Zack Black Posted May 10, 2022 Posted May 10, 2022 This is the weirdest issue. I made a USB installer using balenaEtcher and the Olaria Monterey 12.1.raw image and it worked fine the first try. I was able to get the OS installed on a new 1TB SSD and was just to the task of getting my wi-fi card working when I tried to restart and it would no longer boot. I put the USB drive back in and now it just stops loading and throws the prohibitory sign with scrambled text letter. I even tried reformatting the USB drive and reflashing the image but same issue! Reset the BIOS to defaults and and went through all the settings. Tried clearing the nvram in Clover by pressing F11 and restarting - nothing works! How is this possible?? Please assist...

And trying to boot from the exact same USB no longer works. There's no explanation for it. Is there any other data on the PC that could be corrupt/reset? Edited May 10, 2022 by Zack Black
Zack Black Posted May 12, 2022 Author Posted May 12, 2022 SOLVED - I had a wifi card that was randomly causing the kernel panic during bootup. Removing/reseating the card made the issue go away
