After installing OS X, you must take the following steps:

* - Install the boot loader (Clover or Chameleon)

Clover

http://Olarila.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=3198

Chameleon (you can use the installer pkg or Chameleon Wizard)

Installer (pkg)

Chameleon Wizard

http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/257464-chameleon-wizard-utility-for-chameleon/

Even if you install from pkg, you can still use the Wizard to configure boot options (org.chameleon.Boot) and SMBIOS.

Install FakeSMC.kext (mandatory) and NullCPUPowerManagement.kext (until you fix power management)

Use Kext Wizard to install kexts (/System/Library/Extensions)

Hey,

After installation of OS X, I am having issues installing anything to manage my kexts. when i try installing kext manager, it tells me "Kext Wizard" cannot be opened because it is from an unidentified publisher. What do I do?

Figured it out. Sorry for the premature question.

Hello there!

My setup is: Acer 7750G, Intel Core i7(2Ghz), 4Gb DDR3 ram, Intel HD3000 + AMD Radeon HD 6650M(2Gb), Athereos WLan+Lan, Realtek Sound etc...

I'm stuck with the installation of Chameleon, please help me!

It's installed and I've already fixed boot0:error but my problem is that it skipps the boot GUI where I could choose boot partition and always boots Windows8.

I've tried to edit org.cham.bootplist with Chameleon Wizard, but it didn't had default boot partition enabled so I couldn't fix by just clicking on the checkbox. (GUI is enabled, timeout is disabled). So the only thing I can see is "boot0:done" and windows flag.

Any suggestions are appriciated!

Regards,

Zsolt

I installed OSX from this guide: http://www.Olarila.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=3101

Than I installed a Disk driver from easybeast to solve boot0:error (cause nothing else did help), but I didn't know that this might cause incompatibility. Shall I remove it somehow?

Do you know any other decent methods to handle boot0:error problem? (I have one HDD in my laptop with win8+shared_media+osx partitions.)

(Also I didn't know that installing stuff from other sites is forbidden/unsupported, sorry for that, as you can see I'm a noob.)

Hello,

I have just installed Mountain Lion 10.8.4 with the Olarila's USB image.

My goal is to have a dual boot including Windows 7 and Mac OS X, so I followed this tutorial to do so:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/djt18o0k8288yzp/Guide%20with%20Pictures.pdf

Essentially, what the tutorial says and what I have done is this:

1. Boot from USB to Mac OS X installer.

2. Go to Disk Utilities and set 2 partition scheme:

  • Mac OS X (HFS+ Journaled)

  • Windows 7 (MS FAT)

I also added a new MS FAT partition in order to store data, not another OS. So I selected a 3 partition scheme.

3. Turn off and install Windows 7 in the partition already created.

4. Install Windows 7 drivers (while I think that this is optional in this stage).

5. Turn off and boot the Mac OS X installer from the USB.

6. Install Mac OS X in the Mac OS X partition already created.

7. Run the already installed Mac OS X in the HD by using the bootloader that automatically starts with the USB thumb.

8. Download multishit and install all new drivers (but it doesn't install Chameleon from multishit).

In this point, the guide says that in the next reboot you won't need to boot from the USB, since Chameleon will run from the HD and you will be able to select which OS to boot.

To check it, I reboot my computer and Chameleon doesn't run, and when I say it doesn't run I don't mean it only appears for a little time: it just doesn't start. So the chain is: Turn On -> POST -> Windows 7, as Windows 7 loads just after the POST. Not Chameleon anywhere.

Then, I think that a manual installation would be good so I boot Mac OS X from the USB thumb, download the latest Chameleon and installed it (in a very Windowish way: "next-next-next..", as I have seen in some tutorials).

To check if it works, I reboot again and... no Chameleon at all: Turn On -> POST -> Windows 7 again.

The same thing ocurrs with other versions of Chameleon (including the multishit version), Chimera and Clover. Also tried to install Chameleon on Windows and, of course, didn't work.

I must say that, in the point 2 (partitions), the guide claims for a GUID scheme. I tried it with GUID and also from MBR, both from scratch, with the same results.

Any idea?

P.S: I post this here because artur_pt linked me here, I hope this is not wrong.

Thanks!

I need a little help

Firstly, why when I reset OS X 10.8.5 reset and BIOS. Do we need a kekt?

Secondly, where can I find drivers for NVidia GeForce 9800 GT 1024MB. Or does anyone have.

Thank you.

No you do not need a kext,if you already have adequate.

From your graphic card use OSX86 Tool apps and use a strings from your card!

Hello

Only to fix some things.

Firstly, why when I reset OS X 10.8.5 reset and BIOS. Do we need a kekt?

You need patch your DSDT with Reset CMOS patch, will be fix this problem.

Secondly, where can I find drivers for NVidia GeForce 9800 GT 1024MB. Or does anyone have.

All kext are in OSX inside S/L/E folder.

You need active it. GraphicsEnabler=Yes in org.chameleon... manually or with Chameleon Wizard app.
