Takes a very long time to boot after installing audio kext

Recommended Posts

I just installed the Realtec ALC662 Audio Kext from here :http://www.osx86.net/downloads.php?do=file&id=3293

After installing it using the KextBeast, the audio works but the booting takes a very long time. When im in the login screen, I can't use the mouse. Also when im typing the password I can't see the dots (can't see it typing). But if I blindly type the password and hit enter, after a long time (about 20 seconds), it goes to the desktop. How to fix this?

repair the permissions and rebuild your cache.

boot with -v (verbose mode) observe that line stands.

and I return with a printscreen in verbose mode.

Still not working :(

Before it displayed the last line (the ethernet line), it took a long time (several seconds (like 20 seconds...)). After that I get the login screen. Before I installed audio kext, I installed the network kext and it worked fine. Didn't got this delay before with the network.

After this boot screen is finished, it gives the mac login screen. In here, I won't et the mouse pointer. When I type the password, I can't see the password. But if I type the password (i can't see the dots, nothing is happening) and hit enter blindly, it will go to the desktop in about 2 minutes! But the sound is now working!

When removed, things are working fine. The kext say its OSX 10.8.2... Also tried another kext for audio and that one also gave the same problem :(

I see HDAEnabler messages twice on your picture, maybe you have it in two places?

Try using HDEF patch in DSDT instead of HDAEnabler.

Can you please tell me how to do it? After installing OSX, I didn't deal with DSDT files (Don't know how). Installed easy beast and the chameleon boot loader (the pkg)

Apply HDEF patch in DSDT with layout-id 12 (0x0C).

For this, i didn't use a dsdt. The auther of the audio kext say that we don't need a DSDT. In the installation, i never used a dsdt file :)

I told you before

Apply HDEF patch in DSDT with layout-id 12 (0x0C).

This kext won't work with 0x296, it must be 0x0C.

Here's a DSDT.sml that I just tried. Applied the ALC662 patch to it. When I use it without the previous kexts, the booting issue is fixed but no sound :(

This is your DSDT.aml fixed.

put in the Extra folder.

0 errors, 0 Warnings, 0 Remarks.

Test and return with the results.

Hi, I just pasted the patched dsdt.aml to the Extra folder while using the audio Kext (I linked in the first post). After rebooting, the system won't start. It got stuck in the boot screen. Then I used the installer USB's terminal and remved the Kext and replaced the AppleHDA kext with the original one. Still its not booting :( Then I removed both the Kext (added the original one) and also deleted the dsdt.aml. Still the system won't boot. Tried the safemode (-x) and tried the boot flags (DSDT=No -f -v)... Still not working!

Here are some screenshots :

1) In here, I used the pernacabeluda's DSDT and the patched AppleHDA kext:

2) In here, I used Mirone's DSDT with the original AppleHDA kext that came with the OS:

3) After removing the DSDT and even trying the safe mode, I get this :
