Maf3r0 Posted September 14, 2019 Posted September 14, 2019 Don't really know where to start... I can tell you, Olarila images are perfects to start! iMac 19,2 (10.15.4) + Win 10 @ OpenCore UEFI Dual Boot H310M-S2P | i3 8100 | 16GB DDR4 | UHD 630 + RX 580 (PowerColor) | ALC887 | Realtek RTL8118 | TP-Link WN781ND
iolarila Posted September 15, 2019 Author Posted September 15, 2019 (edited) thanks for your replies. So, were are talking a full vanilla install right ? Question : I've been hearing a lot about hackintoshes using "opencore". What's the benefit of this and do Olarila images use them ? Edited September 15, 2019 by Guest

Maf3r0 Posted September 16, 2019 Posted September 16, 2019 Question : I've been hearing a lot about hackintoshes using "opencore". What's the benefit of this and do Olarila images use them ? OpenCore is a future bootloader, just like Clover. As OpenCore development not finished yet, I think that's Olarila images still use Clover. So, for now, Clover still the best option. iMac 19,2 (10.15.4) + Win 10 @ OpenCore UEFI Dual Boot H310M-S2P | i3 8100 | 16GB DDR4 | UHD 630 + RX 580 (PowerColor) | ALC887 | Realtek RTL8118 | TP-Link WN781ND
iolarila Posted September 17, 2019 Author Posted September 17, 2019 ok thanks for that precision. Last question : in my initial post i wanted to know whether this vanilla install with Olarila images will still allow me to dual boot between my hackintosh and windows. I would like to keep windows on its independent existing NVME M.2 drive and install the hackintosh on another NVME M.2 drive. Is this possible and if so, will Olarila give me the choice on which drive to boot ?
Maf3r0 Posted September 17, 2019 Posted September 17, 2019 Dual boot is possible due to Clover bootloader – not Olarila's images. With means that u can install Windows and macOS where u desire - on the same or different ssds. But... to start macOS you'll need some configurations that allow this and this - this is the Olarila's images purpose. The intend is make instalation procedure much more easy, once that images have configurations (that beginners are not familiar) for almost all hardwares. That's all!!! Once u get macOS up and running, u are free to change/test everything... including create your own installer with Apple's images or change Clover configurations or even test OpenCore... iMac 19,2 (10.15.4) + Win 10 @ OpenCore UEFI Dual Boot H310M-S2P | i3 8100 | 16GB DDR4 | UHD 630 + RX 580 (PowerColor) | ALC887 | Realtek RTL8118 | TP-Link WN781ND
