Hello everybody,

I'm managed to install ML on my NP550P5C with GT630M and the biggest problem that i'm having with the graphics.

I've read all of the instructions on this page:

http://Olarila.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1583

Patched my DSDT,generated EFI-string, ig-platform-id 16000004 seems to works fine for me(the others are not working, completely black screen or red flickering)

BUT

I can see that the graphics are enabled but there's a white-gray linear tint on the screen.

Seems that I cannot fix that and I don't have any graphics options in my BIOS.

I took a photo for you to see, what it looks like

Please help ASAP, I'm trying about 2 weeks to get it solved but I can't..

Hey there, I have the same graphics card issues, the HD4000 and GT640M LE, how did you get the nvidia graphics card to work? I can't get past the chameleon verbose menu... It gets stuck at Nve7 Nvidia GT640M LE pci root 0x02 .... Can you show me how you patched yours.

to boot try to remove the appleintelhd*.* in the installer

-f -v GraphicsEnabler=No

good hack

Hey artur, thanks for replying.

After injecting device properties (ID:04) in boot.plist, I'm able to boot and i can see that intel hd 4000 is running (in system info it shows 512mb intel hd 4000). My problem is the display is distorted with white and grey lines. I have so far tried editing EDID, editing appleintelframebuffercapri, and appleintelsnbgraphicsfb kexts. I Know that nvidia doesnt work :). I get same display problem as given in the image link in the 1st post http://imgim.com/7544incif4741799.jpg.

Please help me and thanks.

Ok i thought it is EDID fault. but Mac is picking up the right EDID (checked with windows). One thing i noticed is when i type ioreg -l in terminal and search for the line "IODisplayPrefsKey" i find "AppleDisplay-4ca3" instead of AppleBacklightDisplay-xxxx. Is this something to worry about?

P.S: I dont have BIOS option to disable NVIDIA or set DVMT or internal VRAM size.

darkclever or naazgulla,

I was wondering if you had ever managed to get this resolved for the HD4000? I have pretty much the exact same problem on a Surface Pro in using the 04 id-platform-id. I have also tried AppleIntelFrameBufferCapri edits for the ports and different EDIDs. The surface pro uses a Samsung monitor so that might be something the two devices have in common.

Thanks.
