UHD 630 i7 8700 (Coffee Lake) – No display when booting macOS Tahoe installer

Hello everyone,

I’m currently running macOS Sequoia 15.7 on my HP EliteDesk 800 G4 SFF using OpenCore.

Specs:

  • CPU: Intel Core i7-8700 (Coffee Lake, 6 cores / 12 threads)

  • iGPU: Intel UHD 630 (no dedicated GPU)

  • RAM: 32 GB DDR4

  • Storage: 2 × NVMe SSDs (1 × Windows 11, 1 × macOS)

  • Motherboard: Intel 300 Series chipset

  • SMBIOS currently: iMac19,12 (working fine)

Problem
When I try to boot the macOS Tahoe installer, I completely lose display output with my UHD 630 (screen goes black).

What I tried

  • Different SMBIOS values (iMac20,1).

  • Various boot-args for UHD 630 (e.g. -igfxvesa, igfxonln=1, agdpmod=pikera, etc.).

  • Tested different AAPL,ig-platform-id values.

  • Tried multiple device properties in config.plist.

  • None of these attempts worked — I always lose display output.

Questions

  • Is UHD 630 (8th gen Coffee Lake) simply unsupported in Tahoe at the moment?

  • Is there any known workaround or patch (OCLP or other) to make the installer work with UHD 630?

  • Should I just stay on Sequoia until better support is available?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Igpu is ok, the problem was board id check...

Solution, in booter/patch:

 | Apple | Skip Board ID check | 0 | true | 0050006C006100740066006F0072006D0053007500700070006F00720074002E0070006C006900730074 | 0 |  | 002E002E002E002E002E002E002E002E002E002E002E002E002E002E002E002E002E002E002E002E002E |  | 0 | x86_64 |
