Graissechel Posted July 18, 2019 Posted July 18, 2019 Hi everyone, First sorry for my english. I have tried several times to install High Sierra on my PC but I have some complications. I tried to manage by looking on different forums to make it work but I couldn't configure everything properly. Here are the details of the problems as well as my hardware configuration (and as an attachment my Clover EFI file). First when I boot, the graphics are a little bit glitched (like when the graphics drivers are not installed). Then, some elements don't work (Wifi but that's normal since my wifi chip is an Intel, the touchpad, the Fn Keys Asus or the sound). However, when I boot on the Olarila High Sierra installation USB stick, the graphics bug does not appear. Could someone help me with the configuration, please? Here is my hardware configuration : Processor: Intel Core i7-8750H (2.2Ghz 6 Cores) Motherboard : Asus X580GD (with HM370 chipset) Graphics Processor: Intel UHD Graphics 630 RAM: 16GB Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 4GB Wifi: Intel Wireless AC 9560 + Bluetooth (Bluetooth works natively but I can't disable it, it's still enabled) Ethernet: I didn't have to install a kext, I think it could be supported natively SD Card Reader: Realtek USB 2.0 Card Reader Headphone/microphone jack (combo) Fingerprint: ELAN WBF Fingerprint Sensor Touchpad: Asus Precision Touchpad Webcam : Supported natively Audio : Conexant (I'm not sure but Asus support delivers Conexant drivers for Windows so I guess that's what it is) Storage : 1 SSD 512GB and 1 HDD 2TB Battery : The battery indicator doesn't appear. When I boot on USB installation stick in safe mode, the indicator appears but always say 0% I also have 1 USB 3.0, 2 USB 2.0, 1 USB type C and 1 HDMI port I try to be as precise as possible in describing my configuration, I also put a link to the Asus website about my model : https://www.asus.com/us/supportonly/N580GD/HelpDesk/ Thank you in advance for your help. Graissechel Posted July 19, 2019 Author Posted July 19, 2019 (edited) Thanks for the EFI file, my graphic problems and the battery display problem have disappeared. On the other hand, I do notice some problems: The sound is not functional and the microphone is not working either on the speaker or by plugging into the jack. My touchpad and Fn Asus keys don't work (but I think that's normal for that). I also don't have the possibility to disable Bluetooth, it is permanently enabled and the "disable" box is grayed out. My SD card reader and HDMI outpout don't work too How can these problems be solved ? PS: I have a question for the Nvidia graphics card. Under Windows, it is only used when the PC is connected and when I have to perform heavy tasks (games, graphics rendering on video editing software, etc...). So is there a way to activate it for heavy tasks or is it impossible ? Thank you. Edited July 19, 2019 by Guest

Graissechel Posted July 19, 2019 Author Posted July 19, 2019 I have executed the command you gave me and the terminal sends me "Kext with invalid signatured", it does it for the following kext: - FakePCIID.kext - FakePCIID_Intel_HD_Graphics.kext - AsusNBFnKeys.kext - AppleIntelKBLGraphics.kext - AppleIntelKBLGraphicsFramebuffer.kext For the sound I've found the correct layout ID = 21 (Conexant CX8150) For my touchpad, it is well activated in my BIOS and it works on the Clover boot page but not once it is booted on macOS. However, I don't have an advanced mode for the touchpad in the BIOS, I can iniquement enable or disable it. I've still the same problem with Bluetooth : always activated, even if I ask to Siri to disable it, Bluetooth won't be disabled. I think it can have an impact on battery drain. Graissechel Posted July 20, 2019 Author Posted July 20, 2019 (edited) MaLd0n, I read on GitHub that in some cases for touchpad compatibility, you have to use a Windows 10 DSDT patch. Is it possible to make it functional using this method ? Source : https://github.com/alexandred/VoodooI2C/wiki/Compatibility Edited July 20, 2019 by Guest

Is it possible to make it functional using this method ? Source : https://github.com/alexandred/VoodooI2C/wiki/Compatibility Your touchpad is Elan1300 and that guide is correct as you already had voodooI2C + voodooI2cHID kexts installed. Graissechel Posted July 20, 2019 Author Posted July 20, 2019 onemanosx Are you sure my touchpad is an ELAN 1300 ? Because in the Windows driver provided by Asus, it is written ELAN SA47EI-12A4 which corresponds to ELAN 1201. After that it is possible that ELAN 1201 and 1300 will work in the same way but I don't know. So how do I make it work because even with the current kext (VoodooI2C + VoodooI2CHID), it doesn't work. I also saw on the Olarila site, I saw thatKylergib had the same problem as me with the same touchpad model (ELAN 1201) and that his problem had been solved. Can you provide me with the same patch as him to see if it works, please ?
