  2. Here we go: Apparency The App That Opens Apps What Happens When You Open That App? macOS checks every app against a slew of security features: Gatekeeper, notarization, hardening, entitlements and more. But it doesn't show you the result of these checks, preferring to keep these behind the scenes — either the app opens or it doesn't, perhaps with an “app downloaded from the internet” dialog first. Even “code signatures” — around since Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard!) — are visible only via arcane Terminal incantations. What's Inside That App? Today's macOS apps are often made up of many pieces. Some of these are organizational artifacts, of interest only to the developers. But some pieces of an app can extend macOS itself — Share Extensions, Today Widgets, Safari Extensions, Quick Look generators, Spotlight importers, and so on. macOS lets you see and manage some of these, but not all of them, and not all in one place. Enter Apparency — The App That Opens Apps. Control-click on an app in the Finder, choose Open With Apparency, and see all the details in one place: Download Link: https://www.mothersruin.com/software/Apparency/get.html ________________________ Pareto Security - Developers GitHub Repository for the latest secure download: https://github.com/ParetoSecurity/pareto-mac Or direct .DMG download (Latest as of time of initial post): https://github.com/ParetoSecurity/pareto-mac/releases/download/1.15.0/ParetoSecurity.dmg Pareto Security is an excellent security hygiene application ensuring various security items we neglect or temporarily turn off to perform a task and forget to turn back on are done the right way by reminding us and detecting such incidents automatically. _________________________ Now I present the rest, an assortment of many macOS apps and projects hosted on my HitHub page: https://github.com/skyscope-sentinel/awesome-macOS Note: I have forked the repository and I am not the original creator of this resource I have merely done this to make it more easily referenced to help users here find it in an easier manner, original content credit is to the original repository from which it was sourced. [This can be seen on the page itself] The following is from me personally, with applications I use myself: Are you a developer or coder wanting AI LLM with an almost infinite use case scenario or close to it? Try these amazing macOS apps: New - Google's AntiGravity IDE https://antigravity.google.com Or if you are after unlimited free model inference with many free models available sign up for free with Open router, click on the top right and there should be an option to create API key, open terminal if it doesn't exist simply type: touch ~/.zshrc and hit enter, then type in first line: # OpenRouter then hit enter and in second line type: export OPENROUTER_API_KEY="sk-...." then hit ctrl and the letter x it will ask you if you wish to save this enter the letter y and if it didn't automatically close simply hit enter one more time, and lastly type in the terminal: source ~/.zshrc , now the fun part! If you haven't installed brew yet or don't know much about it type this into the terminal: xcode-select --install and hit enter a prompt will appear simply agree to it and hit ok or accept or similar allow it to download and set up it will close by itself , then simply copy and paste this: /bin/bash -c "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/install/HEAD/install.sh)" and this will install brew, make note of the last few lines shown and copy and paste them one by one in the same terminal this ensures brew can work properly, brew allows you to easily install many different apps and libraries with minimal effort, for example if you want python simply type Brew install python, need nodejs/npm simply type brew install nodejs and so on, ok this is now the fun part, we use Brew to install Crush which is an agentic CLI or Terminal AI developer coder assistant you can chat to in natural language and it can perform tasks fix macOS configurations, develop scripts and apps and much more, install it by entering: brew install charmbracelet/tap/crush Then lastly repeat: source ~/.zshrc and hit enter, then just type in crush hit enter which will start the crush app in the terminal (every time after all you need to do is type crush to start it no complex setup again it's a one time task and it's easy just follow the guide here you can't go wrong, now there is a small chance it will ask you for the OpenRouter API key even though it's in your environment variables now if you followed the instructions carefully, otherwise it should simply work immediately, now this is a one time step, hit ctrl and the letter p , a terminal prompt appears or app menu, whatever you want to call it, hit up down arrows find where it says 'select model or change model' and hit up or down until you find where it says Open Router, scroll until you find any model ending with the word 'free' once selected hit enter , type something like: list all files in my Downloads directory, and it will, by default a prompt appears allowing you control to allow it to perform that action or to deny it, to make it autonomous without prompting you, hit ctrl and letter p, hit down arrow selecting YOLO mode and hit enter ask same thing or anything you want done it should now be able to do it without asking, lastly if it did ask you for the API key , open another terminal window and type: nano ~/.zshrc and hit enter, select with your mouse the API key make sure you select the key without the " " surrounding it , then hit command or the windows logo key and the letter c to copy , click back on the first terminal window, click again just in case in the area where it wants you to enter the API key and hit on keyboard command or windows key and the letter v to paste it in, then hit enter and you're all set up. Additionally want free movie and tv series streaming that's in a user friendly easy to use app, this one is amazing in my opinion, go to https://strem.io and download it and give it a try. Want local inpainting upscaling photo editing get an app called Diffusion Bee , look it up and test it out, there is also one just for photo or image upscaling itself it's called Upscayl and that one is cross platform try that out too. Now if you want an all in one application with almost anything AI you can think of look up: 'pinokio AI browser' and I recommend you get it from GitHub directly as there are many different search results that could make a user click an unofficial link ( Note all the ones I'm mentioning don't cost you a cent if money is being asked for it isn't the right website keep searching) Now lastly, how about an AI agent that can browse for you in the browser itself there's the open source free option BrowserOS.org download the app and try it it's based on Chrome so any Google Chrome extensions will work on it too, or there is my favorite but it has a limit on how much you can ask of it and it's still a large enough allowance to do alot with but if you go over that it shows a prompt to subscribe, or simply wait and continue later it automatically saves where you leave off, it's very capable and more capable than the open source browser mentioned before it in terms of capabilities. Lastly there is also an entirely free Comet Browser from Perplexity.ai (Note although useful they can and do collect and store who knows what so just be mindful). That's basically several resources and suggestions to get you started and get you to the top of NERD mountain lol 😂 If you need anything particular just post a reply I'll try my best to find an app that can help with what you want if you don't find it in the links here, but I'm not always online so if I don't respond immediately I definitely will when I am.

  3. Hi everyone, if you're like me you would definitely be wondering what happens with the hackintosh community and solutions post macOS Tahoe such as the next new version and the versions after it which will not support Intel CPU'S leaving only two options to ponder. First one is the radical and novel yet uncharted territory involving having to modify the installer package itself ( using Apple's open source GitHub repository many aren't even aware it exists: https://github.com/apple-oss-distributions/distribution-macOS ) it basically contains all aspects of Apple's operating system and source code including to kernel and other components, so it might help someone start developing or making baby steps before the next version appears maybe? Or option 2 which I think has a much better chance of or higher likelihood of being implemented possibly by some novel new bootloader development or by dortania/ opencore or clover 🍀, I find it interesting that we have options such as Ventoy, refind, and a relatively new one limine all which could easily support macOS and the various configurations with a little bit of tweaking and integrations such as the drivers and logic to use them and how to understand and preload config.plist etc. I would like to hear what anyone else has to say, recommend, suggest, or simply what anyone thinks of this or of any new macOS or the future regarding this? My personal suggestion in addition to what is already mentioned is to ( however much it may be undesirable) , basically leverage a limine bootloader as it seems to be alot safer and can be configured and customised to look identical to a normal macOS bootloader and boot stages etc. but with one key difference, given the architecture difference with the M series and any new variants Apple chooses to move forward with, we may need to think a little differently, if security is a concern and it may be a very vital concern if quantum computing keeps evolving at the speed at which it has been, then possibly using SeL4 micro kernel as the hypervisor, with a immutable virtual machine host or base for security then atop of that a mutable eg read write capable Linux kernel with all the drivers and support eg. Xen or other and userland being a virtual machine or a Docker (dockerized / containerized) implementation of the macOS version that comes after Tahoe, whereby the virtual environment itself will definitely have the capability to emulate to almost native performance levels (as close as is possible) on an x64 system an operating system designed for x architecture ( X meaning any named architecture) , of course to keep it a little more simplified we could simply go with an operating system such as Harvester or Rancher OS as an option integrating a container Docker or kubernetes style emulation of M series latest MacPro system available today ? Too much? Not enough? What are your thoughts?
  4. Hey hey Sorry for the late response, finally got some free time to start responding, it seems basically to be primarily an issue with the python version you are using. If still wanting to give the app another try, try the following steps: 1. If you haven't already install brew by copying and pasting the following: /bin/bash -c "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/install/HEAD/install.sh)" 2. Copy and paste the following, or if you prefer try different python version/s: brew install python@3.11 python-tk@3.11 ( To try different python version simply change the version number at the end eg. python@3.14 etc. ) If that fails the one method I find best is to actually install Anaconda or Miniconda and use conda forge it usually works with any python library well on macOS even if it wouldn't normally otherwise, an alternative is to use uv eg. uv env. This is one thing an AI can assist you with copy paste the error log go to perplexity.ai and simply type for example: Hi I am trying to test and app I found online for GPU support and drivers however I ran into some errors, I have pasted the error log as follows: paste it here Then continue with: the developer replied to an online post where I made them aware of the issues faced, recommending updating my python version to version 3.11 or higher, can you provide me with a fully automated bash script I can simply copy and paste into the terminal on my macOS system that will automate the entire process , by this I mean installing Miniconda or Anaconda , using conda forge etc. or uv which you believe will best work for me. That's all, then open terminal and type ' nano 1.sh ' if you want to keep the script name short, then copy the script it provides you with go back to the terminal click inside it, press the Windows logo key on your keyboard known as the command key with the letter v same time to paste it in, then windows / command key and letter x, then the letter y Last step, make it executable by typing in the terminal: chmod +x ./1.sh Then: ./1.sh Hit enter and wait for the script to finish and try running the app again. Hopefully this resolves any errors or issues.
  5. Hey 'WPN Lumia' Unfortunately anything newer than the last supported Intel iGPU on official Apple systems and their boards/chipsets lacks support primarily iGPU's. Mine is iGPU 770 , my CPU is an Intel i7 12700 which is 12th Gen Alderlake I've spent a long time researching and testing things it can be made to work if you edit modify say framebuffer, remove the -wenoigpu boot args from config plist and even modify kext/s or if you feel like it and have time on your hands make a driver (highly unlikely as I didn't see that as an option and I do tend to spend alot of time on things before I give up so don't bother, save yourself the effort). What I did was basically buy a cheap AMD RX 560 4GB it works with the latest Sequoia and Tahoe ( Tahoe being the last official macOS version to support Intel CPU's as all future versions will be specifically for their own M series and beyond ecosystem and hardware, unless the hackintosh community develop a hypervisor / VM style overlay emulator or simulator type userland kext config or library or bootloader with such implementation embedded it may be the end of all the brilliant work and progress the community has made on this). Hopefully my input shared in this reply gives you enough info to help, PS. I recommend you check all the resources available on Olarila.com as the go to place for anything involving this as I have done my research tried other sites and this is the best one there is, and no not a paid representative just like yourself , I have had nothing but excellent support here and aim to help and reply wherever possible to hopefully help out others.
  6. Olarila.com has some amazing EFI configurations available for members to download all are categorized to make it easier for members to choose from and he has put alot of time into making this possible and offered them to enable everyone to test and run (of course to determine if macOS suits them before committing to purchasing an Apple product, as testing or trying out is the best way to see if any platform or software suits a user and their needs before making a move like changing the ecosystem they rely on daily) 😇 I got a personalized or customized OpenCore from Mald0n which is absolutely perfect work, he has provided exceptional customer service so I do honestly highly recommend the paid support option it helps keep Olarila.com going and providing the excellent solutions no one else can match in this field, I am basically able to use and run the latest macOS Tahoe now using a motherboard CPU and ram very similar to yours (of course the Intel iGPU 770 though is unsupported although there are ways eg. modifying framebuffer and kext but the performance wouldn't be anywhere near as good as that of a proper PCI E GPU). Anyone needing an expertly configured EFI should definitely visit the link below: https://olarila.com/topic/5676-hackintosh-efi-folder-with-clover-and-opencore/
  7. Hi it should work , if there are any issues, I will provide you with two resources that are guaranteed to work: 1. https://github.com/Benjamin-Dobell/nvidia-update 2. https://github.com/eflanili7881/NVIDIAWebDriversForMacOSMojaveAndCatalina I've done a lot of research into this basically the best support you can get for NVIDIA GPU s, make sure you accompany any of these solutions with Olarila EFI for your system, here is the link:
  8. Hi haven't had a chance to do this, I've temporarily gone across to using Linux , just for a short time period and will be going back to macOS as soon as I do I'll be able to provide you with this.
  9. Ok everyone I have found out after thorough reading up and testing that if we edit the config.plist to include the following as you can see below, we can have full Intel iGPU graphics support on Sequoia and Tahoe <key>DeviceProperties</key> <dict> <key>Add</key> <dict> <key>PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x2,0x0)</key> <dict> <key>AAPL,ig-platform-id</key> <data>BwCbPg==</data> <key>device-id</key> <data>mz4AAA==</data> <key>enable-metal</key> <data>AQAAAA==</data> </dict> </dict> </dict> Basically this spoofs the Intel i7 12700 CPU's onboard Intel 770 graphics to work and gives it metal 3 support and acceleration as Intel 630 without further tweaks needed. My system uses a Gigabyte B760M gaming motherboard, but this should work on any as long as you have a similar or closest to the same CPU or iGPU. Please share in comments if this worked for you guys. All the best.
  10. Seriously! Thanks lol I suppose I should look into it eg. put effort into doing a search , but I appreciate that I'll check that out.

  12. Omg! My GPU is the only thing stopping me from the update, mainly because OCLP hasn't released a version that recognizes the platform and applies NVIDIA root patches. Just can't afford a new GPU yet. I actually have a very good question for you guys, anyone able to get me a macOS Tahoe supported/compatible GPU that supports PCIe 4 , Re Size Bar and ideally 8GB or more VRAM for approx $50-$70 USD (I mean users in another country where GPUs would be retailing cheaper).
  13. Hey I'm hoping you got that issue resolved, PS. My friend has the same laptop, in BIOS on the left I don't remember 100% but I think it says Boot Options or Boot... something maybe configuration or setting. If you click on that, you should see two options there is RAID usually on the right hand side ticked, tick the middle option or left option I don't think it says AHCI but that is the option that allows it to work like AHCI. Also scrolling doesn't seem to work on those laptops in the BIOS so click downwards, and ensure RAID options including Intel Trusted Boot and EFI protected/secure something options are disabled. With each option after making the change click on apply/save change/s then continue with the next setting etc. This should fix the problem. The EFI provided MaLd0n I can guarantee should work 100% for you, I recently I don't remember roughly a month now or little bit closer to 2 months I think ago I paid for the service and he provided excellent customer support and assisted me through the entire process. So trying to help back in little ways too here if I know or can, basically that's what I do know about your laptop, the options should not be different to what I mentioned. Let me know if it worked 🙂
