Hi,

I'm new member and  my name is Constantin. I'm a persons with disability on  eyes, I want to install mac OS on my PC because macOS  is more better on Accesibility for people with blind problems.

My PC configuration:

  • Procesor Intel Alder Lake, Core i7 12700K 3.6GHz box
  • Motherboard: Gigabyte Z690 AORUS ELITE DDR4 (rev. 1.0)
  • 2 x SSD: Gigabyte AORUS NVMe Gen4 SSD 500GB, fisrst SSD run Windows 11 Pro, second SSD is not formated.
  • GPU:  Intel UHD 770 on processor and Asus GeForce GTX 760 with 2Gb RAM

 

Please somebody help me with answer ot my question. If is possible to install  may be can help somebody to talk few minutes on Whatspp or Viber... I have some questions about  files that I need for install amd method.

many gigabyte ssd is not good for macos. u need test it

gtx760 lose support, u can use mod driver but the best is change to rx560 or rx580

Can use GPU of CPU, Intel UHD 770?

If motherbord is OK I will buy another SSD, can you give me a topic where to find a list of SSDs with interface PCI Express 4.0 x4 compatible with macOS... or give me few brands and models to search im my contry.

no. go to amd card like rx560 or rx580

Ok, I canot use GPU of CPU!

Please,   can you give me  some models for Nvidia cards.   I know that Nvidia cards work better for Adobe Creative Suite programs, and I prefer Nvidia if is possible. I need a low or medium video card becuse not play games.  Just for macOs and Video and Photo editing with Adbe Creative Suite programs, I used not intensely, just ccasionally.

Why do you recommend AMD cards, they are better than Nvidia for macOS?

This SSD is ok?

  •  SSD Samsung 980 PRO 500GB PCI Express 4.0 x4 M.2 2280
  • SSD Samsung 980 PRO 250GB PCI Express 4.0 x4 M.2 2280

I see in Hardware > SSD Section of forum your recomandations is  Samsung SSD's and for this i choice this ssd's.

I also discover Memory section , I no't think is improtaan until this moment for provide specifications...but now I ask  if my memory is ok?

Another question, please help me to clarify in my mind about EFI files and methods. Is need just EFI files for my Motherboard Series Z6XX or is need to search and  add in EFI folder aditional specific files for adudio card onboard, chipset, usb, video card, etc. This things is not clear for me.

Is also need for specific brand, im my case Gigabyte? Or is generic files for Z6xx.

I find 3 option for secondhand vdeo cards, plese recomand two of this cards. In case is allready sell one to buy second opiton

MSI Radeon RX 580 Armor OC 8GB GDDR5 256-bit
XFX Radeon RX 580 GTS XXX, 8GB, 256-bit
SAPPHIRE Radeon RX 580 NITRO+ 8GB GDDR5 256-bit

A vidoe card  Biostar AMD Radeon RX 560 GDDR5 4GB/128bit, PCIE 3.0x16, card is  new and I want to buyi it...can be used ror mac OS? Is single brand that is in stoc in Romania at a decent price.

Hi,

 

Reviews is not very good and I'm disapointed because  many peple raporting high temperature for Biostar AMD Radeon RX 560. Uff, I dont know how to proced.

I comeback at scond hand cards. 2 Yers used for mining is much for a video card and cause big problems?  The second hand video card MSI Radeon RX 580 Armor is out of stoc, i find a MSI GAMING X RX580 8GB,  is ok?

Whatdo you advise me to buy?

Hi,

I search in formum and I find that you recomand more models...new models.

I  find in my country  models with  chipset 6500 xt with 4 gb RAM and bus 64bist, do you think is enogh for MOnterey? I find MSI, Sapphire, Asus...

If 6500 xt is not enough will choice 6600  xt cipset  that is more expensive (for me), my choice will be Asrok:

ASRock Radeon RX 6600 XT Challenger D 8GB OC GDDR6 128-bit Is ol?

 

Unfortunately  rx 580 second hand video cards is all very hard used mining crypto, I dont want to risk to pay a half of new 6600 

This imy last question about GPU, plesease help me to choice! Is worth investment in 6600?

i never use this asrock card. u need test or check if people use it.

Uff, very compicated choice.  If you don't know, I don't want to try my self. In this forum I not find topic about ASRock Radeon RX 6600 XT Challenger D 8GB OC. 

Can find a list with models - brand compatibility providede by  each methods OpenCore or Clover, or where to find? Search in G not return any result to know is ok or not.

I have a othere xt choice,  POWERCOLOR Radeon RX 6600 XT Fighter 8GB GDDR6 128-bit, you work and have result with this video card?

Or few  choice for rx 6600 cipset and my buget, you have succeses with one of this cards an can give me a good news>

  • SAPPHIRE Radeon RX 6600 PULSE 8GB GDDR6 128-bit  (is my favorite if is compatible)
  • POWERCOLOR Radeon RX 6600 Fighter 8GB GDDR6 128-bit  ( second choice if is compatible)
  • GIGABYTE Radeon RX 6600 EAGLE 8GB GDDR6 128-bit
  • Asus Radeon RX 6600 DUAL 8G 8GB GDDR6 128-bit

Please detail all seem fine, all 6600 version or all  6600 + 6600 xt (POWERCOLOR Radeon RX 6600 XT Fighter 8GB) because I dont want to make a mistake to buy a incompatible card. XT is little more powerfull and I think to buy 6600 XR.

in time of the weekend I search and find a reference in othere forum that ASRock Radeon RX 6600 XT Challenger D  
is recognized in a  MacPro5,1. after update to macOS 12.4. 


Please take a look to post no 3  in page 43 in link below and tell me if  this is a confirmation that Asrock 6600 xt is ok to buy. Is littl more power that Powercolor 6600 xt and little chip in my country,

I buy Asrok rx 6600 xt, please take a look at link and  tell me if is ok, if not will cancel order! I hope to be compatible...adn give me a good news.  Powercolor rx66oo xt allready out of stoc. The market in Roamnia is very volatile.

I will recive card in 7 -14 days! I will comback when I recive.

A last question, rx 66oo xt will be compatible with macOS 13?
