Solved - P-State Stepper Error 18 - Resolvido

Para eliminar o problema totalmente e com as kexts originais.

1o Veja o Conteúdo de: IOPlatformPluginFamily.kext > Contents > Plugins

dai veja o conteúdo de: ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin.Kexts > Contents > Resources

Dai Edite o plist correspondente ao smbios que você está usando, exemplo:

MacBookPro8_2.plist

dentro do arquivo procure por esse bloco de texto:

FanMax

6200

6200

FanThrottledRPM

3500

E apague todo o bloco.

OBS: Tenha em mente que os RPMs dependendo do seu caso podem estar diferentes, e mesmo assim, vc deve apagar todo o bloco.

E pronto! Tenha um Feliz iHack ! Com gerenciamento de energia funcionando como nativo.

First look at the content of: IOPlatformPluginFamily.kext> Contents> Plugins

view the contents of : ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin.Kexts> Contents > Resources

Then edit the plist corresponding to the SMBIOS are you using, for example:

MacBookPro8_2.plist

within the file look for this block of text:

And delete the entire block.

NOTE: Keep in mind that depending on the RPMs of your case may be different, and yet, you must erase the entire block.

And voila! Have a Happy iHack! With power management working as native!

eu estou tendo este erro no Mountain Lion, segui a dica, mas dei uma olhada e não encontrei essas informações de FanMax dentro da plist correspondente, aqui estou usando o do imac 12,1

chequei la e como nao tem esse controle do fan, eu preciso da screenshot de vcs com o erro e as linhas em volta do erro preciso ler tudo para ver o q temos q mudar.

If delete from ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin.kext the infoplist iMac 12.2 ..this error in kernel there is not...wich is problem?

acabou que eu "resolvi" de uma maneira inusitada.

Provavelmente eu estava colocando alguma instrução a mais em algum local.

Não tenho mais a mensagem de erro na inicialização após realizar uma nova instalação do zero, ela simplesmente sumiu, apenas rodei o AICPMPatch, utilizei um smbios.plist que vem no multishit 4.61, também o SSDT pra core i5 do próprio multishit, reiniciei, fiz o patch no AppleRTC.kext e coloquei os kexts de som e rede.

A mensagem sumiu, porém me dei conta uma coisa, apesar de tudo estar funcionando agora, após instalar o HWMonitor, percebi que o Mountain Lion esquenta muito mais do que o Lion, tenho instalados o Lion e o ML em cada partição de um mesmo HD.

Quando não está rodando nada pesado, como agora, o ML fica com uma temperatura de 36 ou 37, basta ligar qualquer programa que utilize gráfico, a temperatura sobe para 71, 72, 74 até 77, e sobe rápido, ou seja, tem algo errado ai, no Lion realizando a mesma função a temperatura que normalmente fica em 35, quando ligo o mesmo programa, sobe pra no máximo uns 50 graus.

Acho que mesmo sem a mensagem, algo não está funcionando, a mensagem que eu recebia é similar a do magnifico, porém com menos CPUS, já que o meu é um i5.

e resolvi o problema do aquecimento tb, perdi as configurações da BIOS , só tive que tirar as opções de Overclock e agora ta tudo normal... rodando liso e não passa de 49 graus...

na instalação em algum dos boots deve ter perdido as configurações da BIOS, antes de aplicar os patches, agora parece que está tudo normal.

i´m sorry

i got ride of the - P-State Stepper Error 18, using the SSDT for i5 from multishit, there is a SSDT fot i7 also. also installed the multishit's fakesmc and iMac12.1.plist, now it seems working

Seems the sandy bridge processors don´t have that instruction FanMAx, they work different, so the solution of this topic works for some processors but not all, it is only a guess, i´m not an expert like the guys here of the forum.

i had to turn off the overclock settings in the BIOS of my motherboard, couse for some reason it was set to TURBO

i was getting hight temperatures, so i applied the RESET CMOS patch, fixed the BIOS settings and now it seems to work. Even the processor multiplier isn´t stuck anymore in 16x, mine its working in 23x right now and changing up and down...

In my BIOS settings i have the tab Advanced CPU Core Features, i had to disable the Real time Ratio Changes in OS option to make it work property.

pois é, meu problema era mais de BIOS que de qualquer outra coisa, acho eu...

no meu caso BIOS = Bicho Ignorante Operando o Sistema
