asapreta Posted May 1, 2021 Posted May 1, 2021 I haven't seen the video yet, but the problems can be related to the USB3 counting as two ports and USB2 counting as one. So this should be taken in consideration because the 15 port limit. Forgive me if this has been addressed in the video. jasperlevi Posted May 5, 2021 Posted May 5, 2021 Hey @MaLd0n, what if we only activate the USB2 component (say, HSXX) for each USB2 port and JUST the USB3 component (for example, SSXX) for each USB3 port? Will that allow the USB3 ports to still function as USB3 (even if without any USB2 functionality), or will it cause problems? Thanks

UPDATE: I tried it but apparently the USB3 ports need power from the USB2 as well, to power USB3 drives, so they didn't work. I wanted to basically activate ALL my USB3 ports, and ONLY the USB2 that I need, and still stay within the 15-port limit set by Mac OS. Wishful thinking! I am now able to see (with the exception of one - a WD My Passport Wireless Pro) USB 3 devices when connected. My issue now is that my Broadcom BRCM20702 Bluetooth and Wi-Fi hub is not connecting to my Bluetooth mouse anymore. Wi-Fi seems to be doing fine. I'm attaching my ioreg file for you to have a look. Please help... ioreg-file.rar Edited June 17, 2021 by jasperlevi
