Enable I2C Trackpad (VoodooI2C) - Not a Guide... not really

tuncas, looks like VoodooI2C kexts are not loaded. If you have had installed kexts in S/L/E, please remove them. I would only recommend third party kexts to be placed in Clover for ease of troubleshooting.

its a new notebook of 10 days old,

in this mojave installation, i ve never interested with; S/L/E, its like original from Olarila 10.14.x image.

all are in EFI/Clover/kexts.

can it be because of A36A?, A368 id is (the other l2c port) in kext id numbers but no A36A in kext info. (this machine is new produced.)

or maybe because of mt patched SSDT-DDGPU.aml, SSDT-KEYS.aml, SSDT-PNLF.aml.

And this state repeats once or twice maybe 3 times untill it boots correctly

tuncas, try installing voodooI2C and voodooi2chid kexts in L/E.

 

tried many kexts either in clover/kext and S/L/E, nothing changes still same. (only basic movement touchpad)

i know from windows 10 , it is TPD0,

it should be connected from I2C2 8086:A36A

it writes custom model in bios, so i didnt tried VoodooI2CAtmelMXT.kext, VoodooI2CELAN.kext, VoodooI2CFTE.kext, VoodooI2CSynaptics.kext, etc...

After working on hours, the solution was so simple; the old school way

As im a hardware man, i dismantled the main board, looked touchpad more close, the chip on it says "ELAN 3336"

this is both gamer and workstation mb on some models, so the bios has options;

ALPS, Synaptics, Custom (This custom is for ELAN)...

so i first tried with "VoodooI2CELAN.kext", but no luck because the main problem was I2C service do not start ???

from windows i know: SB.PCI0.I2C2.TPD0

there is one I2C0 service for touchscreen that i dont have ; pci8086:A368

and the other service is for touchpad pci:8086:A36A

when i search website of "VoodooI2C.kext", it is supported up to ...A368,A369. no more (but my machine is so new!)

so i added the last line to "VoodooI2C.kext", Info.plist

kext utility, repair permissions, restart and

now i have full support touchpad and can be seen in system preferences.

Anyone have similar hw from MSI can apply this ...

wifi: intel killer e1550 (not for hackintosh, soon replace by BCM94352HMB)

sd card reader: RealTek RTS5129 USB Card Reader, no luck here too.

audio: realtek 1220, cant have microphone yet.

hdmi 2.0, dp 1.2, usb c type outs, 4K out, not for mojave as nvidia controls outs.

2 port usb 3.1 gen1, 2 port usb 3.1 gen2

touchpad: ELAN

I was looking at my built kext from GitHub and saw that the device is indeed included. No idea when dev will officially release though. Kudos to you for the self discovery!

Hello. I have a nice 2in1 Tablet from Asus with i5 7y54.

I managed to install Catalina 10.15.1 but Trackpad and Sound not working.

Soundcard is a ALC274. I tried VodooHDA and AppleALC with almost all Layout-IDs.

Hey guys, I am following the first page to try to activate the trackpad on my Lenovo s340 ideapad.

GPI0 is CannonlakeLP

ACPI ID:TPAD

APIC Pin num: 0x50 --> dec 80

0x50 in the IRQ table of CANNONLAKELP is:

GPP_C8_IRQ --> in decimal 189

GPP_H8_IRQ -->in decimal 125

Now if I go here (https://github.com/coolstar/VoodooGPIO/blob/master/VoodooGPIO/CannonLake-LP/VoodooGPIOCannonLakeLP.hpp) I can't find those decimals. I am stuck in this point. Anyone has some suggestions?
