Finally after several days trying to install the premade iso of catalina, i succeeded in getting the distro up and running. The mistake i was making had to do with the efi folder, trying varoius methods, untill i came across the premade clover efi folders found on this site concerning various builds. So i highly recommend anyone trying to install any distro to download the appropriate folder for their machine so as to avoid problems when installing. Thnx to all the contributors of this site for making our lives easier!!!!

Hi

I spent countless hours trying to install Catalina 10.15.4 on my MSI X99 SLI and my i7-5820k but no matter what I used I could not get the computer to boot from my usb installation drive. Do you mind explaining which folders you used after preparing you installation usb drive? I would appreciate any help I can get.

Thanks

Sure, but how do I know which ones I should use? I already tried the x99 efi clover but I get the same failed boot.
