onemanosx Posted October 27, 2019 Posted October 27, 2019 [ref]skystar777[/ref], Depending on your ACPI table, a simple clover rename of H_EC/EC0/ECDV to EC might help. Thank you for your answer, I really appreciate if you can explain how do I perform the renaming I am still refreshing my knowledge about this
onemanosx Posted October 27, 2019 Posted October 27, 2019 Thank you for your answer, I really appreciate if you can explain how do I perform the renaming I am still refreshing my knowledge about this If you are using Clover, edit the config.plisthttps://imgur.com/abxSFrY Donate Gitter Chat Acer Aspire V15 Nitro- Black Edition VN7-592G/HM170 Chipset Intel i7-6700HQ, 8GB RAM (UEFI Clover Catalina) MSI B360 Gaming Arctic Intel i5-8600 16GB RAM Asus Radeon RX580 8GB (UEFI Clover Catalina)
skystar777 Posted October 27, 2019 Author Posted October 27, 2019 If you are using Clover, edit the config.plist https://imgur.com/abxSFrY Unfortunately that didn't work too, still stuck on the same error, what do you think I should do next?
onemanosx Posted October 27, 2019 Posted October 27, 2019 Unfortunately that didn't work too, still stuck on the same error, what do you think I should do next? Did you activate the rename according to your ACPI table? Which OS are you installing and are you using Olarila's image? skystar777 Posted October 27, 2019 Author Posted October 27, 2019 When booting from my USB i choose options => ACPI patching => custom DSDT patches =>then the renaming as mentioned above High Sierra Olarila image downloaded from this site
onemanosx Posted October 27, 2019 Posted October 27, 2019 When booting from my USB i choose options => ACPI patching => custom DSDT patches =>then the renaming as mentioned above I see no problem here, so are the options ticked or unticked? I think clover has its implementation opposite i.e ticked means its disabled ( or was it the other way round?) High Sierra Olarila image downloaded from this site Did you use config2.plist or the default config.plist? For laptops, its config2.plist Donate Gitter Chat Acer Aspire V15 Nitro- Black Edition VN7-592G/HM170 Chipset Intel i7-6700HQ, 8GB RAM (UEFI Clover Catalina) MSI B360 Gaming Arctic Intel i5-8600 16GB RAM Asus Radeon RX580 8GB (UEFI Clover Catalina)

For laptops, its config2.plist I used config2.plist It was unticked by default, then i ticked them as specified in your image to rename, so I used both ways by ticking all three options and unticking all three options, but still the same problem Edited October 27, 2019 by Guest
onemanosx Posted October 27, 2019 Posted October 27, 2019 I used config2.plist It was unticked by default, then i ticked them as specified in your image to rename You might need to play around with the ACPI/kernel patchings in clover and see which works. Cant suggest any further than this. skystar777 Posted October 27, 2019 Author Posted October 27, 2019 Good Luck! I enabled debugging output, Can this log help? https://ibb.co/S7RLdmQ I also tried to block the Kext (VoodooPS2Controller) but with the same problem Is it possible to take the working (VoodooPS2Controller) from my Lion image, and load that instead, if so? how can I add that custom kext at the booting, or do I need to replace it in my USB drive? Many thanks again for your help

Pretty sure kext from Mountain Lion is outdated to be used on a newer OS such as High Sierra. I also tried to block the Kext (VoodooPS2Controller) but with the same problem Then kext might not be the problem here.. Have you tried with boot arg -x? I have mounted my USB EFI drive in windows using Explorer++ in order to edit the kextS under clove, so I deleted VoodooPS2Controller, now I am stuck at a different error Waiting on IOProviderClassIOResources IOResourceMatchboot-uuid-media I also experimented with -x boot arg as well
onemanosx Posted October 28, 2019 Posted October 28, 2019 [ref]skystar777[/ref], I would suggest making a new USB image and try again. At this point, I am out of ideas. Also, you might want to check for Bios updates if any or look into the bios setup Donate Gitter Chat Acer Aspire V15 Nitro- Black Edition VN7-592G/HM170 Chipset Intel i7-6700HQ, 8GB RAM (UEFI Clover Catalina) MSI B360 Gaming Arctic Intel i5-8600 16GB RAM Asus Radeon RX580 8GB (UEFI Clover Catalina)
