Thank you my friend. Great progress. Many thanks. Sonoma is installed but for some reason it freezes randomly where the mouse can still move but nothing is "clickable". All the windows are frozen but the mouse still able to move Anytime I go to click on something the window will freeze and sometimes the spinning wheel will appear. Having trouble renaming the GPU, need a SSDT. This is the PCI path of my GPU from windows. @MaLd0n I figured out the reason I don't have acceleration with RX 5500 XT in high sierra is because it's a Navi card which is unsupported for high sierra. I have ordered a GTX 760 so I will only need shikigva=40 + whatevergreen and lilu for acceleration Just leaving this here for whoever else runs into this issue. The big sur image gives me issues with install so I will try to update from High Sierra once I get the gpu in the mail. ?

@MaLd0n I tried with usb2 port using olarila vanilla image as it is. When that didn't work and I got the prohibited error I then added usbmap kext but still no luck.

Indeed this is what I have done and I get the restricted/prohibited error with Catalina AND Ventura. Install worked with High Sierra but no acceleration. I am going to try Big Sur and Monterey today... My specs are all compatible so I'm not sure what's wrong @MaLd0n

Is there an SMBIOS or DSDT that will work with my i5 8500 and RX 5500 XT on High Sierra? Just tried running the Olarila Catalina Installer but I get the restricted/prohibited error with iMacPro1,1 before reaching installer ? I tried USB 2.0 and 3.0 Tried adding my USBPort map kext and removing xhciportlimit + usbinjectall but this had no effect

Switched the SMBIOS to iMacPro1,1 but still no luck ?? Hi, I have a successful install of High Sierra 10.13.6 on my build with i5 8500, z390 I Aorus Pro Wifi, RX 5500 XT and 16GB DDR4 RAM, 2.5 SSD, no nvme. The only problem is there is no graphics acceleration. I tried switching the SMBIOS to iMac18,2 but that also has no graphics acceleration. I downloaded and ran the RunMe.app for ACPI solution, will this fix graphics acceleration? I am attaching the "Send Me" zip generated by RunMe.app, any help greatly appreciated @MaLd0n ??? @MaLd0n The bios version is F8, one step below the latest version which is F8i. I have the bios set as you instructed in the tutorial thread. No nvme, just a 2.5 500gb Western Digital SSD. I also generated new Serials for smbios and am connected to ethernet

I am trying to install Catalina using the Catalina 10.15.7 with EFI folder for chipset series 300, 400 and 500 that is posted here on this website but after it reboots and goes through the install, I get an error saying Mac OS could not be installed on this computer, the installer resources were not found.... I have 2 Gigabyte z390 I aorus pro wifi builds; one with RX 5500 XT and the other with RX 6650 XT. I was able to install Ventura on the build with RX 6650 XT with your help but I can't complete installation for Catalina on my build with 5500 Xt What should I look at first @MaLd0n ? I have disabled CSM in bios and I have agdpmod=pikera set in boot arguments. Specs: i5 8500 Gigabyte z390 I Aorus pro wifi 16GB DDR4 RX 5500 XT

@MaLd0n I saved this as an .aml file using MaciASL and added it to my ACPI folder in Opencore and also added it to my config. I then set my Device properties to this https://ibb.co/QQBg8Pd which is what I think you said to do but I'm not sure. I still have no acceleration, is this correct? Opencore. Use a plist editor like xplist to modify your current config. I am not sure on the exact Device Properties yet, maybe @MaLd0n can give us an example. My current Device Properties are blank. I will play with it when I get home from work.

I believe it's with the Device Properties > Add Device ID and Model but I am not sure. Maldon will have to confirm...

Hi @MaLd0n, I have been running your EFI on catalina for quite some time now. My specs are i7 9700k, 16gb of ram, Gigabyte z390 I aorus pro wifi and rx 5500 xt but I just upgraded my gpu. My new gpu is RX 6650 XT. I reset cmos, reset nvram, reconfigured my bios settings but I have no graphics acceleration and about this mac shows only 10mb of video memory.... How can I resolve this for the RX 6650?
