jr3k Posted October 1, 2022 Posted October 1, 2022 I have a hackintosh with Big Sur 11.7 working fine. I have been trying to upgrade to Monterey but I am running into the error below. I have not found a solution, maybe I am not properly searching for it. Any help is appreciated. I am attaching my EFI if that helps EFI-OC84-USBMONTEREY.zip ErrorScreenshot.zip

jr3k Posted October 1, 2022 Author Posted October 1, 2022 I have tried updating all kexts. Result seems to be the same, good with BigSur, crashing trying to upgrade to Monterey EFI_NEW.zip 20221001_185153.pdf.zip

jr3k Posted October 1, 2022 Author Posted October 1, 2022 Just tried now. It passes the error and the verbose mode takes over, but after a little bit it just reboots. I have tried both the Install USB Monterey and the Monterey Installer menu option. Is there a way to get the error log somewhere?

jr3k Posted October 2, 2022 Author Posted October 2, 2022 yes, USB2. I have managed to upgrade to Monterey. I had to reset NVRAM every time there was a new step in the installation. NOw, after the upgrade I can only reach the system login page if I do a NVRAM reset first. Also, the graphics are ''gone'', I have only one monitor out of 3 working. Any ideas? Fixed the Graphic problem by using the Geforce-Kepler-Pacher application. Now I need to see if I can figure it out the boot thing. I have noticed that if I keep trying without resetting nvram, it will eventually boot. Last message I can see on the screen is something to do with AppleKeyStore, something like kernel_relay_enable= 0
jr3k Posted October 2, 2022 Author Posted October 2, 2022 I think I was happy too early with the Geforce patcher. After turning my computer off for a couple of hours, I cannot access it anymore. Keep getting the new attached error. Also, because of that I had to reinstall BigSur, and even though I had a Time Machine backup, apparently now you can only use the Migration option to recover your files. Quite frustrating. I would not mind installing Monterey from scratch, but right now it seems it is not happening on my system. 20221002_123429.jpg.zip

jr3k Posted October 11, 2022 Author Posted October 11, 2022 No, havent been able to. I gave it another try after reinstalling BigSur, but ended up at the same error, and have no idea on how to go about it.
