It's something to do with these entries. If they're disabled, I get audio but no brightness overlay. If they're enabled, I get brightness overlay but no audio on cold boot. I have tried disabling one at a time but same issue after second boot (thought I fixed as audio came back on one boot but lost it on the next).

Audio is working though with one of the configs I posted. I just don't know what settings are making it work. I did say to inject layout id 13 but I lose audio after cold boot. With the working config, audio works all the time but I don't have brightness overlay. I would prefer to use the config with the working brightness overlay and then change the settings to get audio working, I just don't know which settings.

[ref]MaLd0n[/ref], could you please help me with audio? I am still stuck without audio device on cold boot. I did find that other config which did work but then my brightness doesn't work properly and I get no overlay when the keys are pressed. I updated my current config to inject IntelGFX for correct detection of HD5500 and also changed my SMBIOS to MacBookAir7,2 but still no audio after trying to copy a lot of things from the other config. I worked out how to patch with Hackintool (overwrite existing config to update devices) but still can't get audio with this config and I don't know why. Archive.zip

I think I found a fix. Found this config that retains audio after cold boot. Also correctly identifies my HD5500. SMBIOS is different but I also found this patch; change B0D3 to HDAU from 42304433 to 48444155 which is the only thing I can think of. config.plist.zip

I'm at a loss for audio. I don't know why the device disappears after cold boot. Hackintool doesn't detect it. I had played with layout-id and leaving inject blank and I get audio on 3, 13 & 23 AFTER booting into Ubuntu live USB. Cold boot = No audio, no device detected. I tried removing the device from properties and injecting, same deal. The device was working fine in Ubuntu 18.10

Honestly, I don't know how. I have gone through all the options but the config it generates is still incomplete.

It's ALC288. Works without inject but only after loading Ubuntu live USB. I am using vanilla AppleHDA, latest AppleALC also have CodecCommander and HDAS to HDEF patch.

How are you so quick haha. I will have to update kexts later, Hackintool is crashing when downloading some. Still lost audio and backlight setting after cold boot but now keyboard shortcut keys for brightness aren't working.

Help with Dell XPS 13 9343 FHD please I've copied a dump from avatecer on tonycrap which has gotten me 99% done. 3 issues; [list=]No audio after cold boot - Works fine after restart but otherwise have to load Ubuntu live USB to restore Battery life is pretty poor compared to Windows and Ubuntu Backlight defaults to max on restart I just updated the BIOS to A18 incase that may have fixed audio so it'll be different to the patched ACPI. Also, with the audio, noticed I had a similar issue to someone else where it showed 2 devices so HDMI audio may be causing a problem. I don't know if they got it resolved but they may not be on 14.4 Thanks in advance! Send me Dell XPS 9343.zip

MacOS Mojave 10.14.4 is out - is it safe to upgrade ?
Akshunhiro replied to Morselina's topic in Mojave (10.14)
Sorry for the late reply, no I haven't patched anything with Hackintool. I have a feeling my USB ports aren't working though but my hack runs headless so it's no big deal for me at the moment. I'll have a play with it and let you know. Seems like there's a lot I can omit from my config that the new WEG & Lilu will take care of. My UHD 630 is working fine so I'll update you if I manage to break it -

Well, that was easy. Was just Clover. Not sure why it didn't work earlier but downloaded using the link MaLd0n posted and it's all good. -

Thanks! I'm at work at the moment but I tried via my Mac Mini on High Sierra onto my clone drive and directly from the OS after booting from my clone drive. I made sure to check I was booting from the correct boot device to ensure it was using the new version but Clover Configurator still said it was the older version. I'll have a play when I get home and provide updates! -

Glad to see you got it working. I have the same problem. Everyone recommended upgrading Clover but I couldn't see any changes were made. I was able to boot off a cloned drive and Clover said it was still the older version and that it hadn't upgraded after installing so the boot.efi makes sense. -

Fixed a typo and added more, definitely not close to port limit now HackMini:~$ ioreg | grep XHC | | +-o XHC@14 <class IOPCIDevice, id 0x10000026e, registered, matched, active, busy 0 (460 ms), retain 17> | | | +-o XHC@14000000 <class AppleIntelCNLUSBXHCI, id 0x1000002c5, registered, matched, active, busy 0 (456 ms), retain 195> | | | +-o HS07@14100000 <class AppleUSB20XHCIPort, id 0x1000002e7, registered, matched, active, busy 0 (55 ms), retain 15> | | | +-o HS08@14200000 <class AppleUSB20XHCIPort, id 0x1000002e8, registered, matched, active, busy 0 (58 ms), retain 15> | | | +-o USR1@14300000 <class AppleUSB20XHCIPort, id 0x1000002e9, registered, matched, active, busy 0 (0 ms), retain 11> | | | +-o USR2@14400000 <class AppleUSB20XHCIPort, id 0x1000002ea, registered, matched, active, busy 0 (0 ms), retain 11> | | | +-o SS01@14500000 <class AppleUSB30XHCIPort, id 0x1000002ec, registered, matched, active, busy 0 (134 ms), retain 18> | | | +-o SS02@14600000 <class AppleUSB30XHCIPort, id 0x1000002ed, registered, matched, active, busy 0 (138 ms), retain 11> | | | +-o SS05@14700000 <class AppleUSB30XHCIPort, id 0x1000002ee, registered, matched, active, busy 0 (0 ms), retain 11> | | | +-o SS06@14800000 <class AppleUSB30XHCIPort, id 0x1000002ef, registered, matched, active, busy 0 (0 ms), retain 11> | | +-o AppleUSBXHCI@14000000 <class AppleUSBController, id 0x1000002fa, registered, matched, active, busy 0 (21 ms), retain 13> | | +-o AppleUSBXHCI Root Hub Simulation@14000000 <class AppleUSBRootHubDevice, id 0x1000002fb, registered, matched, active, busy 0 (0 ms), retain 11> Works fine after sleep and wake! Thanks guys, weird but it's working now after using exclude the ports I'm not using rather than include the ones I am... Working with; "uia_exclude=HS01;HS02;HS03;HS04;HS05;HS06;HS09;HS010;SS03;SS04;SS07;SS08;SS09;SS10"

Hmmm, doesn't seem to be working. I deleted my existing entry for Mojave under kexts to patch "Find: 83 FB 0F 0F 83 03 05 00 00 Replace: 83 FB 0F 90 90 90 90 90 90" and added "uia_include=SS01;SS02;SS05;SS06;HS07;HS08" in boot arguments but it doesn't seem to have any effect. I looked at RehabMan's guide and, holy shit, pretty complex.

Thank you! All seems fine except USB. USB3 devices aren't being detected in the USB3 ports but USB2 is fine. Weird thing is, I can move a device from the USB2 port to USB3 and it works right away.

[ref]MaLd0n[/ref], I have audio! New dump attached. Send me HackMini.zip

Thanks so much for your time and effort. I found motherboard BIOS had reset back to F6 (I had the choice when updating of doing Fast or Intact) so updated again to F11. Found the video guide for "RunMe.app in Mojave" so that's working fine now. Posted the zip in the DSDT patch thread! Do donations go to the whole team?

Haha, no problem. Still no good unfortunately A heap of ACPI errors... I tried my previous EFI folder and added your patched DSDT but same problem
-
No good unfortunately. KP looped a few times and then got a AsusNBFnKeys: Cannot find the method ALSS. error before another KP.

Thanks onemanosx, origin.zip
