So at step 3 the flag -uia_exclude_ssp should be included again despite being mentioned to be deleted ? Or its some typo ?

And what ssp means? is that a Type C port ?

Sorry I'm asking because I'm following the guide again to activate my new USB Type C but its a no go for me

[ref]RandomTech7[/ref], Not a typo. Some systems defines SSPx instead of SSxx for their superspeed ports. I wrote as such so new users can easily follow the guide.

I got it thanks, exported IOReg and ssdt files compressed are too large to upload (6.7MB)

btw I'm using the ssdt with the latest USBInjectall.kext for now but I remove them when I'm attempting this guide.

Edit: Sorry was using old version of ioreg, now files looks better in size, silly me :|

thanks for quick response, now lets take it from the beginning because I do sometimes silly things, so my question is; How to test Type C USB?

Not actually, I just ordered a USB C to 2,5 HDD cable from internet, it has being detected sometimes as USB 3 with up to 5GB/s, not 10GB/s as it should. Im I doing something wrong ?

You will need a proper Gen 2 type USB 3.1 device to confirm

Thats a USB 3.0 type C hub. Btw, does your board support USB 3.1 speed? As far as I know, not all USB type C are USB 3.1 Gen 2.

Its Gigabyte Z370N Wifi and it has USB 3.1 Gen1 with USB Type-C.

I just wanted to make that port usable no matter if high or low speed, I might order a USB Type C flash drive with 150MB/s speed, better than non

You're right! Just checked mobo specs but as I said not a big deal if I can just make it usable for anything, thanks for the help :)

...has anyone done the testing on an Aorus Z370 Gaming 7 board yet?

As in, are the results from one system good for another with the same motherboard, aside from where the keyboard/mouse are plugged in?

Also, in the port limit, are ports on a connected hub included? If so, I guess I'd be trading hub ports for on board ports.

Posted

[ref]M0001[/ref], it is always best to implement personally for your own build to avoid conflicts,if any. Port limitation are for onboard intel chipset. Any external hubs are not taken into account.

[ref]tarantababu2002[/ref], Please insert all USB ports with your USB device and run this app http://Olarila.com/files/Utils/RunMe.app.zip and upload the output folder.

[ref]onemanosx[/ref], Hi...

Before your patch all ports run like 2.0 except 3.1 port. After your patch USB 3.0 ports work with no problem but the USB 3.0 hubs work like 2.0. however, there is no 2.0 ports that can be seen in both cases, only usb 3.0...

1. SSDT is pointless without a DSDT. Not required. Your SSDT is not even configured to your specific.

2. Boot argument - You should choose either exclude or include method. I propose exclude method.

1777142322_Screenshot2018-12-06at9_02_31PM.png.9082d99494fd97e1cc19a611b93ec242.png

3. You are using a 2.0 hub on a USB 2.0 port. Hence the 2.0 speed.

4. Non related - You are running full IGPU acceleration alongside your Radeon setup. Quick sync doesnt require igpu to run on full acceleration.

I also suggest you have your DSDT properly patched - visit here https://Olarila.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=1131

Edit: I also suggest you test the ports again properly by using a USB 2.0 device to test for HSxx ports and use a USB 3.0 device to test for SSxx ports.
