FCU4ever Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 I know, but with witch settings have you installed Clover on your USB and on your Yosemite?
oldnapalm Posted March 25, 2015 Author Posted March 25, 2015 I don't remember, Clover installer is updated often. The relevant parts for UEFI boot are described in the opening post. -Guides and Tutorials HERE -Hackintosh Tutorial Database - HERE -The largest EFI folder collection for Hackintosh HERE -Support Olarila Vanilla Hackintosh by making a donation HERE -Professional Consulting for macOS Hackintosh since 2006 HERE
FCU4ever Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 Thank you very much for helping me. Finally i have got a Yosemite install with audio installed But i can't boot Yosemite with this board-id in the config.plist and in /System/Library/Extensions/AppleGraphicsControl.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AppleGraphicsDevicePolicy.kext/Contents/Info.plist Mac-942459F5819B171B none The other board-ID works fine with injected kext in Clover
oldnapalm Posted March 25, 2015 Author Posted March 25, 2015 You have to repair permissions and update kernelcache after editing the kext. -Guides and Tutorials HERE -Hackintosh Tutorial Database - HERE -The largest EFI folder collection for Hackintosh HERE -Support Olarila Vanilla Hackintosh by making a donation HERE -Professional Consulting for macOS Hackintosh since 2006 HERE
FCU4ever Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 Oldnapalm you are my hero. Everything works now. Thank you very much!
youngwake Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 Does anyone know how to fix config.plist not showing up in configurator? When i click on it, configurator stalls. Any ideas?
dipauli Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Hi everyone, Somebody managed to get El Capitan running on the G73SW? I am able to get it installed, but I am running against the USB ports problem and struggling for weeks now.
FCU4ever Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 Hi dipauly, USB3 isn't working for me too. But my graphics card isn't working too.... How did you get that working?
TomTomOne Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 (edited) So this are all the steps I have made: 1) Make bootable USB with unishit of Yosemite 10.10.2 Stuck on Step5 (the same white screen with the spinning beach ball) I did everything the same except that I couldn't make USB from unishit anymore, moved this Yosemite.app to my portableHD right after I downloaded it back then. so instead I ran this command: sudo /Volumes/portableHD/Install\ OS\ X\ Yosemite.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/install_osx --applicationpath /Volumes/portableHD/Install\ OS\ X\ Yosemite.app --nointeraction the USB (/Volumes/install_osx) has only 1 partition (tried GPT/or MBR same white screen) with same way installing clover like you described boot0af.... (target clover install on that partition, nothing on the EFI partition) , 4 clover files , 2 kext, on usb boot go "option/SMBIOS/Board ID" and changed the id before boot. everything looks normal apple logo, and progress bar underneath it, and then the white screen. Just hangs there Update#1: I managed getting the app store to re-download the Yosemite again, Not sure what version, I'm bet it's not 10.10.2 anymore. Anyway, create the disk with unishit, (Tried UEFI or Lagacy), all still the same, both will stuck on that same white screen with the ball, no matter what I do. Update#2: I found the solution of this pesky "grey screen with bitch ball" at this thread So to be short, I follow the their steps troubleshooting, and can stop anytime when it works 1. get rid of all the 10.x folders in kext, and move FakeSMC and other needed kext to the "Other" folder. 2. booted with -v nv_disabled=1 rootless=0 3. Boot with injected kext" from the clover screen to get FakeSMC to be used (hit space bar to see those additional option) Edited March 27, 2016 by Guest
TomTomOne Posted March 27, 2016 Posted March 27, 2016 Got everything working fine now, no complain, just a couple questions about the kinks 1. The USB3 constantly ejected and reconnected all by itself. I'm wondering if the zip file in the beginning of the post contains USB3 driver? Or can I just copy the FrescoUSBxHCI.kext from my previous OS to S/L/E? 2. For the longest time I was so used to have Alt Key as the command Key, and Windows Key as the Alt key, so the layout will be exactly the same as to a real mac keyboard. Is it something I can do and change that? Is the VoodooPS2 in your package the one that does it? How about get rid of it and use the stock ApplePS2Controller...? Thanks for the guide, I'm a bit late just upgraded to Yosemite, wish I have done this earlier Update: Nevermind on the #2, I can remap it in system preference
oldnapalm Posted March 28, 2016 Author Posted March 28, 2016 1. It contains GenericUSBXHCI, it works fine for me. You can try to replace it by your kext. 2. You can edit VoodooPS2Controller.kext/Contents/PlugIns/VoodooPS2Keyboard.kext/Contents/Info.plist and change "Swap command and option". -Guides and Tutorials HERE -Hackintosh Tutorial Database - HERE -The largest EFI folder collection for Hackintosh HERE -Support Olarila Vanilla Hackintosh by making a donation HERE -Professional Consulting for macOS Hackintosh since 2006 HERE
TomTomOne Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 Thanks will definately try the keyboard swap thingy when I get a chance. 1. It contains GenericUSBXHCI, it works fine for me. You can try to replace it by your kext.Nope, tried replacing it and it's not working in Yosemite as it did in ML, but I did find that it seems to be the Apple problem rather than our kext. I'm currently reading this thread with my spared time (slow reader here), so far I tried the privacy thing of the HD in spotlight, no luck! will continue read and see if there's anything else mentioned in that thread. will post in here when I find the solution. BTW, just curious, is the EL Capitan still a no go?
oldnapalm Posted April 4, 2016 Author Posted April 4, 2016 I got El Capitan installed, had to use USB_G73SW.kext and nv_disable=1 to boot the USB installer. Extensions I'm using in 10.11.4 Extensions.zip Changes in config.plist Add rootless=0 to Boot/Arguments Add to RtVariables <key>BooterConfig</key> <string>0x28</string> <key>CsrActiveConfig</key> <string>0x67</string> Add to KextsToPatch <dict> <key>Name</key> <string>AppleHDA</string> <key>Find</key> <data>gxnUEQ==</data> <key>Replace</key> <data>AAAAAA==</data> </dict> The usual edit in /System/Library/Extensions/AppleGraphicsControl.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AppleGraphicsDevicePolicy.kext/Contents/Info.plist is required to boot without nv_disable=1 Add to ConfigMap <key>Mac-942459F5819B171B</key> <string>none</string> USB3 port is not working. -Guides and Tutorials HERE -Hackintosh Tutorial Database - HERE -The largest EFI folder collection for Hackintosh HERE -Support Olarila Vanilla Hackintosh by making a donation HERE -Professional Consulting for macOS Hackintosh since 2006 HERE
TomTomOne Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 It's been a while since my last post, and had tested this Yos.5 in and out, and the USB3 port got knock off randomly is still a no fix, tried everything.... And the whole system is very unstable (noticed that in this build compare to ML, we didn't install any of the Nvidia stuff according to the instruction), and I got OpenGL channel timeout quite often recently. (I think they called it fermi freeze) Tried put in the cuda driver -> no go. And I also kindda remember read it somewhere about the later build like Mav and above, you shouldn't need to do any of the NV stuff. But I guess it doesn't apply to my case. Search online, some say it's flash player caused it, but.... well, it's pretty much built-in on most browser nowadays Note, it's a fresh install from this instruction, and did not migrate anything from previous build. Just wondering, am I missing something about the NV installation/tweaking? Thanks
oldnapalm Posted April 21, 2016 Author Posted April 21, 2016 In Yosemite LegacyAGPM.kext and MacBookPro8_4.plist are required for good NV performance. -Guides and Tutorials HERE -Hackintosh Tutorial Database - HERE -The largest EFI folder collection for Hackintosh HERE -Support Olarila Vanilla Hackintosh by making a donation HERE -Professional Consulting for macOS Hackintosh since 2006 HERE
TomTomOne Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 In Yosemite LegacyAGPM.kext and MacBookPro8_4.plist are required for good NV performance. Both of them are included in your zip file at the beginning of the thread, so I think I'm set on that. So, I wonder if there anything else I can try. Note, Just in case the info of my hardware is: ASUS G73SW-1ATZ Intel Core i7-2630QM, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460M Thanks
