You have Dual Link Patch on your DSDT.aml?

 

Hi Mirone, its been a while since you asked me about the dual-link so here goes.

1) I did the dual-link DSDT edit ...copied it from DSDT for probook 4530 as most of the stuff is the same (except audio ) :- I get the same reuslt. ... A grey screen always happens with dual-link edit for me. Solution to this was to just remove the line for dual-link and leave the graphics-id and platform-id in the DSDT edit. Now I have full HDMI Video.... scaling works too no hanging on mirroring too.

2) After 10.8.4, I get funny red selection box on anything pictures or icons in my system. Don't know why. mostly happens on thumbnails only.

3) Patched my EDID to get a custom one by using monitor id and entechtaiwans monitor utility. Its a different backlight display compared to other HP models it seems.

4) HDMI Audio is not working I tried with windows and it works .... maybe I need to patch another node in my platform.xml?? I saw another node 14 (working audio one is 13, if you remember on dv6) which also is stereo out.

5) Even after EDID fix, I still get graphic glitches on and off? Its weird, dunno why.

Any ideas on hdmi audio fix? I tried patching snbgraphics.kext but the old and new output is exactly the same ...following the thread on this forum. and bcc9. Please help me out and thanks for your help till date.

If you need any files for reference, let me know. I have saved everything from my codecverbs to the edid details file.

Hi Mirone,

I tried the kext, but no HDMI Audio still. Now all other audio works too. No more sudden loss of sound. Logicpro works fine too. Just HDMI Audio is not working.

EDIT: FOrgot to ask, but remember in the previous post I attached my codecgraph folder. Well inside it there are 2 codecdumps right. One is the IDT audio and one is intel cougar point 80862805. Does this have any effect on the audio or video?

I followed your guide today since its a holiday. Upon understanding my verbs I decided to edit platform.xml and play around a bit.

Previously while booting, my console log would show a sound assertion at line 17531 ...after edit it shows this now.

I don't know if its progress or not, had sound for 10seconds after booting but now....its gone. Gonna try some more and post results here.

Yes, I used the kext + dsdt you sent me. Same as before. Everything works except maybe external mic and HDMI Audio. The console log I posted above is the output I got after playing around with the guide you pointed me to. I a "Sound assertion" in the log an error or sign that something is workinggPS: After editing the kext with other nodeids ... now I have headphone sound but nothing else. Am going back to your kext. Just need HDMI Audio working.

Hi Mirone,

I am using Intel HD 3000 onboard only. The AMD 6490M is a no go. I tried to get it working, but this horrible hp insyde bios won't let me dump the bios. Tried every method possible. Fianlly used the phoenix bios tool. Unfortunately, the dump comes up with errors. Its completely locked down. have a post about this on im but this card is not going to work. So I stick with hd 3000 only. Logicpro works fine with it so no problems for with hd 3000. Changed my famebuffers around a bit today but no luck with hdmi audio.

Tenta essa kext+DSDT e me diga se funcionou, após instalar repare as permissões e reconstrua caches e ao invés de reiniciar deslique o notebook por 40segundos e ligue novamente.

Also, There was no automatic Monitor Mirroring. I have fixed that by adding "01168086" without "0x" to IOPCIPrimaymatch in AppleHD3000Graphics.kext. Now it starts with mirroring enabled. Did the same for Snbgraphics kext.

I have one question for you if you can answer it.... here is my codecgraph pic.

As you can see there are so many nodes ..... why is it that all the ones named N/A within the box, if I add them to pathmap just turn off audio completely? So does it mean that only nodes which are clearly labelled like for eg... node 15 (int speakers) will work? Please let me know.... I am trying to learn.

Finally I just want to thank you once again for all your help. I understand the time you put in to help people like me out. This stuff is quite time consuming.

It took me ages to research all this. And the editing takes quite some time until you figure it out. The only thing that sped things up was Xtrafinder as I can just open a terminal window in a folder and quickly inflate and deflate the zlib files. I will pass around your help to me to the community in some form or the other by being active.

If you remember my thread for audio on tony's site, I will complete a guide tonight for the DV6 series. There are some differences in the motherboards between Probook and Dv6/7 series even though it is exactly the same ...point to be noticed is Mickey1979's codecgraph here http://imageshack.us/a/img835/7218/codecdumpdectxt.png

Will also make one with xHack on insanely.... will give you the due credit for everything you have helped me with.

Bom dia @Mirone, não funcionou de nenhuma maneira ..... Testei com o dsdt e applehda e nem o som foi reconhecido. Com o meu dsdt com hdef 12, e as kexts AppleHDA.kext, IOAudioFamily.kext, LegacyHDA_ALC662-v.1.kext o som sai apenas no fone de ouvido e apresenta alguns erros no log. Vou passar alguns prints, blz ..... Obrigado ....

So the active nodes are all thats needed... good to know. Yeah Toleda jsut explained it in detail. Very noob friendly. However, everyhwere else if you see, the edit is to get rid off the line with 0205 completely ...thats why I couldn't get it to work before. Even on osxlatitude website, the edit called for 08 00 00 00 06 00 ....whereas in case of toledas page, there is no need for 06 00. just leave it at 07 00.

The part I am still trying to understand is this "EDPD would 01570c02" ????

OBS: Testei essa kext http://www.osx86.net/downloads.php?do=file&id=4072 e editei o dsdt conforme explicado e funcionou .... mas tenho esse erro: Sound assertion "0 == hdaGfxCandidate" failed in AppleHDAController at line 1096 goto Exit

Pode me orientar como acertar isso?
