MSI GF-63 Thin 9SC Help with no-USB boot and a few other issues
bradm replied to bradm's topic in Monterey (12)
Is it possible to get the EFI i sent link on to be looked at? I have tried the generic ones with no luck. Ventura 13.6.1 The only problems I seem to be having is: 1. Won't boot to MacOS without USB attached. 2. Sound not working. 3. On 1 gigabit internet on wifi or ethernet max speed is 100mb/s. No higher. 4. Camera not working. -
Thanks for the help. This worked out perfectly. I will be going through all the settings and make personal info changes. I really appreciate the help. Of course the onboard wifi/bluetooth doesn't work as expected but ethernet is working fine. I had an issue with not being able to get into the EFI folder and figured out it was a formatting problem in disk utility but got that figured out and it boots without the USB with no problem. Now with running the 3070Ti or the integrated graphics I already know about that. Looking into an AMD card possibly. Right now everything is laggy a little bit but not bad. Matter of fact typing this on the Sonoma install right now. Screenshot 2023-11-30 at 4.26.57 PM.zip

I can't even get it to install for one thing. Just tried and no go with it. I am familiar with Hackintosh and the config.plist. Have been doing them since 2014 but some reason this one is giving me all kinds of problems. Z790 Aorus Elite AX i9-12900k 32gb DDR5 Corsair Platinum 5600mhz EVGA 3070 Ti (which I know is not compatible. Will be getting an AMD card hopefully sometime soon).

That is what I am using. Would it be possible to get a copy of your EFI to take a look at what might be wrong on my end? Thank you

I have a quick question. What bios version are you using on your board? I can't even get mine to boot up to try to install. -

I have this same board. Can you please reupload the file? The link has expired. Thank you -
What BIOS version are you running on this board? I have the same one but no luck. ¿Qué versión de BIOS estás ejecutando en esta placa? Yo tengo el mismo pero no tuve suerte. Thanks

Still trying to figure out why this will not boot without USB attached. A copy of my EFI folder is here. I have been trying to figure this out but I am pulling my hair out. It ONLY works with USB attached. It is too big to attach to message. Hope a link is ok. Thanks for any help. https://www.mediafire.com/file/eg7prex7d829s2t/EFI.zip/file -

That was a no-go. I downloaded the laptop opencore EFI for CoffeeLake CPU on here with no luck. This is the one I downloaded: -NoteBook CoffeeLake and WhiskeyLake Download HERE But not having any luck with it booting without USB. Attached is my Run2app results. Send me Brads-MBP.at.net.zip -
I gave up on this one. I ended up giving it to my brother who came down for a visit. It was given to me for free with repairs needed that I managed to fix. Thanks for the help. I am working on my own laptop that I have, MSI GF63 Thin 9SC which I have posted on another post for some minor help.

Trying to find a little bit of help if possible. This setup was done with making the USB Bootable with Monterey per the original command line in terminal with the Opencore EFI placed on the USB drive: sudo /Applications/Install\ macOS\ Monterey.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/USB /Applications/Install\ macOS\ Monterey.app --nointeraction Monterey 12.6.3 Opencore REL-064-2020-12-07 SMBIOS Shows as: MacBookPro16,1 MSI GF63 Thin 9SC Intel i5-9300H 32gb DDR4 Samsung 970 Evo 500gb NVME drive. Also have a Samsung 1tb 2.5 inch SSD installed. MaxQ Nvidia 1650 (I know this will never work) WLAN BCM94360NG Wifi/BT NGFF M.2 card Working: 1. Ethernet (On AT&T Fiber I only get about max of 200mb/sec download on a 1 Gigabit connection) 2. Wifi/Bluetooth (On AT&T Fiber I only get about max of 200mb/sec download on a 1 Gigabit connection) Not working: 1. Sound speaker/microphone not working. Vendor: ONBOARD Name: Realtek ALC269 Codec: 0x10ec0269 (AppleHDA) Realtek ALC269 (10ec:0269) Rev.(00100203) Controller 8086:a170 (sub-ven:1462:127e) 2. Cannot boot without USB being inserted. 3. Graphics seems to show up right. Nvidia MaxQ 1650 seems to be “disabled”........ I think. Lol. Intel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MB. Is this right?? 4. Keeps asking to setup keyboard when logged in. Weird. 5. Camera not working. Attached relevant pictures. I have tried installing Ventura before this but no luck on that setup. Any help would be appreciated. Sorry I was out of town for a few days. These are the files currently in my Kexts folder for Opencore 0.8.5. I see Airdrop when I choose a right and right click on it and go to share but it says to share with someone ask them to open control center, etc. I have tried even sending from my iPad to this mackintosh with no luck. I am familiar with airdrop and how it works but nothing is working. Even though this card says it is 1200mbps I only get less than 100mbps on wifi with a 500mbps connection: BCM94360NG NGFF M.2 2230 WiFi Card 802.11ac 1200Mbps Adapter for macOS and less than 100mbps on ethernet running on cat6 as well straight to modem/router. The upload speeds are fine at 22mbps which is my max on upload from ISP. See attached screenshot of kexts and versions installed. Thanks Screenshot 2023-03-29 at 4.54.30 PM.zip

Can anyone help with this? Dell Latitude 3490 i5-8250u 8gb DDR4 Opencore Rel 085-2022-09-10 I managed to get Ventura installed on my laptop and it can boot without USB. Problems are: 1. Airdrop is not working. Wifi/BT card is Fenvi BCM94360NG. 2. Wifi is slow. I have a 500 down speed and only getting less than 10mbps on download with it. Speeds are perfectly fine with Windows. 3. Ethernet speeds are slow. Only getting 100mbps max on download. Speeds are perfectly fine with Windows. 4. Handoff also not working. It won't let me upload the Runme file because it is bigger than 2.93mb.
