About activating the Wi-Fi you need to run the Heliport application which replaces macOS’s built-in Wi-Fi menu and you can scan and connect to all the available Wi-Fi networks around you. You need to add the Heliport.app to “Login Items” under the Users & Groups in System Preferences for it to load with macOS. Another issue with the Intel Wi-Fi and the macOS that I encountered is that the Signal Strength drops but it hasn’t disrupt my network connectivity so far so it could be a bug. Sleep works fine with macOS Mojave but I had no luck getting it to work on Catalina and Big Sur (I didn't even try that hard to get it to work anyways because I like Mojave better lol). What not works: The only thing that doesn’t work is the AirDrop which is because of the Intel Bluetooth and Wi-Fi and if you replace the Wi-Fi+BT card with a supported Broadcom adapter will work eventually. I noticed that OpenCore Detects my Samsung EVO 960 nvme drive. But since it has my main macOS on it I didn't try to boot into it using OC.

Yeah I guess the OC is working best with newer hardware.

From what I know OpenCore is in its early days of developments and there must be some issues with drivers and hardware recognition. I even tested the OC on my old SandyBridge and it won't boot either lol So for now the only system that I successfully booted from is my SkyLake rig. Let's hope that in the next releases it brings support for more hardware

Thanks for your help but the issue is the same, no mater what I do I can't boot the system with OpenCore, the system freezes right after I select the USB disk.

I tried them already and it still won't boot. When I select the USB all I get is a black screen

Installing Mojave on the SkyLake build was successful but my IvyBridge won't even boot

As far as I know there are two versions of your WiFi Adapter the V1 has an Atheros AR9287 which might work under macOS and the other one V2 has a RealTek RTL8192E chipset which is not supported by macOS. Was the adapter working under older versions of macOS like Sierra or High Sierra?

What is the exact model of your WiFi Adapter?
