cm0270 Posted February 16, 2019 Posted February 16, 2019 Is it possible to get a modified DSDT for a MSI GP70 2QF Leopard Pro-486 laptop? i7-4720HQ Haswell CPU Geforce 950m dedicated graphics Intel HD 4600 16gb DDR3 I have Mojave installed on the laptop but trying to disable the Nvidia 950m. The Intel HD4600 works great but the battery goes quick because I know the Nvidia card is likely causing the issue. Any help would be great. Thanks, Brad

cm0270 Posted February 17, 2019 Posted February 17, 2019 inside the DSDT? I am really unfamiliar with this stuff with editing those. lol
Administrators MaLd0n Posted February 17, 2019 Author Administrators Posted February 17, 2019 [ref]cm0270[/ref], put dsdt in clover/acpi/patched and add patches with clover configurator, acpi tab -Guides and Tutorials HERE -Hackintosh Tutorial Database - HERE -The largest EFI folder collection for Hackintosh HERE -Support Olarila Vanilla Hackintosh by making a donation HERE -Professional Consulting for macOS Hackintosh since 2006 HERE
cm0270 Posted February 17, 2019 Posted February 17, 2019 Ok out and about for a few. Will do this as soon as i get back. Had issue with efi not mounting.
cm0270 Posted February 17, 2019 Posted February 17, 2019 Done: dsdt in clover/acpi/patched and add patches with clover configurator, acpi tab Is this, or is this not, supposed to fully get rid of the Nvidia completely on this screenshot? I had to completely redo the install. Somehow I messed something up on the main drive and got it all reinstalled. Only thing I can think of is I am missing something somewhere. See attached files. Added in 1 minute 38 seconds: After a reboot again it now shows this. lol I have no idea how it got rid of the Intel graphics and kept the Nvidia. Stumped here.
cm0270 Posted February 17, 2019 Posted February 17, 2019 well now the Nvidia is gone and Intel is showing up only in system information. There were a few entries in Clover that I removed. lol. Probably not the best thing but will figure it out. But now it won't let me get the HD4600 graphics up. Keeps saying 7mb. Before I was able to Inject EDID and Inject Intel with ig-platform-id of 0x0d220003 in the Graphics tab and then in the Devices tab use 0x04128086 in the IntelGFX box and it would show up as Intel HD 4600 1536mb. config.plist.zip DSDT.aml.zip

cm0270 Posted March 3, 2019 Posted March 3, 2019 Check what device needs disabled? I need the Nvidia Optimus 950m disabled. That is what I have been trying to do so I can just use the Intel 4600 without it eating my battery up with the Nvidia running in the background. And then getting the Intel 4600 set to 1536mb vs 7mb.

cm0270 Posted March 3, 2019 Posted March 3, 2019 I must be a complete and bonafide idiot because nothing I do fixes this issue. This is the screenshot from Hackintool. Guess I am just not coordinated enough to figure this darn thing out. Moved the config.plist from EFI folder to desktop and ran Hackintool. made what I thought was the correct changes and exported and replaced the one on the desktop.
Allan Posted March 4, 2019 Posted March 4, 2019 When you export to Desktop, automatically the app (Hackintool) will generate a backup config.plist, and one with modifications included. Thanks & Regards IdeaPad Gaming 3i • Aspire A515-52 • Clover / OpenCoreWe are in a great Forum, so, let's have some fun and learn from each other!
cm0270 Posted March 4, 2019 Posted March 4, 2019 Ok the progress so far. Managed to get Hackintool done. Thankfully. I copied the config.plist from the EFI folder to desktop and ran Hackintool and saw the backup one it created. copied it to EFI folder and renamed it to config.plist. Intel HD4600 showing up now as 1536mb as it should be. Only problem left is the Nvidia 950m showing up though. That is the main thing trying to get figured out. Also any clue what the best SMBIOS to use as well? Does that make any difference also? Attached is copy of config.plist also that I am currently using. config.plist.zip This is the output from Hackintool: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>Devices</key> <dict> <key>Properties</key> <dict> <key>PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x2,0x0)</key> <dict> <key>AAPL,ig-platform-id</key> <data> AAAWBA== </data> <key>device-id</key> <data> EgQAAA== </data> <key>disable-external-gpu</key> <data> AQAAAA== </data> <key>enable-hdmi20</key> <data> AQAAAA== </data> <key>framebuffer-fbmem</key> <data> AACQAA== </data> <key>framebuffer-patch-enable</key> <data> AQAAAA== </data> <key>framebuffer-stolenmem</key> <data> AAAwAQ== </data> <key>framebuffer-unifiedmem</key> <data> AAAAgA== </data> </dict> </dict> </dict> </dict> </plist>
