I2c kext together with either hid or elan. Not all 3.
-
Just needed to block lilu on reboot and installation will proceed

[ref]broadw3ll[/ref], try with older version of voodooI2C kext might help. I am using version 2.0.2

1. Run Script. Rebuild permissions and cache. 2. Checked input with default working Layout ID 27. Line in and internal mic not activated. 3. Reboot. 4. Line in and internal mic not activated. 1. Replaced new AppleALC kext. Changed Layout ID 3 2. Run Script. Rebuild permissions and cache. 3. Checked input - Line in input missing in sound preference - Internal mic not activated. 4. Reboot. 5. Checked input with similar results. Maybe I should troubleshoot by testing all layout ID available for the codec? But, that will take some time and I hope that is not necessary * I can test one layout id a day Edit: Changed Layout ID to 27 with your provided kext brings back line in input slider. Repeat installation steps. Still no luck. -

[GUIDE] How to Activate Microphone on Conexant Codecs and others.

This is what I get if I run Jack_fix without hda verb in /usr/bin MacBook-Pro:~ vn7-592g$ /Users/vn7-592g/Desktop/Jack\ fix install /Users/vn7-592g/Desktop/Jack fix: line 2: hda-verb: command not found /Users/vn7-592g/Desktop/Jack fix: line 3: hda-verb: command not found Done Attached is the codec dump. onemanosx ALC255 codec.zip -
[ref]broadw3ll[/ref], As means of troubleshooting, please read the documentation on satellite kext. This is as important on user end to test different kext configuration aside from DSDT patching. Also, it helps to rebuild permissions and cache and reboot 2nd time. https://voodooi2c.github.io/#Satellite%20Kexts/Satellite%20Kexts

[GUIDE] How to Activate Microphone on Conexant Codecs and others.

[ref]Mirone[/ref], Let me run through what I did. 1. copy hda verb to usr/bin <--- without this file in bin I am not able to execute the install command 2. Copy codec commander to clover/kexts/other 3. This is how I did the install command (please correct me if I am wrong here) MacBook-Pro:~ vn7-592g$ /Users/vn7-592g/Desktop/Jack\ fix install nid = 0x19, verb = 0x707, param = 0x25 command 0x01970725 --> result = 0x00000000 nid = 0x21, verb = 0x708, param = 0x83 command 0x02170883 --> result = 0x00000000 Done 4. Rebuild permission and cache. However, it doesnt work with the jack_fix file from Elitemacx86 (my laptop uses ALC255). If the above procedures are correct, then I may need to dig deeper by modifying Jack_fix file (or should I try other layout id?). And this is where I am stumped. I do have my codec dump from linux but I do not know how to proceed from here. Edit: I am using AppleALC+Lilu Your guidance is appreciated. -
Go to windows device manager and look for the device. Edit: If you had done the windows patch to your DSDT, its expected to see the device in ioreg. Edit 2: Pass a copy of your IOREG. Seems like our good friend Mald0n had already did the Windows 10 patch. It could be under a different name.

[ref]simo241[/ref], Your USB C and type A is at RP05 (Asmedia chipset). Please check with manufacturer's documentation if this is true. USB headers are a little finicky in getting them detected properly (at least, for me it is). As for the rest, if all of your built in ports are detected, its ok to have only 13 ports shown and not necessarily to be 15 ports. Sorry, I am not able to assist further other than this current knowledge that I have.

Guide Gigabyte Z68A-D3H-B3 (High Sierra 10.13.6)

SSDT for EHxx & xHci devices I know this is long overdue and that I no longer using this build specifically. But, recently I helped another hackintosher to work on his USB ports. I do not know what board he used, but looking at the ioreg and DSDT table, I knew he used an old generation build similar to mine. The build includes a. USB 2.0 bus named EH01 and EH02 b. xhc VIA chipset USB 3.0 Since, his total xhc USB ports are less than Apple's 15 ports limitation, his build do not require the use of kext to patch at all. This is also a similar scenario for my board. But, his USB 3.0 although unsupported by usbinjectall will not work at full speed without the aforementioned kext. Lets deal with his EH0x USB 2.0 bus first. 1. Renaming EHC1 to EH01 and EHC2 to EH01 This can be done in clover hot patch if DSDT tables uses EHCx instead of Apple's EH0x. 2. Details of EH01/EH02 ports in IOREG He mentioned he'd like to eliminate the rest of the ports except the ones he used i.e PR11 and PR21. This is a simple solution by using an SSDT as below. DefinitionBlock ("", "SSDT", 1, "APPLE", "hack", 0x00000045) { External (_SB_.PCI0, DeviceObj) External (_SB_.PCI0.EH01, DeviceObj) External (_SB_.PCI0.EH01.HUBN, DeviceObj) External (_SB_.PCI0.EH02, DeviceObj) External (_SB_.PCI0.EH02.HUBN, DeviceObj) Scope (\_SB.PCI0.EH01.HUBN) { Name (_STA, Zero) // _STA: Status } Scope (\_SB.PCI0.EH02.HUBN) { Name (_STA, Zero) // _STA: Status } Scope (\_SB.PCI0.EH01) { Device (EH01) { Name (_ADR, Zero) // _ADR: Address Device (HUBN) { Name (_ADR, Zero) // _ADR: Address Device (PR11) { Name (_ADR, One) // _ADR: Address Name (_UPC, Package (0x04) // _UPC: USB Port Capabilities { 0xFF, Zero, Zero, Zero }) } } } } Scope (\_SB.PCI0.EH02) { Device (EH02) { Name (_ADR, Zero) // _ADR: Address Device (HUBN) { Name (_ADR, Zero) // _ADR: Address Device (PR11) { Name (_ADR, One) // _ADR: Address Name (_UPC, Package (0x04) // _UPC: USB Port Capabilities { 0xFF, Zero, Zero, Zero }) } } } } } 3. Details of USB 3.0 device As for his xhc devices, he wanted properly named ports aside from wanting for them to work without using kext. Please note that not all unsupported VIA chipsets will work with this method! He is lucky that this ssdt activates his USB 3.0 ports running at full 5gbs speed! Even on my build, the USB 3.0 VIA chipset is unable to work even with use of kext! DefinitionBlock ("", "SSDT", 2, "APPLE ", "Xhci", 0x00001000) { External (_SB_.PCI0.RP08, DeviceObj) External (_SB_.PCI0.RP08.PXSX, DeviceObj) Scope (\_SB.PCI0.RP08) { Scope (PXSX) { Name (_STA, Zero) // _STA: Status } Device (XHC2) { Name (_ADR, Zero) // _ADR: Address Device (RHUB) { Name (_ADR, Zero) // _ADR: Address Device (HSP1) { Name (_ADR, One) // _ADR: Address Name (_UPC, Package (0x04) // _UPC: USB Port Capabilities { 0xFF, Zero, Zero, Zero }) } Device (HSP2) { Name (_ADR, 0x02) // _ADR: Address Name (_UPC, Package (0x04) // _UPC: USB Port Capabilities { 0xFF, Zero, Zero, Zero }) } Device (SSP1) { Name (_ADR, 0x03) // _ADR: Address Name (_UPC, Package (0x04) // _UPC: USB Port Capabilities { 0xFF, 0x03, Zero, Zero }) } Device (SSP2) { Name (_ADR, 0x04) // _ADR: Address Name (_UPC, Package (0x04) // _UPC: USB Port Capabilities { 0xFF, 0x03, Zero, Zero }) } } } } } Final Conclusion With the SSDT in place inside Clover's ACPI patched folder and included in the sorted order, here is what we have! Looks clean and neat! -
[ref]simo241[/ref], looking at your ioreg and it looks good so far. You do not have EH01/EH02. But you do have an Asmedia USB chipset which is will work and not affected by port limitation. Your on-board XHC also looks good. On my build, I also have a USB 3.1 Gen 2 USB C port which I plugged in a hub to detect both of its HSxx and SSxx. Have you tried batch processing method? This way, it will show all ports by groups and you will never miss anything https://Olarila.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=65287#p65287
