Alexandros Tselikas Posted January 8, 2024 Posted January 8, 2024 (edited) Hello there, I followed your guide and tried to install Ventura on my desktop. I had some problems with the first installation step stopping in the middle, rebooted and threw a Stop Sign error, cleared NVRAM two times and was able to reboot into the installer, continued to install and then restarted again with the same problem. I was finally able to install it and it sort of works ok. I cloned the EFI folder from the installation drive to the hard drive but I have trouble booting it up. I have to clear NVRAM a lot of times to get it to boot plus I get two options in the boot options, OpenCore EFI and UEFI OS. They seem to work the same but sometimes it fails with OC: Failed to open root FS - Device Error! Clearing NVRAM usually fixes that too. I have disabled all the options in the BIOS that I saw needed to be disabled. People in the internet say it's a kernel panic, how can I see the root cause of it? My Desktop is: i5-13600kf Gigabyte Z790 Gaming X AX rev 1.0 RX 6800 XT 32GB DDR5 BeQuiet Power 10 750W Edited January 8, 2024 by Alexandros Tselikas

Alexandros Tselikas Posted January 8, 2024 Author Posted January 8, 2024 It's a Kingston A2000 1TB M.2 NMVE drive. I've done all the steps except for requesting a DSDT patch and USB port mapping.

Alexandros Tselikas Posted January 8, 2024 Author Posted January 8, 2024 I actually installed it in a SanDisk SSD Ultra 3D 500GB which is plain SATA. My Windows installation is on the NVME drive. Does that make any difference?
Administrators MaLd0n Posted January 9, 2024 Administrators Posted January 9, 2024 Need disable this nvme under macos to check if this problem is that. -Guides and Tutorials HERE -Hackintosh Tutorial Database - HERE -The largest EFI folder collection for Hackintosh HERE -Support Olarila Vanilla Hackintosh by making a donation HERE -Professional Hackintosh Support since 2006 HERE
Alexandros Tselikas Posted January 9, 2024 Author Posted January 9, 2024 I removed it from the motherboard completely. The problem still remains. I tried installing again, same exact issue need to reset nvram twice in each step for it to boot. Here's an error I got after the installer rebooted. 20240109_103151.zip Okay, after a few NVRAM resets it seems to be booting up with the first try, but this is with the NVME unplugged, how can I make it work with the NVMe? Spoke too soon. After a shutdown and a bootup it failed again. Where can I check the logs to see what's up?
Administrators MaLd0n Posted January 9, 2024 Administrators Posted January 9, 2024 First disable verbose mod(-v). In some cases this bootarg cause this problem. CSM need stay disable too. -Guides and Tutorials HERE -Hackintosh Tutorial Database - HERE -The largest EFI folder collection for Hackintosh HERE -Support Olarila Vanilla Hackintosh by making a donation HERE -Professional Hackintosh Support since 2006 HERE
Alexandros Tselikas Posted January 9, 2024 Author Posted January 9, 2024 Removed -v flag, CSM is disabled. Same issue
