dnakruemel replied to Shihab's topic in DSDT Patch Requests
My guess is everything connected directly on pcie is valued as internal. If everything is working with the card, id just leave it be. -
Hey, so I managed install and this device only having 2 USB Ports, no remapping needed, both work, no excess entries to be excluded. Surprisingly, the only thing working is WiFi and the WebCam Bugs: -Bluetooth cannot be switched on -Keyboard (it detects some keyboard, asks to press button right to shift but no key is registered) -Trackpad not working at all -Thunderbolt not tested yet but would be very appreciated (not listed in Hackintool>USB yet) -Sound ill try to fix myself using these ALC codes -Headphone Jack but see above^^ -SD Card reader (maybe its the specific card, but camera can write to it) -Touchscreen not responding. -Overall performance is lacking IDK if this is part of patch-request, but can MacOS scale its UI up? Its a 4k resolution screen at 13 inch.... Sure I can scale in each App but for example the Top bar is fairly hard to read Send me dnas-MBP.zip Found a promising solution online which sadly didn't boot through, but maybe its possible to steal some knowledge there; This EFI uses my exact notebook model, Opencore 0.7.4 and Monterey 12.0.1 while claiming to solve most problems except touchscreen. I didn't even check for the brightness keys which are also broken. https://github.com/iraniamir/xps-13-9350-Monterey-OpenCore

Thanks, this did the Trick!

Hey, im installing on a 2016 Dell XPS 13 9350 model. It has an 6500cpu so I used Skylake EFI folder. After a few modifications in the bios I got the stick to boot and install. Then it rebooted, here the problems begin. It boots Clover, then the newly created Installer (on internal drive I believe) is booted. Mostly, this doesn't work and reboots the machine. I once got a real white error sign blurring the rest of the screen. I restarted the process and got it to install the 2nd installer from SSD. This takes a lot longer at a certain point into the install (machine did some work...) there's an impassable reboot loop happening. Maybe im missing a boot argument here? Hey, my Mac prompts me that he wants to update himself from 12.0.1 to 12.1. According to Hackintool, my current OpenCore version is 0.7.6. Is it safe to let it update or will I brick my system? I heard MacOS is generally problematic with updates even on official hardware, im pretty happy with the system as-is but updates shall not be ignored on a default basis. Thanks

Hm maybe we shall call in @MaLd0n at this point. Maybe post the EFI Folder you made on the USB drive with legacy option so Mald0n can check if its created correctly. If so, save it, re-write ISO and drop EFI Folder in again.
-
Hey sorry i had to leave for christmas. Sounds like EFI is working now but actual ISO Kernel cant be executed. Did u use USB2 Port?
-
So with the options exhausted, it might be worth a shot stepping your BIOS up from 2.1 to 4.1, i found installer here https://support.dynabook.com/support/modelHome?freeText=1200013843 You should go to the text field and choose the most accurate model and OS type ( its usually an installer that starts in windows, then reboots and finishes up in bios) Be patient, and stay connected to power. Dont abort, this can easy render your device complete trash (can be fixed by soldering to serial connectors but thats a whole other level) Available devices are Portege R830 (PT320A-03N007) Portege R830 (PT320A-03N00701) Portege R830 (PT320A-06K031) Portege R830 (PT320A-0HM00701) Portege R830 (PT320A-0HN007) Portege R830 (PT320C-01G018) Portege R830 (PT320C-01H018) Portege R830 (PT320C-01J018) Portege R830 (PT320C-01K018) Portege R830 (PT320C-05L02L) If you dont wanna go this route, id suggest using legacy addon for OpenCore. Visit dortania manual for that, and try boot with legacy.

Screenshot 2021-12-20 at 22.32.43.zip can u check these options and see what u can set there?
-
Its hard to tell, it seems that toshiba created a custom menu here which i do not find online. So if you select boot from USB it just ignores and skips it? Thats a sign of EFI not being recognized then; did you put the folder called EFI on the stick or the contents of it? Mainboard searches for an EFI folder on the EFI partition. For disabling CSM, it should be in a boot or device or general section, really different on various vendors. My ASUS desktop board has tons of submenus, but if yours is a bit simpler maybe post some images of the options we have to play around with? If all fails, maybe do try the OpenCore legacy; if i read documentation correct u need extra files, but we need @MaLd0nblessing for that. Lets try have a look at toshiba bootloader first.
-
So u need to check your laptop setup. If using Legacy OpenCore, use CSM, otherwise turn it off. Some Chipsets have an "UEFI Mode" option, mine can switch from "Windows EFI" to "Other OS"; MacOS will NOT boot with Windows EFI mode. Boot from USB2-Port. Also, if u had windows installed, id clear the secure-boot-keys, but beware, youll get boot issues in windows if you do this! Could you specify more on the state of error? Are you able to select your flashed USB drive to boot or does it not even pop up? Can you verify USB is bootable in another system? (dont need to install there)

pretty sure sandy bridge already had uefi support, i could have a look on ur device firmware if you post the notebook model number

Required firmware update cannot be installed.
dnakruemel replied to Doug Dunning's topic in Monterey (12)
Hey im just hijacking this thread, is it generally possible to do updates from settings or is a fresh install required? Since install was recently, opencore should still be up to date. -
Hey i want to have an eye on my temps while doing some OC so i installed "intel power gadget" The installer extracts "EnergyDriver.kext" to /Library/Extensions but wont be loaded properly, shall i copy it over to opencore kexts? intel power gadget kext.zip update: loaded with opencore kexts but app still gives error

update: nvidia shown in pcie in hackintool, all fine However, there was an 800x600px "Display" added. I arranged it out of way and it doesnt bother much. VmWare based on apple hypervisor doesnt allow pcie devices though, i installed the "og" qemu/kvm hypervisor, couldnt load device yet, but that should not be your problemhac ? Im out now again, will investigate qemu options next... Screenshot 2021-12-11 at 17.21.36.zip Screenshot 2021-12-11 at 17.26.31.zip
