Hi

I was able to install Catalina 10.15.5 on a Chinese X79 mobo and Xeon E5-2630 CPU. It took forever to boot with the usb installer created with the Olarila Catalina download and the X79 EFI Chipset folder but I was eventually able to complete the installation including the Apple Account creation. But when I rebooted after completing the installation I was never able to get any video. The boot process is normal until in the end I am greeted with a black screen and after a while I am sent back to the Clover boot window. Every boot attempt ends up with a black screen. What am I missing?

Thanks

Hi

I am already using Olarila X79 folder. I placed your DSDT in the appropriate folder and removed usbinjectall. Same result as before: after boot attempt I am taken back to the Clover boot screen.

Thanks

What Chinese motherboard do you have?

Hi

I cannot find any brand name on the board but I do have this pic.

Capture d’écran, le 2020-08-13 à 11.56.38.zip

I don't know if this info may be useful; I installed an old GTX 750 video card and the video works fine with the wrong resolution, of course since this card is not supported. Then I replaced the GTX 750 with a GT 710 and I got no video.

Sorry I did not see your reply until now. I know I have 8 gigs of ram installed but I don't remember if it is one stick or not. I will check that out and let you know.

I had no idea I could use OpenCore on this motherboard.

Thanks

Just checked the ram installed: one 8 gigs ram in green slot. I am going to order a second one.

Hi

I was able to install Catalina using Open Core but I hav no audio since I don't know the audio codec used by this board. Do you happen to know what codec it is?

Thanks

alc662 just add alcid=5 in your boot args
