enolic Posted March 20, 2022 Posted March 20, 2022 (edited) Hello. A few days ago i installed macOS Catalina to directly update from inside the macOS Monterey, but after reboot the screen was black. So i decided to install from the beginning the Olarila Monterey. I boot to macOS Installer but when installer appeared, after a few seconds the screen turned to black again ( HDMI - No signal) EDIT: im on skylake (i3 6300). I have a dGPU on MOBO but now i selected from BIOS to run with only iGPU. (I will set up the mac to run with iGPU and windows with dGPU after a successful installation of Monterey config.zip Edited March 20, 2022 by enolic

enolic Posted March 20, 2022 Author Posted March 20, 2022 ok the installer appears normally with -igfxvesa. Is the -gfxvesa option is not for after the installation, is it? Because as i said i want to set up macOS with iGPU and dGPU with windows. Thank you very much for your help I will update in a few minutes if something happened.

enolic Posted March 21, 2022 Author Posted March 21, 2022 I decided to reinstall the macOS Monterey with iMac17,1 SMBIOS to see if that may fix the problem with 7MB VRAM. Unfortunately the problem still exists. I tried the patch but... nothing... 7MB VRAM ?

enolic Posted March 21, 2022 Author Posted March 21, 2022 Boot loop if I choose to boot the installed OS on HDD, Kernel Panic if I choose to install macOS. I removed the extra kexts of ethernet, and I keep mine. But unfortunately does not help.

enolic Posted March 21, 2022 Author Posted March 21, 2022 monitor is always connected to mobo via hdmi. I set up from bios to choose igd as primary gpu. On mobo, i have installled the NVIDIA 1060 but i included the -wegnoegpu at boot args to disable the dGPU. edit: for some reason memory on cpu was set up 32MB, but I had change that. Anyway, i change it again to 64MB, so the with the EFI you gave me i successfully boot up with full VRAM. Thank you very very much!! You are a hero!
