luizmeliga Posted August 30, 2025 Posted August 30, 2025 (edited) My old setup was a 8700K with the XFX 6950 XT and iGPU enabled on an iMac19,1 SMBIOS. Graphics acceleration always worked perfectly, and renders in Resolve were fast. I’ve now upgraded to a 14900KF, keeping the XFX 6950 XT, using the MacPro7,1 SMBIOS (I’ve also used it with iMacPro1,1), with iGPU disabled (since this processor doesn't have one) and graphics acceleration working on the XFX 6950 XT, including with CPUFriend, etc. The problem now is that renders in H264 have become much slower than with my previous setup, even though graphics acceleration is working correctly. I did a test using the same Resolve project, exporting a 20-minute video in H264 on both setups. On the 8700K with iGPU + 6950 XT, it took 5 minutes. On the 14900KF (without iGPU) with graphics acceleration on the 6950 XT, it took 15 minutes. My current setup is far superior. Will I never be able to achieve the same performance in H264 exports with graphics acceleration directly on the card, like I had with the iGPU enabled (Quick Sync) on the 8700K?
