Hey Guys, I have Big Sur installed full version and runs perfectly until I changed my cpu from i3 7100K to an i7 7400. I am using OC to boot. Under overview for Mac it shows Processor as 3 GHz Quad Core Intel Core i3 and Graphics shows Intel HD Graphics 630 31MB. I cannot run web pages as the computer takes for ever to load and freezes but if I put my actual i3 CPU back it all works perfect again. running OC 0.6.3 the prebuilt version of @MaLd0n. PLZ HELP

Anyone else having issues to update to beta 10, I get a message when trying to update from system that I need to download full installer, do that, it does its normal update process but when done it just does not go into the OS, from the Open Core boot menu I select Big Sur, it starts verbose mode then PC restarts and goes back to boot menu. I am on OC 0.6.3 from the 1st post on here. @MaLd0n -

I am getting kernel Panic MACH Reboot when using that EFI, if I put the OC 0.6.1 EFI back no issues, even if I disabled DevirtualiseMmio Edit: I managed to resolve this by transferring my config.philst over to the new EFI, works fine now -

See if this would help you, I use this to boot beta 6 and it works well, installation goes through fine. I had to remove rehouses and tools from the folder to make it smaller, you can just add yours in there EFI.zip -
Today I got a notification that Beta 6 was out and I decided to update, the update completed but the screen colour was a pink or purple colour and I had no kext injection for sound, internet. @MaLd0n do you have a suggestion how to fix this, took me the whole of today to get my BS back to beta 5 because time machine does not do a restore like other versions of macOS
-
@MaLd0n I updated to Beta 5 just now and it updated and booted fine but I noticed that my eternal ports show cable unplugged though it was working properly in beta 4 so it means I have no internet with BS anymore, do you have any fix, I have Realtek RTL8168H/8111H PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet: with the latest up to date kext( I think) EDIT: I managed to fix it, don't worry

Install Intel Power Gadget and after reboot it will change the name to whatever you have named the hard drive in disk utility

I tried many nights to get it to work with Clover but failed, got it to work once with standard pre-made clover folder from Maldon but not from beta 2 onwards so I used OC which works just fine, I am happy with OC and doubt I will use Clover again, OC seems to be much more stable anyways.
-
Not sure about clover but the Open Core one is working with beta 4

Just upgraded to BS beta 4 using the original OC EFI folder and it went thru smoothly no issues

I tried with a laptop SSD plugged inside my desktop just now and it works, installs Big Sur properly. You must format SSD under disk utility to APFS first. If that does not work your issue is with your desktop maybe or ask @MaLd0n

Are you using an M2 SSD?

On that link I shared, go there and download the pre-made Open Core Efi folder, the one for BigSur series 100 200 300 etc, you must have Big Sur .dmg and follow the sudo instructions to make your own vanilla usb, once usb is created mount the efi of usb and paste the downloaded OC refi there, do not change anything in the efi folder. Boot to Bios and select boot from usb then install to your ssd. I tried putting my refi here but cannot says I reached the limit of 2.9mb

So I have the Asus MSI H110m Pro VH Mobo, I am booting Big Sur Beta 3 from a 4g internal Hard drive. I created a vanilla usb installer and then from my Catalina I formatted the drive and installed BS onto the new drive. I used the methods from this post below and the pre-made Open Core efi from here and it works. Use the sudo instructions to create your own bootable usb don't download the image it gives issues.

Did the update with the stock OC pre-made Efi and it works, no usb just from system pref pane and then when it all loaded I put my refi folder back, restarted and beta 3 is working. I see that Apple fixed the bug in time settings and it seems so much faster and smoother as well.

Should I make another USB for beta 3
