Sorry, this one didn't work correctly. I managed to get perfection by doing the following: Researched further and found that for the 9 series of chipset, I needed FakePCIID_XHCIMux.kext and FakePCIID.kext. My process to get perfection (on the Gigabyte H97-HD3 which has 4 physical USB 3.0 and 2 physical USB 2.0 at the rear, 2 USB 3.0 and 2 USB 2.0 at the front (from an onboard header)), Haswell CPU running as Mac Pro 7,1 1. Rename EHC1 to EH01; rename EHC2 to EH02, rename XHCI to XHC; rename XHC1 to XHC. 2. Initially untick XhciPortLimit 3. Remove USBInjectAll.kext . 4. Reboot . 5. Run corpnewt's USBMap script. This time all 6 SS ports show up numbered nicely 1-6, with USB 2.0 detected on EHC. Plug in a USB 3.0 to each port to register. 6. This time USBMap is correct. Just generate the kext and no need editing. 7. Pot the above USBMap.kext in the correct OC folder, re-tick XhciPortLimit and reboot. -------------------------- If I get you to generate a DSDT with the above current working setting, will it make sense? (Just to try to go the DSDT method). Below is the RunMe link generated with the above perfect setup. Thanks https://1drv.ms/u/s!AumDSEaF6xVbmV6gDLkKa7Rs5Q6I?e=Nonh3P

How? by using uia_exclude=PR01;PR12 ? Found SSDT-EHCx_off.aml. Ok. Trying this.... Ok. This got rid of the EHC1 and EHC2 but I am still missing 2 USB 3.0 ports. Other than adding SSDT-EHC1_off.aml, the setting is the same as previous just that Hackintool doesn't display the EHCx anymore. Still total 15 ports. Could it be because I'm using Haswell and but running as a Mac Pro 7,1? Needed to do this in order to get my Radeon Graphics card to be in accelerated mode. Interestingly, after this change, booting doesn't cause a sudden spinup of the fans. Those 2 missing USB 3.0 ports are not a problem at the moment. I followed your 30 April 2021 YouTube video. Which step can I skip? I put XCHI-unsupported.kext into EFI>OC>kexts Do I still need this? I have tried several methods of USB port mapping. Using Gigabyte H97-HD3, OpenCore 0.6.9, Big Sur 11.4 Following the 40 April 2021 video exactly, Hackintool displays this (Screenshot 1.02.38pm) : What's with the EHCI1, EHCI2, PR01, PR12. I tried putting these in uia_exclude and they don't do anything becasue after mapping the USB2.0 devices and rebooting, Hackintosh still displays the same. They are no excluded. Unhighlighted ISB 2.0 are excluded. Also it is interesting that in the first screenshot, there is an SS01 at the bottom. So with the first screenshot, I uia_excluded HS07,HS13, HS14 only. save and reboot: Now Hackintool displays screenshot 2 (1.22.15 pm): So only 4 SS (USB 3.0) are identified. My motherboard has 6 USB 3.0, 4 at the rear, and 2 at the front. The 2 front ports uses a header on the motherboard. So after USB 3.0, I did not exclude any more port. ie. uia_excluded same as before. Then I generated the SSDT-UIAC followed the video. It works but of course only 4 USB 3.0 are detected and 2 of the USB 3.0 became USB 2.0 ports. Anyway to solve this? My system is running Big Sur 11.2.1, OC 0.6.6 with the SSDT provided by Oralila here without any issues. Power management works, running as Mac Pro 7,1 because I'm using RX580. Acceleration works. Is there a need for me to seek a DSDT ??

Opencore pre-made chipset links are not valid. Clover ones ok.

Hi all. I am successfully running OpenCore 0.6.5, oralila vanilla install, Big Sur using Mac Pro 7,1 as my SMBIOS. The reason for the Mac Pro 7,1 is because I am using Radeon RX580. The RX 580 has hardware acceleration activated as confirmed by VideoProc. However, Haswell is not "supported" by Mac Pro so it is reported as unknown CPU. The system works well though and this cannot be changed using CPU-Name (GitHub). The ProcessorType is report as "3842" and I cannot get any info on this number. Anyway, my system is working well on SSDT-OLA with X86PlatformPlugin linked to CPU0@0 as viewed by IORegistryExplorer so I presume Power Management is working. However, I tried to tinker by using RunMe.app and using the DSDT generated from there but X86PlatformPlugin is no longer seen if using DSDT. So a few questions: 1. Does having an unknown CPU in system info affect anything or is it cosmetic only? 2. Does RunMe generate this DSDT without the X86PlatformPlugin only because the system has "unknown" CPU? 3. Can someone point me where to get the ProcessorType integer? I can't find on Intel Ark. I cannot attach RunMe SendMe file because it is bigger than allowed size.

Managed to have a look at those entries that work and those that don't for me. A few questions: 1) PinConfigurator can IMPORT pinconfigs.kext and IORegistry. Both look identical. After editing pinconfigs.kext, I can save it. But there is no Export option for IORegistry. I presume both have to edited to be identical before compiling? There is an export option for HDACodec.txt 2) Is it OK to edit and use a preexisting layout or do I need to create a new layout? I'm not sure I qualify to upload this to GitHub. Just for own testing only. 3) The compile failed after editing pinconfig.kext

What do I do with the new PinConfigs.kext?

Looks like can do the job. Let me read up first.

Does anyone here know how to customize AppleALC based on Toledo's instructions (https://github.com/toleda/audio_ALC_guides/blob/master/Customization.pdf) ? I casn get my PCI SPDIF to work using above instruction under ALC887 - layout ID 99 but then I would lose the other outdio jacks output (My motherboard has those orange, blue, pink, gray, orange & block) 3.5 mm outputs. Basically I need to do No.7 of the above instruction using based on layout 7 or 1. Can anyone provide a step by step guide? Thanks.

Hackintosh Guide with Clover Bootloader on Serie 5, 6, 7, 8, 9
mengshi replied to MaLd0n's topic in Installation Guides
System: Gigabyte H97-HD3, i5 4690, Radeon Rx 580, Mac compatible Wifi/BT PCI. Been running Hackintosh for a long time. Needed to buy a new SSD as the old one is aging so did an Oralila install using the guide. Happy to say everything went well using the default setting including the standard Clover.plist from here. As everything is at default, I think it is using AppleALC/Lilu with the device hardware detect set at 1 (Realtek ALC887 sound chip) motherboard front headphone jack works. Have not tried the back sound ports becasue I have been using the Audioengine D1 USB DAC for the last 6-7 years since my first Hackintosh! This DAC has a headphone jack as well which obviously works and sounds better. However, with this setup, I cannot get the PCI Toslink/SPDIF (This is on a riser card) to work although a "digital out" is detected. This is not too critical but the main issue I have is the more frequent "pop" sounds from the USB sound. This is just annoying as it is unpredictable especially when multitasking. In my previous Mojave setup (using Oralila's method), the SPDIF works only with VoodooHDA installed and there was hardly any pop sounds. I think it is the same issue here. Has anyone solved these 2 problems - working SPDIF and pop sounds using the AppleALC? I have tried all the device ID recommended for the ALC887 but only 1 and 7 reflect my hardware. Somehow VoodooHDA has some special sauce in it. Should I use this instead of AppleALC/Lilu? Pro and cons? BTW, if I remember correctly in my previosu Mojave setup, I left the AppleALC/Lilu in place and simply installed VoodooHDA and straight away the SPDIF/Optical was detected. No need to uninstall AppleALC/Lilu? Thanks.- 1,927 replies

USB Xhci Port Limit patch for macOS. Hackintosh
mengshi replied to MaLd0n's topic in Patches, Tips & Tricks
Installed Mojave using the Oralila image successfully. One silly question: How to I know if I need this patch? System info shows me my USB 3 (5G/s) when I attach my SSD SATA drive. Thanks -
Need your help.... Trying to do a clean install of High Sierra on GA-Z97-HD3, GTX 750 Ti, Samsung EVO 860 250 GB, 8GB X 2 Hyper X, Intel Pentium G3258 (Not overclocking this yet). Used your Clover for the "Z97" folder. BIOS settings as recommended. I get a Kernel Panic about 10% into the bar at the Apple Logo. I cannot figure out why... (NB: I'm not exactly new to this - currently using High Sierra on GA-H97-HD3 (the non-overclockable version of above). The above has been continuously upgraded painlessly from many prior versions of OSX) Thx
