Itzabo Posted February 3, 2019 Posted February 3, 2019 I'm long time PC Builder venturing into a hackintosh. I have a Dell OptiPlex 990 I got for free so I decided to give it a try. i7 2600 Q67 Chipset I can get Serria or High Serria installed and then I'm able to boot to USB and then Select the HD to boot. How do I get it to boot to the HD without the USB stick in? I have more to worry about but this is 1st on my list. Thanks!!

Pingguo Posted February 6, 2019 Posted February 6, 2019 Hi MaLd0n! I followed this guide for the SandyBridge systems, using your High Sierra image. I'm happy with the results because the Sleep functionallity works correctly, the GPU is recognized and works with Display Port and DVI with dual screens, etc. But I have some problems that I have no idea how to fix (I'm a kinda of noob). I have random freezes in the OS, sometimes they doesn't appears for days, sometimes I can have 2 or 3 in a day, but they are very randomly. I just have to press the reset button in the case, the system is switching off (it doesn't reboot) and press the switch on button again. Sometimes I have to press the switch on button 3 or 4 times to start the computer, other times in the first push it starts inmediately. Another problem is that I've tried to update the system but it seems that never ends, in verbose mode I can see many "EXC_CORPSE_NOTIFY" exceptions like in the screenshot. After some hours trying to finish I had to reboot the computer and when Clover starts appears a new icon, if I try to start from that new icon the update will restart again with the same results. I read that in a succesful update process those icons dissapear form the Clover menu, but in my case they remains there (I have 2 of them from 2 different updates). And finally seems that USB 3.0 doesn't work, probably it can't work because this motherboard is old, so I can live without it, but the USB in the front side of the case also doesn't work with any USB device, 2.0 or 1.0. I used the DSDT included in the Clover Folder for the 6 Series, but I don't know if I should use the Fine Tune DSDT in the Post Installation to fix this issues. I'm using the iMac12,2 SMBIOS. I'll appreciate really much your help. Regards.

student_al Posted February 20, 2019 Posted February 20, 2019 Hi Mald0n, I need help again. In September 2018 (30th page, 5th post) I asked for help from you related to problem with Power Management. You concluded that my problem (probably) is related with old GPU (XFX 5770) and Gigabyte series 6 (please check your messages: https://Olarila.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=50&t=6255&p=60794#p60794 ) Recently I bought new GPU Sapphire Pulse Radeon RX 560 2GB, but my problems with Power Management still persist, and also new problem appear related to color accuracy. Please take a look at pictures that I send. I thought that GPU is defected, so I bought new GPU: MSI RX 560 Aero ITX 4G OC, GPU which is recommended by Apple. ( https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT208898 ). But the change of GPU didn't have any impact to solving problem. I have the same problem with PM. Beside that I have also problem with Clover resolution. My resolution is 800 x 600, and whatever I tried I couldn't change the resolution. About 2 tenth of second before I see desktop, resolution is changing into 2K (2560x1440) resolution. I use Dell U2713HM and when I use DVI port I do not see anything except white layer of fog, when I use Display Port I have problem with color accuracy (please see pictures), and when I use HDMI port I think it works properly, but unfortunately my monitor support only Full HD resolution via HDMI port. I forgot to say I did not see a Gigabyte motherboard logo when boot with a new card. Instead of a motherboard logo, I see set a broken green lines (see pictures please). I would be appreciate a lot if you could you help me with these problems. File with pictures: https://mega.nz/#!GI8hDCRK!u_BNp_5Ac7JUwTj0MNyv1a-GM0btsULJCD7dMlRz53E

student_al Posted February 20, 2019 Posted February 20, 2019 My main problem is “Sleep”. Machine does not want to sleep. When I choose option "Sleep" monitor goes to sleep, but machine is still working as usual.

student_al Posted February 20, 2019 Posted February 20, 2019 Unfortunately it does not work. When my system goes to sleep, it actually shutsdown. The system can only be started if I press Power button. And then it started as it is turning on from the beginning (BIOS logo -- Clover --Apple logo--Desktop). One more thing system do not want to respond on command to sleep two time in row. I need to restart system before I have response on command "Sleep". So, temporary solution with DSDT file does not work.

student_al Posted February 20, 2019 Posted February 20, 2019 All right. Can you help me with problem about "color accuracy"? Sleep is minor, cosmetic issue but problem with GPU is real pain.
