The 10.8 installation process is the same used in 10.7 http://Olarila.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=134

Mount InstallESD.dmg in the folder Contents/SharedSupport of Install OS X Mountain Lion.app

Mount BaseSystem.dmg (hidden) in Mac OS X Install ESD

open /Volumes/Mac\ OS\ X\ Install\ ESD/BaseSystem.dmg

Use Disk Utility to restore the partition Mac OS X Base System to an empty partition Mac OS Extended (Journaled)

Remove the link Packages from folder System/Installation in the new partition

rm /Volumes/Mac\ OS\ X\ Base\ System\ 1/System/Installation/Packages

Copy the folder Packages from Mac OS X Install ESD to the folder System/Installation in the new partition

cp -R /Volumes/Mac\ OS\ X\ Install\ ESD/Packages /Volumes/Mac\ OS\ X\ Base\ System\ 1/System/Installation

Copy the hidden file mach_kernel from Mac OS X Install ESD to the root of the new partition

cp /Volumes/Mac\ OS\ X\ Install\ ESD/mach_kernel /Volumes/Mac\ OS\ X\ Base\ System\ 1

Install Chameleon in the new partition http://Olarila.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=70

Copy Extensions.mkext to the folder Extra in the new partition http://Olarila.com/forum/download/file.php?id=1187

Copy a complete smbios.plist (with SMboardproduct) to the Extra folder. If you don't have one, use Chameleon Wizard to create one compatible with your hardware http://Olarila.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=398

If you need, copy patched dsdt.aml to the Extra folder. To create one, read http://Olarila.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=634

Optional: patched OSInstall framework & mpkg to install in MBR partition

http://www.mediafire.com/?4u74as83z74p3dp

tar zxvf ~/Downloads/MountainLion_GM_MBR_Patch.tar.gz -C /Volumes/Mac\ OS\ X\ Base\ System\ 1

Boot from the new partition and install the system to a new empty partition.

Install the necessary kexts to your hardware in the new system. The kexts from 10.6 and 10.7 work in 10.8.

You are doing something wrong, kernel should be

Darwin Kernel Version 12.0.0: Mon Jan 30 18:41:34 PST 2012; root:xnu-2050.1.12~1/RELEASE_X86_64

Review the procedures. Follow the topic and it should work.

Post hardware specs.

Did you need patched DSDT to install Lion? If so, use the same file for ML.

I may be asking WAY too soon; but is anyone using speedstepping already? I have a patched DSDT and use it to boot and I'll go back to nullcpu no prob; but if there's a smarter way out there to operate, can someone fill me in?

You need FakeSMC and all other kexts you need in Lion.

Use boot verbose (-v).

I have installed everything and I can boot to ML with no problem but I can't change the resolution and some apps are not working. Apps like Mail, Notes, Reminders....I always get the Error "App quit unexpectedly".

I can't figure it out where the problem is. Can you help, please?

I guess you need to enable the video drivers http://Olarila.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=154

and maybe patch AGPM (or use legacy) http://Olarila.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=629

About apps I have no idea, have read some reports but no solution, some solved "just reinstalling".

It's not a stable release, if it's your first install I recommend 10.7 (Lion).

You can install in VirtualBox to create 10.8 installer USB http://Olarila.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=1304

Update to 10.7.3 and use MacBookPro8,1 SMBIOS for full video support.

Thanks Cassio.

By the way, if it works in Virtual Box, does it mean that it will work by itself with format(not under Windows)?

No, VirtualBox is just a way to create an USB installer if the DVD doesn't boot in your hardware. It doesn't mean it will work natively.
