What patch? im using but on all ports i get alternating images screen. Its not crashing, swapping of images is smooth, but it wont continue boot just shows these sketches of macs with arrows indicating SOMETHING -
Hey, wont be big help since im a noob too; i cant view .rar on my phone, but some casual tip i often forget myself is don‘t boot from usb3 port if possible. Since i cant check did u inject correct coffee lake EFI folder? Also, do alot of research on ur gpu, generally nvidia support was dropped after 10.13(?) high sierra. Some older cards still work with mods in newer macos, but idk about ur specific card. Its gonna be some hassle as well. EDIT: k2000 is in supported list big sur, just dont update in monterey i guess. Just wait for madlon, hell send some boot argument u can put in and im sure graphic bug will be fixed because if white text disappears completely then there is no kernel error. Just hoping im not typing total bs here

Hm i tried all ports on notebook and dockingstation, then i tried using usb2 extension cable to "cut" out the extra usb3 lanes but still these images appear. Can u talk about what do u mean with external? -

kernel panic/abort on installer notebook
dnakruemel replied to dnakruemel's topic in Big Sur (10.16)
after nvram clear boot order was cleared too so there was a windows boot efi boot after windows boot gave; i cleared nvram again and directly gave boot drive override without save and that gave exact same kernel panic as shown above. I also might add this notebook does NOT offer ANY usb2 ports ? i try to find dockingstation, this might have some -.-; will give update on this.. Using USB2 on Dock gives same loop of about 40 lines where these hex values are aligned to each other in following format followed by an block about "Kernel Extensions in Backtrace" with some dependency mentions. Im writing this because i didnt notice such graphically outstanding printout on any successful boot before. this repeats like 3-5 times until the shown above "IOPlatformPanicAction" block halts the boot. -
Hey its me again with another device for my girlfriend. Its a T460 Thinkpad. i7-6500u w/ igpu. I downloaded Skylake EFI folder and applied, this gives Kernel panic. I then updated notebook BIOS and switched macOS from Monterey for Big Sur image; same result. Then I used this EFI from GitHub which loads the installer, but aborts after about 15% of the loading bar with apple logo to block sign (attached). On all EFI experiments I added SMBIOS "MacBookPro13,1" since this is closest to actual CPU. (in GitHub repo they use custom BIOS firmware but im not confident to brick device :P) However, I followed BIOS Setup given in Github closely I attached the files I used. Github EFI is 50MB so cannot upload but is same as here except ProductName field; https://github.com/simprecicchiani/ThinkPad-T460s-macOS-OpenCore errors.zip EFI-skylake-olarila-mbp13,1.zip

will 2 gpu installed confuse the installer
dnakruemel replied to dnakruemel's topic in AMD - Patches, Tips & Tricks
Im tempted to login with my apple-id, I checked my serial with apple and it seems to not be in use already. 2 Questions: - is it safe to link it already or shall I wait until we finished making system behave properly? - is it safe to swap serial in config.plist to newly generated? -

You're a magician! -Card shows up correctly -Correct resolution can be set, however, there's only 100Hz available while display can go to 160 -"throwing" windows around still feels very stuttery and limited, maybe I need to enable some hw acceleration to utilize card correctly I attached new IOReg report. booted with provided EFI-2 folder.zip -

Here from IOReg; but the EFI Folder you provided stays untouched? Or shall I put it in EFI Partition first? dumpasrequested.zip -

Sorry for the maybe stupid question, shall I reboot with this EFI folder and then rerun dumper app? I do not see any option to create report from UIRegistryExplorer. -

yeah but how do i do it i installed propertree as well as opencore configurater. Using the first, did not discover any adequate option. The configurator did not display much at all; am i looking toward the WEG.kext itself oder has the flag be set somewhere else? EDIT finally found sth that pointed me back to propertree, tryin that now -

So Google says I need boot flags, but I can't seem to find how to edit them, could u point me into the right direction? -wegswitchgpu to disable internal GPU when external GPU is installed (or add switch-to-external-gpuproperty to IGPU) -

So, install went through, it even correctly displayed igpu under "about this Mac" I then installed the GPU back into the system, reconnected DP cable from igpu to dedicated gpu and booted it up, which gave no errors whatsoever. However, about this Mac now shows generic 7M display again. I was too excited and misclicked when runme app asked for privacy permission and now it can't create info dump, if u need this maybe u know how to allow it again? The GPU seems generally known to the system in the screenshot. Otherwise, the system seems to have some lags here and there. Archive.zip -

So none of the ports worked. I removed the GPU and its now installing monterey. When its finished ill try install these port mapping tool and see if we can modify efi partition in a way that it accepts GPU. -

im using same usb2 port i had success yesterday (front), back usb port gives same issue. I do have a spare sata ssd i could „dd“ the installer to and boot from there if this would help? Sadly, the remapping tutorial is only on macos, i do not have access to one here. -

Sure, here it is. Sometime theres some more line before brick, but sync point 3 is always in the last 10 lines before it halts. In a thread on non-vanilla-wayx86 they were talking about an extra gpu until the issue can be fixed, shall i install using nvidia because that worked 2 days ago or do u think it can be fixed before install? dnakruemel replied to dnakruemel's topic in AMD - Patches, Tips & Tricks
Hey so i had problems again, thought i might remove nvidia card and verified usb stick via etcher. (using usb2 this time). However, boot is always stuck at „GTrace synchronization point 3“ - my search suggets an wrong kext; but using the olarila coffee lake EFI zip, wich by the way also offers an replacement for EFI in the larger partition. This was not shown in tutorial so i did not use that. Do you have an magic string to put in config file for me again EDIT: card used is AMD r9 290x on z370 coffee lake PS i need to wait for paypal initial transaction to confirm my account… -

Hey, so i added the AMD gpu and left the nvidia for other OS. Should i remove it before i install macos to avoid accidentally installing nvidia driver by olarilo scripts like runme dumper app? Also, does runme dumper app already contain lilu&whatevergreen recommended by opencore website? -
Ill try that soon. I also remembered i still own an kinda old AMD r9 290x, would you recommend using this and maybe switching to another macos again (newer maybe)? Im pretty sure im using OpenCore but not sure. Olarila High Sierra image with z370 efi folder.
