If it was MacPro3,1 it should work as is. Check in About this Mac - More info.

Okay, so after putting in 'OSX86Hack 1,1' in, it lets me install it!

However, still can't boot to HDD, after install of AppleATA kext?

Try to extract the kexts from CD (may be in Extensions.mkext) and install them to the HD

34 0 0x33ef9000 0x7000 0x6000 com.nvidia.driver.AppleNForceATA (1.0.3) <33 14 10 7 5 4 3 1>

39 0 0x33f98000 0xc000 0xb000 com.nvidia.driver.nForceLAN (0.62.13) <38 14 7 5 4 3 1>

Use Kext Wizard for that

I cant see an Extensions.mkext on CD, and the one on the HDD does not contain -

34 0 0x33ef9000 0x7000 0x6000 com.nvidia.driver.AppleNForceATA (1.0.3) <33 14 10 7 5 4 3 1>

Just noticed -

IOATAFamily is also installed, as well as AppleNForceATA.

Would that matter?

Also just noticed, while trying again to boot to HDD, this message.

'Cant load kext com.nvidia.driver.AppleNForceATA - link failed' etc

??

Looks like a bad kext. Did you extract it from the boot CD?

This kext must be installed in /S/L/E, not in /E/E.

Shall i extract and install ALL kexts from the CD, or just the AppleNForceATA one?

AppleNForceATA should be enough to avoid the "still waiting for root device" problem, and nForceLAN to have your ethernet card working.

Extensions.mkext in the CD is inside Preboot.dmg.

I have successfully extracted and installed the AppleNForceATA kext from the CD to S/L/E, but still get error.

Could it be that it is IDE Primary Master?

If it works booting from CD it should work from HD too.

Did you choose the correct architecture when unpacking the kexts?

Try installing IOATAFamily from CD as well.

When trying x86_64 :- 'Architecture x86_64 not found in mkext'

but it works fine in i836.

Note: a message appears in -x -v mode saying 'only com.apple.kpi. * dependencies are supported for 64 bit kexts....

Try booting with "arch=i386 -v".

Ok great, I'm in from the HDD.

Lost Ethernet though, and graphics enabler doesn't seem to be working...

You have to install kext nForceLAN for ethernet.

Use Lizard to enable graphics injection and detect PCI root

Restart should work with Chameleon RC5 (remove any restart kexts, EvoReboot, OpenHaltRestart).

What's your CPU? Sleep should work if you are using native power management (see first post and remove NullCPUPowerManagement) or use SleepEnabler.

All sorted! Everything works now, apart from the restart, which hangs at the end...

Also, should sleep mode work?
