Choppy video and choppy response in Sonoma after downtime
jotaperez replied to jotaperez's topic in Sonoma (14)
Thanks @MaLd0n I was testing the equipment with your EFI folder for CometLake, with iMacPro1,1 switches and it works perfectly, without lags or stutters. What I want to ask you (more than anything to know and learn a little more) is why you always recommend iMacPro1,1 smbios for computers with igpu and dgpu instead of the ones that are supposed to go because they are more in line with the hardware of the computer ( iMac19.1, 19.2, 20.1 or 20.2). Thank you in advance -

Hi! I am having a problem with my external USB drives. Sonoma simply does not recognize them either by disk utility or by using the diskutil list command in the terminal. I don't know if it has anything to do with it but I suspect that this started when I changed the switch from iMac20.1 to iMacPro1.1 since before the disks were recognized without a problem. In Windows and Linux the disks are recognized without problem. I will appreciate your help.

Choppy video and choppy response in Sonoma after downtime

Thanks @MaLd0n for your response. One question: Should I just change the smbios model and add the boot argument it tells me to my config.plist file? I ask you because in "DeviceProperties" I have the following configuration: PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x2,0x0) AAPL,ig-platform-id = 0300C89B And this configuration is for CPUs that have iGPU (used for encoding/decoding without connection to monitor) and that also have dGPU with connection to monitor. Thanks since now! -
Hi. I have a problem that appeared after some Sonoma update. Specifically, after a while of the equipment being on but without activity, I notice that when I return to work with the equipment, the YouTube videos play intermittently, the video is intermittent but the sound continues. At first I thought it was a browser problem but it happens to me in all browsers. Then I started to notice that it also happened with the keyboard and mouse that respond with a delay. I thought the problem was related to the screen automatically turning off after a few minutes, but now I have it configured so that it does not turn off and despite this the problem persists. The only solution is a reboot. I have the version of Sonoma 14.4 with Opencore 0.9.9. My Smbios is iMac20.,1 because I have "headless" mode set since my CPU is an I7-10700K and I have a Shapphire RX570 video card. I will appreciate any help. Greetings!

For now, doing a quick pass, there are no errors Captura de pantalla 2023-11-07 a la(s) 17.48.02.zip

Hello MaLd0n. Thanks for your answer. The cable is new and the strange thing is that it is only taking time to assemble in Ventura and Sonoma... in both Windows 11 and Linux Mint it works perfectly. How could I see if there are disk errors on mac os? Thank you in advance!

Hi, I'm telling you about a problem I'm having lately: since I installed Sonoma cleanly on an nvme I'm having problems when I start the system with a 2 TB Toshiba HDD formatted in exfat that I use for data. This disk takes a while to mount... I have to wait about 15 minutes until it finally mounts itself and shows its folders and partitions in the Finder. I have this disk formatted in exFat because on the computer I have a second disk with a Ventura installation, a third disk with Windows 11 and a fourth disk with Linux Mint. All operating systems on separate disks. I use opencore 0.9.5 In Ventura I never had this problem, but since I installed Sonoma I have it in Ventura too. In Windows 11 and Linux Mint I have no problems and they recognize the disk perfectly. I don't know what it could be. Windows is configured at the Energy level so that it turns off the system, and so that Windows "releases" the disks and keeps them retained for us. SMART tests of the disk give it perfectly fine. I have run the Ventura disk manager (first aid) several times and nothing... I have an external USB drive also formatted in exFat that when I connect it, Mac OS recognizes it immediately, only this HDD gives me problems. I will appreciate any help you can guide me with.

Opencore. I solved it by resetting the NVRAM. Thanks!

Hi. I have Monterey 12.1 installed, with Opencore 0.7.7, and I don't see the option to upgrade to Monterey 12.2. My smbios is imac 20.1. Last time I was able to update without any problem from Monterey 12.0 to 12.1 but now the update does not appear, it only appears "your mac is up to date". The time is set automatically. I don't know what could be the problem. I also tried using RestrictEvents.kext and that didn't work either. I will appreciate your help.

@MaLd0n Thank you very much for your reply. I have been looking at the technical specifications of the smbios macpro7.1 and I see that it has a different processor than the i7-10700k. My question is if using these changes that you recommend, there will be a correct power management of the processor, since they are different. Thank you in advance.

Hi. I just put together a new hackintosh with this hardware: Intel i7-10700k Mother Gigabyte Z490 UD Sapphire RX570 (8gb) RAM: 32 Gb Kingstone Fury 3200 I configured the smbios as imac20.1 because it is the most similar to my hardware. I usually render with Davinci Resolve so I also configured the config.plist of my EFI (and the bios of the computer) with the headless mode. But I think that this change is the culprit that appTV and Netflix do not work well in Safari ... That is why I wanted to ask for your recommendation to select a switch that is as compatible as possible with this hardware and that allows Netflix and TV to work. Thanks!

@MaLd0n Thanks for your reply. Before opening this thread, I have tried following the steps in your video, but the problem I stumble upon is that for some strange reason the boot flag "uia_exclude = HS ... does not exclude (after system reboot) the ports that I configured to be bypassed, this way, I never get the USB3 ports out because they have no place because of the restriction of the 15 logical ports of mac. If I enable XhciPortLimit and restart, I achieve that more than 20 ports appear among them the USB3 (SS0x). But hackintool only recognizes me the USB3 devices that I connect. USB2 devices are not detected, not even by macOS. I suspect the USBInjetAll and XHCI-unsupported kexts ... maybe they have some incompatibility with my equipment, or they "get on badly" with some of the ssdts that I have in my EFI ... it is very strange ... The SSDTs I have are: SSDT-AWAC.aml SSDT-EC-USBX-DESKTOP.aml SSDT-PLUG-DRTIA.aml What I did was use an unorthodox method of mapping: with XhciPortLimit set to false, I mapped the USB2 ports and took a screenshot to remember what they were. I enabled XhciPortLimit and after rebooting map the USB3. And at this point I had to help myself with the screenshot and decide using a bit of logic which ports to leave and which to delete. Once done, I generated the kext on hahitool. At this moment the USB2 and USB3 ports work but I am aware that it is a "temporary" solution. I would appreciate it if you can guide me to find a way for my team to respond in a "normal" way so that I can follow the steps as described in your video. Thanks already!

Hi. I am setting up a new hackintosh with Monterey. My hardware is: Intel i7-10700k Mother Gigabyte Z490 UD Sapphire RX570 (8gb) RAM: 32 Gb Kingstone Fury 3200 The problem I have is that the computer does not recognize the USB3 devices. There is no problem with USB2 devices. Because of this I can't map the USB ports because when I connect a USB3 device it is as if nothing is connected ... Hackintool does not recognize it. In the EFI I have installed the kext USBInjectAll and XHCI-unsupported. I will greatly appreciate your help.

Problem with SecureBootModel (Monterey - Catalina)

Thanks for your answer. What do these parameters do? I ask you to learn a little more about OC. Thanks!
