nonits Posted November 10, 2019 Posted November 10, 2019 Can anyone help me troubleshoot this issue? My RBS 2019 works with almost 100% functionality except for 2 issues: 1. Sleep - When I put the laptop to sleep by either selecting sleep under the apple menu or closing the lid: * Keyboard backllight remains on * I can hear the fans spin * Screen is black with no Backlight If I try to wake the machine up by pressing on buttons on clicking the trackpad the screen's backlight turns on but the screen itself is blank. I Thuhave also tried shining a torch on the screen after wake and can't see anything. 2. Display through HDMI - I have a USB C dongle with an HDMI port that works well with a real macbook and on the RBS Windows Partition. If I plug it into the left USB C port (non thunderbolt) The HDMI display does not work but the dongle works like a hub (usb ports and power delivery work) if I plug it into the right USB C port (thunderbolt 3) The laptop restarts. If I leave it plugged in during restart I get no functionality on the dongle and the laptop restarts again if I pull the dongle out. Problem 1 is my priority - Sleep is the only thing I need to get to work to make the laptop my daily driver, problem 2 is just a nice to have but I can do without it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

nonits Posted November 11, 2019 Author Posted November 11, 2019 hi again! I did a fresh install of Catalina (I couldn't reinstall Mojave) and this time I did not put any kexts in the system. The issue is still the same though When I wake up from sleep I only get a backlit screen but its blank. my new send_me is linked below: http://s000.tinyupload.com/?file_id=38174583521089862205 I only get basic functionality on my trackpad now too. I lost the touchpad preferences.

nonits Posted November 12, 2019 Author Posted November 12, 2019 thats weird I opened the send_me zip and it shows an ACPI folder with a bunch of stuff in it. thats not the one in my EFI. The one I have matches the Clover folder in the send_me Added in 14 minutes 59 seconds: I deleted all the other EFI backups on the EFI partition and all files in the desktop (except run_me) rebooted and re ran run_me with the below results: http://s000.tinyupload.com/?file_id=19313618674681047189 The only change I made is added "recovery" in gui so I dont see the recovery drive and set catalina as the clover theme Added in 15 minutes 37 seconds: out of curiosity I also tried plugging the laptop into the usbc dongle I have thats connected to an hdmi. The left port (non tb3) works except for HDMI (not detected) the right port (tb3) caused a restart when I plugged the dongle in and went straight to a kernel panic after restart. heres what the report said: panic(cpu 0 caller 0xffffff8000462e0a): Kernel trap at 0xffffff7f8430a514, type 14=page fault, registers: CR0: 0x000000008001003b, CR2: 0x00000000000001dc, CR3: 0x000000001691d000, CR4: 0x00000000003626e0 RAX: 0xa0e3fd27344500d5, RBX: 0x0000000000000002, RCX: 0x0000000000010002, RDX: 0x0000000000000001 RSP: 0xffffff81f0db3e20, RBP: 0xffffff81f0db3ea0, RSI: 0x0000000000000001, RDI: 0xffffff8035eda2a0 R8: 0x0000000000000001, R9: 0x0000000000000002, R10: 0x0000000000000000, R11: 0xffffff80335fa440 R12: 0x0000000000000000, R13: 0x0000000000000000, R14: 0x0000000000000000, R15: 0xffffff8035fe2000 RFL: 0x0000000000010202, RIP: 0xffffff7f8430a514, CS: 0x0000000000000008, SS: 0x0000000000000010 Fault CR2: 0x00000000000001dc, Error code: 0x0000000000000000, Fault CPU: 0x0, PL: 0, VF: 1 Backtrace (CPU 0), Frame : Return Address 0xffffff81f0db3880 : 0xffffff8000339a3b 0xffffff81f0db38d0 : 0xffffff8000470fe5 0xffffff81f0db3910 : 0xffffff8000462a5e 0xffffff81f0db3960 : 0xffffff80002e0a40 0xffffff81f0db3980 : 0xffffff8000339127 0xffffff81f0db3a80 : 0xffffff800033950b 0xffffff81f0db3ad0 : 0xffffff8000ad17f9 0xffffff81f0db3b40 : 0xffffff8000462e0a 0xffffff81f0db3cc0 : 0xffffff8000462b08 0xffffff81f0db3d10 : 0xffffff80002e0a40 0xffffff81f0db3d30 : 0xffffff7f8430a514 0xffffff81f0db3ea0 : 0xffffff7f842e7c3c 0xffffff81f0db3ee0 : 0xffffff8000a401bd 0xffffff81f0db3f30 : 0xffffff8000a3eb02 0xffffff81f0db3f70 : 0xffffff8000a3e08c 0xffffff81f0db3fa0 : 0xffffff80002e013e Kernel Extensions in backtrace: com.apple.driver.AppleIntelKBLGraphicsFramebuffer(14.0.2)[5D601EC7-18BD-3FBE-8E5B-7E86487FC756]@0xffffff7f842b5000->0xffffff7f844e0fff dependency: com.apple.iokit.IOPCIFamily(2.9)[AA7C7A4F-9F5D-3533-9E78-177C3B6A72BF]@0xffffff7f810a2000 dependency: com.apple.iokit.IOACPIFamily(1.4)[4A40B298-87E0-373E-84A9-9A2227924F8F]@0xffffff7f81090000 dependency: com.apple.iokit.IOAcceleratorFamily2(438.2.7)[72B8A0B5-E12C-3764-9187-0AC0E93416F9]@0xffffff7f841f2000 dependency: com.apple.iokit.IOReportFamily(47)[2CCA7DD3-C33F-3CA4-A213-BC83D3D997B0]@0xffffff7f80c9f000 dependency: com.apple.AppleGraphicsDeviceControl(4.5.9)[AB076CA9-0E87-382E-BDF3-527D9F278B23]@0xffffff7f816d3000 dependency: com.apple.iokit.IOGraphicsFamily(568)[247C211E-C250-351C-BCE2-4DB9D3003E10]@0xffffff7f8138f000 BSD process name corresponding to current thread: kernel_task Boot args: dart=0 lilucpu=9 -cdfon -igfxmlr igfxcflbklt=1 darkwake=0 -wegnoegpu Mac OS version: 19B88 Kernel version: Darwin Kernel Version 19.0.0: Thu Oct 17 16:17:15 PDT 2019; root:xnu-6153.41.3~29/RELEASE_X86_64 Kernel UUID: 7503CD47-851F-321E-8747-50DB4299165F __HIB text base: 0xffffff8000100000 System model name: MacBookPro15,2 (Mac-827FB448E656EC26) System shutdown begun: NO Panic diags file available: YES (0x0) System uptime in nanoseconds: 1297643352843 last loaded kext at 1296195118063: >usb.!UHub 1.2 (addr 0xffffff7f81547000, size 221184) loaded kexts:
