Thanks Maldon ... this worked for me with Monterey. It's gonna be a pain if Apple keeps making these changes.

Enjoy!

No. It works. As Rehabman described it "The effect is to route any USB2 devices attached to the USB2 pins on the XHC ports to EHC1. In other words, handle USB2 devices with the USB2 drivers instead of the USB3 drivers (AppleUSBEHCI vs. AppleUSBXHCI)."

Tested it already. See the screenshot. It is the only way I found that got the 6 USB 3.0 ports under XHC with this series 9 motherboard. Any other methods it displays like the screenshot I showed in previous message.

All 6 USB 3.0 work at correct speed. The USB 2.0 ports are under EHC and the only "problem" is that the devices are not shown in Hackintool but are shown in System Report.

This method is unnecessary with motherboards newer than series 9 (I think.)

@ MaLd0n

You are absolutely right. Have gone back to your 2021 USB mapping method. The problem with my system is the Z97 which mixes the XHC and EHC stuff. The dsdt.aml you created for me was the Key as it got rid of the EHC stuff and left it with XHC. That solved the problem. Thanks! You're the man!

Hi! Thank you so much.

My current issue is it seems I have too many ports? When I leave my few HS ports & USR1/USR2 excluded - after reboot - It only leaves me room for three SS USB3 ports. Currently, I have to exclude more HS ports to allow for more SS ports after reboot. Excluding HS ports removes the USB2 functionality of the port but gains USB 3 functionality for another port.

My motherboard has eight external USB3 ports, and two external USB2 ports. It also has two USB 3 internal ports - so 10 USB3 ports total.

That sounds like it would be 22 USB ports (10 USB3 + 12 USB2 Ports) (If the USB3 Ports are considered backwards compatible with USB2 and will accept both devices)

Is there a way to increase the port limit? Or will I have to pick & choose which ports to be USB2 and USB3 via excluding more HS ports?

Thank you!

Also try new USBinjectAll.kext 0.77 and XHCI -unsupported.kext , no lucky.

what can be wrong here?

On my Gigabyte Z490I Aorus Ultra with macOS Monterey 12.3.1, all USB ports are only recognized as USB 2.0. A USB 3.0 and Type-C are not recognized and do not work. What could be the reason?

Hi MaLd0n,

While copying form usb3 drive the pen drive gets ejected frquently. The drive is still there but it shows message "the drive not ejected properly". All my usb3 ports shows this same message while copying from it. No problem with usb2 drives. usb3 shows 5Gbps in Hackintool and performs very fast.

Error Message : The operation cannot be completed because an unexpected error occurred(error code : 100006)

I followed your video using Hackintool

Olarila Monterey 12.3.1

i3 10105F, gigabyte h410m, geforce gt 710

I tried the same procedure in another system with gigabyte Z590, but still the same result.

please help

I tried mapping, restarting, cleaning , refreshing, USBInjectAll.kext, XHCI-unsupported.kext, SSDT-UIAC . But, I still don't see the SS ports in Hackintool and my usb 3 ports only go up to 480 Mbps. What else can I do or what am I doing wrong? Please help.

I tried this with my new Monterey installation (upgraded from Catalina), putting them both into the kexts/other folder in Clover, booting up using -f arg and doing the kext cache rebuild in terminal and rebooting, and it didn't make any difference. The USBInjectAll kext I had previously was slightly older and I didn't have the XHCI-unsupported kext. I haven't built an SSDT for USB yet. Do I need to install the kexts using OC configurator or some other app? I was able to use nearly all my USB ports for SSDs but only the 3.2 red ports worked for my WD external drives, but after using a WD My Book strangely I can't get the external drives to work with 3.2 anymore, the My Book works on USB 2.0 front i/o only and the MyPassport drives won't work with anyt USB port until I boot up my machine in Mojave using the previous EFI. Very strange!!
