Patch request for DSDT

Recommended Posts

Hi everybody,

I am trying to install an hackintosh into my system.

Config: MSI Bigbang xpower (MS-7666)

CPU Intel i7 950

Cyclone GTX 460 1024MB

The process is very clear but I have a few questions and I hope someone could “enlighten” me.

I need to have a DSDT file for my motherboard but as it is not listed, I would need to create one. From this guide, I need a patch specific for the motherboard. However it is not listed and I need to request one or can I just make one on my own (http://Olarila.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=19).

I have seen thois thread about a patch for the same MOBO but I just want to make sure it woule be working.. Aso, will the sound work with this patch? (http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/283153-help-making-a-patch-for-msi-big-bang-x-power-ms7666-dsdt/)

Sorry if the questions sounds stupid for some of you.

Thanks very much.

Click on the link http://Olarila.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=634 and extract a DSDT, save it as .dsl format and attach it here.

MSI boards don't support Power management OOB. you need to patch the BIOS or patch powermanagement kext. Read the below thread for more info.

Thank you for your answer. I will post the file tonight. Then I will flash a modified Bios.

From the link you provided it mentions 3 different way to get the power management working. Should I go for the:

Using a patched appleintel kext means sleep and power management works, however after every update the kext has to be replaced (in the same way audio kexts have to be reselected)

As once I have installed the OS X Snow Leopard + OS X 10.6.7 combo update, I will probably not get anymore updates.

Thanks again.

Edit: Update, just found out that I would need the 10.6.8 combo update for what I want to do on the OS.
