startrax Posted July 29, 2013 Author Posted July 29, 2013 okay so i updated to 10.8.4 and get black screen. But i am testing this laptop with no internal monitor.Internal Monitor is out.I'm trying through VGA and HDMI ports.I am using a 42inch LG TV and i think LG TV should be displaying in system info. The OS boots up fine up until monitor detection at the end of its boot thats when i get no video signal on tv. boot flags -x or -f same cant get in OSX. startrax Posted July 30, 2013 Author Posted July 30, 2013 Acer 8730g 17 inch Core 2 duo 2.4 ghz Geforce 9600M GT 512mb (originally had a Radeon Mobility 3650) GraphicsEnabler=Yes No NvEnablers Ok i got full graphics acceleration.Updated to 10.8.4 was only getting black screen on VGA and HDMI.I know OS X was detecting card but something was not right. So i updated the VGA bios to a newer version. When i booted back up screen resolution was at 1920x1080x32.I have been trying everything with this card EFI string you name it.I think OS X does not like certain bios in certain vga cards.Remember what i said about LG TV in profile? Now it is there. You can also see the difference in rom version.VGA only works and black screen with HDMI.
