jordo_6
Hello, I've just updated to Big Sur and all seems well apart from WIFi and Airdrop. I have a card from a 2014 macbook pro that has worked fine in catalina. I'm hoping a DSDT may fix the issues. Thankyou. jordo_6
Awesome thank you It's seemed to boot but still no luck with wifi/airdrop/handoff If it helps, the broadcom card from the macbook is being used in a pci-e card all working in catalina. any direction you could possibly lead me please? jordo_6
Tried with the re upload but it still isn't picking up Wifi, thought the icon has always been showing up, just no picking any signals and no option for airdrop. I have it in the pci-e x1 slot furthest away from cpu. Bluetooth working fine as I'm typing from a magic keyboard. I followed the OC vanilla guide correctly I assume as I've never had any booting issues since moving to big sur. just the broadcom card ? Thanks for all the help so far! jordo_6
I feel bad for having to respond so much. Still no luck, if it makes any difference, the original intel wifi 6 card isn't in the slot (orginally tried the mac card with converter in there before finding out it's not the same and didn't read the card) the pci card that I have the broadcom in also has a cable that goes to a usb head on the board, was the only one I was able to find at the time. when I was trying to get it all going with clover and catalina, I did find that I had mine set as an imac not macpro, though im sure this may not matter for the fix, its all I can think of mentioning at this point from just looking at differences, I know i had different usb kext when on catalina and clover to whats being using now in OC/bigsur. Catalina only had USBPorts.kext, USBInjectAll.kext in OC/Bigsur Might not be relevant though

jordo_6
Hey again, its been a little bit and everything has been functioning great! I do have one more thing though, I can't get the internal GPU to show, I feel like it's what is stopping side car to function, as I have had it working in the past, though not with big sur. TIA! jordo_6
its enabled in bios, ah, I should make sure its checked in the config file itself? I thought igpu was already required for other services, as I've always thought I had to be leaving it on, and is the only thing I can put side car not working to. jordo_6
Hey again, sorry to bump post but been trying to fix an issue all day. Booted into windows for the first time this year and let it do updates. after some issues I got it working but also updated bios for some of its power management fixes. though after getting windows all sorted, booting back into mac just broke. ultimately to the point where I can only get into macos via booting from my USB (EFI from before you helped me in this thread) I'm unable to fix this and feel that redoing the EFI is my only option? I made sure bios settings are as they were before bios update, but it seems I broke something in the mac os EFI at the moment still booting with the usb's config but this macs the os show as imac instead of the mac pro as well as a different string of serial, I ideally want to keep what I had before but if a fresh rebuild of the efi is the way to go, I'll just have to live with that. Can i please have some help, should I resend a IOreg? or are their other suggestions? TIA here is a re run if this helps using a broadcom card from a mbp 2014 on riser card, air drop etc worked after you had sent me an additional patch, still wasn't able to get igpu to show within mac Send me Jordos-Mac-Pro.zip Edited February 11, 2021 by jordo_6

jordo_6
Thank you, I've been trying for over the last 12 hours myself and still pretty stuck. I can boot but smbios is still imac. I still don't have wifi working for airdrop etc but from what i've read, I assume igpu isn't to worry about due to a part of the lilu.kext, hence no sidecar on latest big sur? have been using open tree all after noon compairng working config to the one that was working before (what i assume the cause) i updated my bios firmware. I was hoping to keep the original serial i had setup with the mac pro 7.1 smbios (only as this is what it was set via your upload I'm pretty sure?) but I'm sure I can change that later, though I did read that some recommend imac for compatibility? Sorry, trying to work it out as much as I can myself, Only really get two days a week to have good play with it all lately. Thanks again, hopefully I wont be asking too many more questions soon
