Random reboots on laptop 'HP EliteBook 840r G4' (Monterey)

Hi! I got a 'HP EliteBook 840r G4' notebook and I managed to install 'Olarila Monterey 12.3' on it with OpenCore.

After a few tweaks everything works. That is audio, wifi, graphics, bluetooth and so on.

However I still got this error, the laptop decides to shutdown and reboot randomly.

The reboots seem to be somewhat random. But if I play a 4K video on YouTube for a while it always freezes up and reboots within seconds. Anyone know what could be wrong here?

Okay so I found what caused the kernel panic on Monterey 12.3.

It was the 'itlwm.kext'. Apparently, Monterey 12.3 and ‘Ethernet l225V’ causes crashes. Itlwm spoofed the Wi-Fi as an Ethernet device, maybe that’s the problem. I tried to add boot-arg ‘e1000=0’ , but that did not work. I uninstalled the 'itlwm.kext' and only use my ethernet for now.

Thanks!

AirportItlwm.kext actually do seem to be working on this HP Elitebook with Monterey 12.3.

If there’s anyone in a similar situation just also remember update to the latest OpenCore version and do this change in config.plist:

Root -> Misc -> Security -> SecureBootModel (type:String, value “Default”)
