We can use 12,1,2, and 3 or any other number of kext in Lion.

From the Mountain Lion version it requires is a layout native

  before we could use to layout887 codec ALC887 kext of the Mountain Lion

this is no longer possible.

Forgive me, but I think I didn't quite understand this right. By native you mean that the layout id must exist inside the resources folder? that means that as long as we can edit any layout inside the resources folder it should work? because right now in Mountain lion even I am on layout id 12.

@overclockthesun

yes, native is anyone inside the resource folder.

You can continue to try using 12 or 1,2,3 ...

Try other and observe the results.

Cool, I always wondered why the guide said layout id 12. I thought that something fixed. Its good to know. I edited the applehda kext so it is the new 10.8.4 version. now I can boot with kernel and kext caches. Finally my SSD is put to good use.

I will try with other layoutid to test this out.

@assxande

Estou mandando o codec_dump do linux.
