Nexxusone Posted November 15, 2019 Author Posted November 15, 2019 progress stalled for a few days will work on this in early hours over weekend
Nexxusone Posted November 17, 2019 Author Posted November 17, 2019 origin.zip my origin folder (zipped) bios 1502 - cpu 9400f - rx480 4gb (sapphire nitro +) have set bios as several guides for asus and have a constantly repeatable boot to mac install util - where i can use disk util to format internal M2 WD 120 gb (green model - set as a sata disk) also have memory in A1 and B1 as this is a known issue with asus boards the RTC clock is RTC legacy. vtd is off ---- VTT is on ---- and serial port is off - basically as per guides for asus boards. now USb ports will only boot when usb stick in one port.... so may be a issue here when i install catalina all fine until 2 mins left then mouse freezes and keyboard frozen (pc locked up) have left for several different attempts - 5mins to 1 hour + no further progress on install. hopefully the contents of origin folder will highlight the snags..

Nexxusone Posted November 17, 2019 Author Posted November 17, 2019 Sorted to a bootable Hackintosh - put clover 5098 on boot disk, used the efi and dsdt you adjusted (works well) and set verbose mode to off by removal of boot argument -v and to boot with no delay to boot disk via clover configurator - have shut down / restarted etc and booting fine on the m2 WD green drive - will image drive for my own safe keeping! now going to change sound from digital out as no volume control... to line out to allow volume adjust as using dvi video - will check my monitor to see what audio inputs it has ( it has line in for sure) may have dvi- audio or over hdmi - things to find out for tomorrow... once I get as sorted as possible will then try my NVme drive and my Asus wi-fi card and report back. again thanks for help to get this far. this was sent / typed on my 'new' Hackintosh Asus b360g
Nexxusone Posted November 18, 2019 Author Posted November 18, 2019 ASUS PCE-AC56b PCIe Wi-Fi dual Band AC1300 - this works out of box as broadcom chip Samsung NVMe 970 EVO M2 256gb model works fine as well.
Nexxusone Posted November 18, 2019 Author Posted November 18, 2019 The Asus STRIX B360G Gaming mATX M/board uses S1220a audio rather than ALC1220 version - have tried several guides but they all seem High Sierra based and hence outdated. UPDATE - SOUND SORTED WITH ID 7 Explanation - I had to turn on all effects in sound panel AND NOW we have sound using Clover configuration tool to set audio hardware to ID 7 in devices tab Now to use for a few days and see how it goes, and if anything stands out as a problem.
Nexxusone Posted November 20, 2019 Author Posted November 20, 2019 origin.zipI have added an updated origin folder as changed bios to 1703 and added in new hardware (pcie wi-fi and and a m2 NVme drive ) so this is final setup as closed system up. still boots with the dsdt from 1502 bios. Do I need a new one for 1703? the 1502>1703 bios just adds I9900K cpu support and very minor bug fixes - all menu and options seems unchanged. also would like a dsdt file from new origin folder that works with open core boot loader if possible thanks in advance the runme.app results folder zipped, is too big to add as a file, but I could email if you give me an address if needed?

Nexxusone Posted November 24, 2019 Author Posted November 24, 2019 ok thanks, have added water cooling to cpu, tidy up of cables, added back 2x4gb of ddr4 to give 22gb of ram, moved my asus wifi card from its x1 slot into the spare x16 slot to get a 3 slot space for a new Navi RX 5700 card (im thinking of buying...) as there are very few true 2 slots rx5700's most are 2.3 to 2.7 slots.... Also updated to Catalina 10.15.2 Beta 3 via beta program / app store update.... as now starting to support Navi GPU's.
