Easy way to write a raw image to USB in macOS, Windows or Linux

Use Etcher.app https://etcher.io/

 

-Windows   
https://sourceforge.net/projects/win32diskimager/

 

-macOS (Terminal)
diskutil list
diskutil unmountDisk /dev/diskX  (replace X by the USB stick identifier)
sudo dd if=[drag and drop the raw file in terminal] of=/dev/rdiskX bs=1m  (replace X by the USB stick identifier)

Umm, how about:


Change .raw extension to .dmg


Mount image with Disk Utility -> Restore to Flash Drive.

It won't restore EFI partition and boot sectors (drive won't be bootable on hackintosh).

Am I only one who is having problems to make bootable usb? I write ''% diskutil list'' in terminal and it comes up as no such job.

Is there a fix for that? what am i doing wrong?

Uma pergunta "estúpida": essa imagem raw é para PC Intel apenas ou serve para notebooks também?

Se sim, é só instalar as kexts necessárias para touchpad etc?

Ela instala apenas o sistema original, sem modificações. Você precisa instalar as kexts necessárias para o seu hardware, independente de ser laptop ou desktop. As kexts e boot loader incluídas na imagem servem apenas para o boot do instalador e boot inicial do sistema através do pen drive.

.raw is .dmg, just renamed

use Balena Etcher instead

downloaded the raw file , changed to dmg, made bootable drive with the Ventura install and copied the contents of the

efi, still stuck in boot loop, gets into the 29 minute install portion, then does a continuous restart but never gets to where I can boot from the install drive.. please advise

Windows does not show up my usb drive after I flashed the raw img to usb via Etcher. it does boot up macos and shows in Device manager, but I just cannot see it in windows file explorer. i just wanted to copy my efi folder to the usb. also the efi I made doesnt show internal drives on my laptop, googled a lot but no solution works

is common. is not native things from windows

How do you make MacOS bootable installer for offline install in Windows? I have dmg image of MacOS but Mac installer doesn't see it correctly on USB. 

is there a step by step how to do this on Windows?
