Error House Posted November 24 Posted November 24 I am attempting to install macOS Sonoma on my HP EliteBook 830 G5 laptop. It is equipped with an Intel Core i5-8250U processor and has BIOS version Q78 Ver. 01.29.01 (UEFI type). However, I am facing issues related to EFI and am unable to resolve them. I had previously read from ChatGPT that using a Coffee Lake processor might allow for macOS installation, but my laptop has a Kaby Lake Refresh processor. This is causing me to encounter a "POST Error" when attempting to create the EFI partition for macOS installation. I have been struggling with this issue for the past 11 days, and I have been unable to make any progress. I would greatly appreciate it if anyone could provide assistance or share any insights that could help me resolve this issue. I would like to know if there are any specific methods or tips for installing macOS Sonoma with a Kaby Lake Refresh processor. If anyone has successfully installed macOS on this processor or on the HP EliteBook 830 G5, I would be extremely grateful for any guidance or shared experiences. Thank you!

I understand it’s not a complex task for experts like you, but despite 35-40 sincere attempts, I have failed to achieve success. My CPU is an Intel Core i5-8250U, identified as Kaby Lake-R via CPU-Z. I tried both Kaby Lake and Coffee Lake configurations but couldn’t make it work. Could you kindly clarify: Should I use the Kaby Lake or Coffee Lake platform? Are there specific patches or kexts needed for my hardware, especially Intel UHD Graphics 620? Your help would mean a lot to me, and I truly appreciate your time and kindness.
