With Opencore MOD/No_ACPI, I had changed LauncherOption = FULL to LauncherOption = DISABLE but there is no corresponding Misc -> Security -> AllowNvramReset to truly disable LauncherOption. Any help?

How to use OpenCore Legacy Patcher on Unsupported Mac
mengshi replied to MaLd0n's topic in Guides and Tutorials
Hi. Is this the only way to do this with OCLP with your .aml? I upgraded from Ventura (your .aml) using Apple's Sequoia installer. Then I tried this and it couldn't and gave the error because AMFI is active. In the process of making the installer using above method. Questions: 1. I'm using Broadcom WiFI. Is the steps to make this usable under Sequoia to be applied before or after OCLP patch? 2. How to get VT-d active with your .aml? Thanks. -
Working and thanks a million. . But seems like NVME can cause some issues. 1. NVME on PCI card - detected but can cause boot issues 2. on-board NVME - was working, tweaked something then causes monitor to tuen off during installation Airport detected by system but Wifi cannot be turned on. I think possibly USB set up issues as this PCI card takes power from USB port. Previously was working out of the box in other system.

SecureBoot disabled CSM disabled Intel LAN2 diabled Enabled 4D encoding Intel Virtualization on (Hardware Asus X99-E WS USB 3.1. Xeon E5-2667 V4 (Broadwell), ASUS RX5700) Basic KP at EXITBS:START Used your Olarila Ventura 13.6.4 .raw files and Balena Etcher to create USB. This motherboard has MSR 0xE2 unlock via a BIOS hack. Was wondering if the above motherboard: Asus x99-e ws usb 3.1 has been Hackintoshed? Quite an old board. Can support Xeon and ECC.

Can I confirm with you the Powercolor Red Devil RX580 8GB will work with Ventura? Thanks.

The force touch I have disabled. Overall working well. Was just persplexed whether you needed to do something to the dsdt as this Synaptics touchpad was supposed to use SMBus.
-
I was just wondering if further tweaking is needed. Checking the IOREG, it appears that the synaptics is using SMBUS. (Intertouch support = True). Screenshot 2023-06-05 at 11.49.22 AM.zip Does this information change anything that requires dsdt patching? (NB: I downaloded VOODOOSMBUS and VooDooRMI and install them based on the order suggested by the Article on EliteMac on VOODOORMI) but this results in trackpad not working. At the moment, using the voodoops2, Forcetouch does not work and the touch appear a little bit too sensitive. Multi gesture works.
-
The original touchpad was an Elan one using PS2. I thought you needed to patch the dsdt to make the new Synaptics I2C one work? Not needed? I'll try the VooDooi2c first. it does work currently using the VoodooPs2 but is too sensitive.

Got any issues with the zip file?

Any help here?

i. I did a few hardware mods on my T480s, the most different of which is I changed the original touchpad for the one on X1 Yoga Gen 3. It is glass and I think made by Synaptics. At the moment it seems to work well via the VoodooPS2.kext. Just working if the DSDT needs to be changed to optimize it. I also swap out the no backlit keyboard to the keylit one - the one annoying problem I notice is that the backloight will turn off after waking from sleep. Also I bought the Broadcom 94360NG wifi card for it and this I can confirm work out of the box. The Bluetooth can be toggled on and off without problem etc. It is perfect, so i have unchecked those unnecessary bluetooth.kext I think VooDooSMBus.kext requires the proper DSDT for this. I can't seem to get wake-on-lan to work on my installation (Z97 motherboard) ..... - Sleep works (meaning sleep to RAM. Hibernation mode is NONE in OpenCore) - BIOS ErP is disabled (Gigabyte motherboard) - System preference -> Energy saver -> Wake for Network access is ON. Power Nap is OFF Any help? I have tried using Fing as well as my Asus Router App on iOS. The magic packet is "sent" on the iOS device (iPhone) but the machine does not wake up. I am using OpenCore 0.8.2

1.) May I ask what is the "problem" with the B460 for it not to be in the usual recommended list as the H470 or Z490 ? (Both of these are rather hard to source where I live). A few points going forward .... 2) It is lacking the SPDIF header which I am using on my Z97 at the moment (ALC887 also) but for sound I am prepared to go the USB DAC route which in many ways is easier anyway. One can get really good quality USB DAC dongle cheap nowadays. 3) I don't think usage of Thunderbolt related devices are of any concern for me so spending more for the Z490 for these are pointless 4) Single M.2 is probably adequate. I rarely boot into Windows. 5) I will be "migrating" my perfect Z97-HD3 (Thanks MaLd0n for the great DSDT for this) with its RX580 and Wifi/BT PCI card over to this. I think should be not too difficult. Am I missing anything or will I be missing anything? 6) BTW, thinking of using the i3-10105..... or should I just get a used Xeon 1285L v4 in the Z97? It is about the same power (sort of) as the i3-10100 at 65W as well.........

This looks like the build I will be making as this motherboard is easier to find now. The M.2 stuff working?
-
@ MaLd0n You are absolutely right. Have gone back to your 2021 USB mapping method. The problem with my system is the Z97 which mixes the XHC and EHC stuff. The dsdt.aml you created for me was the Key as it got rid of the EHC stuff and left it with XHC. That solved the problem. Thanks! You're the man!

No. It works. As Rehabman described it "The effect is to route any USB2 devices attached to the USB2 pins on the XHC ports to EHC1. In other words, handle USB2 devices with the USB2 drivers instead of the USB3 drivers (AppleUSBEHCI vs. AppleUSBXHCI)." Tested it already. See the screenshot. It is the only way I found that got the 6 USB 3.0 ports under XHC with this series 9 motherboard. Any other methods it displays like the screenshot I showed in previous message. All 6 USB 3.0 work at correct speed. The USB 2.0 ports are under EHC and the only "problem" is that the devices are not shown in Hackintool but are shown in System Report. This method is unnecessary with motherboards newer than series 9 (I think.) Screenshot 2021-05-30 at 11.41.20 PM.png.zip Screenshot 2021-05-30 at 11.44.14 PM.png.zip

Sorry, this one didn't work correctly. I managed to get perfection by doing the following: Researched further and found that for the 9 series of chipset, I needed FakePCIID_XHCIMux.kext and FakePCIID.kext. My process to get perfection (on the Gigabyte H97-HD3 which has 4 physical USB 3.0 and 2 physical USB 2.0 at the rear, 2 USB 3.0 and 2 USB 2.0 at the front (from an onboard header)), Haswell CPU running as Mac Pro 7,1 1. Rename EHC1 to EH01; rename EHC2 to EH02, rename XHCI to XHC; rename XHC1 to XHC. 2. Initially untick XhciPortLimit 3. Remove USBInjectAll.kext . 4. Reboot . 5. Run corpnewt's USBMap script. This time all 6 SS ports show up numbered nicely 1-6, with USB 2.0 detected on EHC. Plug in a USB 3.0 to each port to register. 6. This time USBMap is correct. Just generate the kext and no need editing. 7. Pot the above USBMap.kext in the correct OC folder, re-tick XhciPortLimit and reboot. -------------------------- If I get you to generate a DSDT with the above current working setting, will it make sense? (Just to try to go the DSDT method). Below is the RunMe link generated with the above perfect setup. Thanks https://1drv.ms/u/s!AumDSEaF6xVbmV6gDLkKa7Rs5Q6I?e=Nonh3P
