  1. I don't understand this... Here's mine: codec-dump.txt.zip Your MD5: 9e68d5d638b1fbfdb3ec462bc50b149d My MD5: 9e68d5d638b1fbfdb3ec462bc50b149d WTF is going on lol.
  2. That's what I have done.. I just opened the configurator to see if it picked up the settings. Maybe I have installed Clover incorrectly. Once I installed Mavericks, I booted to desktop and ran the Clover installer using these options: Then I copied your kexts to S/L/E, replaced the config.plist, added the DSDT.aml, added the HFSPlus-64.efi and deleted the Vbox, added Shell64U.efi to tools and added the MBP plist. I also patched the graphics control to prevent black screen. I am not sure what else I have done wrong? One thing I would note... When the EFI chains to clover, I get the flashing '|' in the top right, but I have to press enter to load clover. Then there are two options... The Mavericks partition and another .. something like UEFI from hard drive... Have I installed clover incorrectly? EDIT: Kextstat output.. 82 1 0xffffff7f82168000 0x1a000 0x1a000 com.apple.driver.AppleHDAController (2.6.3f4) <81 76 11 7 6 5 4 3 1> 109 0 0xffffff7f822d0000 0x94000 0x94000 com.apple.driver.AppleHDA (2.6.3f4) <108 106 91 82 81 76 6 5 4 3 1> 110 0 0xffffff7f82164000 0x2000 0x2000 com.apple.driver.AppleHDAHardwareConfigDriver (2.6.3f4) <4 3> I see this in the log: Is it the same?
  3. I've had a look at some logs and config files.... Here is the boot log: http://pastebin.com/fDQi8Z92 Here is the install log (after reinstalling this morning): http://pastebin.com/JJR7FwSA Here are some screenshots of the clover configurator after mounting EFI partition: http://imgur.com/u3v3VDq http://imgur.com/zzcJ35q http://imgur.com/4zvtrJm http://imgur.com/hvpeapZ http://imgur.com/V87JcnH http://imgur.com/IWq2fRs http://imgur.com/Hmx0fQd http://imgur.com/I9NoZHU http://imgur.com/N2T5jMD http://imgur.com/vIbD5xf http://imgur.com/yAqvCYE To me, the clover configurator looks distinctly devoid of any settings.... also, there is a line in the boot log at the end... "19:392 0:000 FSInjection: skipping kext injection (not requested)" How does this compare to yours? I do not think Clover is picking up my config settings properly, hence the issues with audio.
  4. Hrm... frustrating... I have replaced the DSDT but still no audio... Yes, I shut down completely. I even removed the battery and power cable for 10 seconds. I also tried removing the AppleHDAAL kext. No change. I will boot into Windows and use AIDA64 to get dev ID's to compare. EDIT: Odd.... it seems to be detected... But no sound....
  5. Nice, looks like a slight multicore increase to look forward to. I replaced the AppleHDA.kext with the one you linked to, but still no luck I didn't make any DSDT edits that were suggested because I thought you would have already done those? Plus whenever I try to edit a DSDT it fails to compile :-/ Do I need to remove the AppleHDAALC269.kext when using this AppleHDA? I had a thought... I replaced the wifi card with a better one some time back that is actually from a MBP.. Do you think this may be causing a conflict? I know it's not likely but thought I would ask. It's this: Atheros AR5008X Wireless Network Adapter PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0024&SUBSYS_0087106B&REV_01 It's not a perfect fit because it's not half height, but it has MUCH better performance than the one that comes with the G73SW because it can use the 5GHz band. I tend to grab content on my hack first and sort it, then send it off to my NAS.
  6. Yes you are right, it was lost. I have replaced it but no audio... I am going to try rebooting in a sec after deleting caches. Btw, my backlit keys have started working.... I am very pleased. I did a quick Geekbench score in 64-bit... it took 2 mins 13 seconds, does this look similar to what you get? EDIT: Still no sound... I refuse to fall at the last hurdle Could our dev ID's be different? Or is there something else here that I am missing?
  7. I am trying to get it working on Mavericks to start, when I get this working I will move to Yosemite. I already have a partition set aside for this. The battery meter and the wifi work fine. I will have a look at the AppleHDAALC269... I cannot remember if I transferred it on an NTFS key drive... where is the symbolic link, and where does it point to? I can always download your zip again and reinstall. I'll report back in a bit. Thanks for the help so far.
  8. I am using your config.plist, and your kexts.... I am also using your DSDT so the edit should be in there. I am also using the PS2 from your package, but no backlit keys. I really don't understand why Asus SUCK so much. How can the same model with the same components, same DSDT and same files, 'just not work' :-/ Shame you aren't located near me, I'd buy you a bottle and a crate to take a quick look!
  9. Thanks, iv'e removed the SSD for now. I have tried to install again on a spare drive using all the files that you have posted, and am 99% there... I do not have backlit keyboard (but at this point I am not too worried) and I still do not have sound... I do not understand why if our sound cards and DSDTs are the same, why this is not working? Plus with clover's 'automatic' detection, I was hoping this would work. Do you use Clover in EFI mode or MBR mode? I am trying with EFI mode at the moment, but I understand that it 'should' make no difference? Where do I start to begin to diagnose these issues... so very strange :-/
  10. That's a shame. Having said that, it doesn't work too well in windows either. You can select either the speakers or sub but not both. The only thing it seems to work 'ok' in is Linux with a kernel of 3.13 or higher. This laptop is a bit of a pain in the rear. I used your clover Kexts but I get no audio. Something must be different between our models. I've never known models of laptop vary so much. There's someone on insanely who says he's got pretty much everything working, even varying backlight levels for the keyboard. I've never had that, bummer. if I use the Kexts posted there, I get none of the things he has working, and Kexts that seem to work for others like applesmartbattery either don't work for me or gives a kp. I wish I knew a bit more about dsdts. I might be able to fix it. Another thing that I have noticed is that performance really sucks in mavericks. I have a ssd installed and it's about 2 mins to the desktop. Not even windows is that slow. Linux is 10 seconds, but linux has crappy apps, desktops and no quick look and lack of a decent search indexing service. All things I would want/need.
  11. That's great, thanks. I'll make sure I do that. Has the sub woofer started working for you by any chance? I would love it if sleep on low battery worked also.
  12. Nice I'll give it a go, thank you. EDIT: Sorry could I be a pain in the rear and ask you to attach your 10.9.4 kexts as well? I'm still on 10.9.2. I checked the thread on Insanely, but they don't seem to have got to 10.9.4 either.
  13. You seem to have had better luck with me on this laptop. Have you had any luck with the Yosemite Public Beta?
  14. Thank you I will give these a go!
  15. I've given up with clover for now and am using this guide: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/293593-g73sw-mav-109-install/
  16. Hi again, Now I have my Asus up and running with Mavericks and Clover, I am trying to iron out the kinks. I don't know if a lot of this is possible, but you don't know until you post I am pretty much out of my depth with the rest of this so maybe you guys can help. I am trying to get the OS running with as little modification to kexts as possible, and with as little alternations to S/L/E as possible. Some of this may not be possible/realistic, but you don't know until you ask. Here is my spec: Asus G73SW i7-2630QM HM65 Mobo 12GB RAM ALC269 Audio Realtek Ethernet (81xx will double check exact model) Atheros 9285 Wifi Nvidia GTX 460M OS: Mavericks Bootloader: Clover r2236 Kexts in S/L/E: VoodooHDA Kexts in Clover/Kexts: AppleACPIPS2Nub.kext, AppleHDADisabler.kext, AsusNBWMI.kext, FakeSMC.kext, FrescoUSBxHCI.kext, GenericUSBXHCI.kext, RealtekRTL81xx.kext, VoodooBattery.kext, VoodooPS2Controller.kext, VoodooPS2Keyboard.kext, VoodooPS2Mouse.kext, VoodooPS2Trackpad.kext What's working: Ethernet (Kext), Wifi ( Clover FakeID to Atheros 002A), Bluetooth (Clover), Some of the FN Keys (Kext), Sleep/Wake (Clover), Shutdown (Clover), USB3 (Kext), GPU with Full CI/QE (Clover) (Also using Fermi freezefix), Audio (VoodooHDA at the moment) What's not working: Backlit keys, Lid sleep, Brightness Control, Battery icon, iMessage, Youtube playback in Safari and Firefox (green distorted video (chrome works fine though) have been told this is to do with new AV Foundation codecs?) Notes: Clover is set up to extract the DSDT and SSDTs and patch on the fly. DSDT/SSDT has not been added. What I am trying to change (if possible): 1. Find a dev and vendor ID that I can insert into clover that will allow the Realtek Ethernet to run using native kexts 2. Get the battery icon working without the need to replace the AppleACPI kext, but maybe patch it on the fly from within clover? Ie. apple update 'resistant' 3. Find a dev and vendor ID for an Nvidia card (Maybe the 640M?) to use with FakeID in clover to allow native AGPM for the 460M card 4. Any way to get native audio using clover's kext patching? At the moment, AppleHDADisabler is in clover kext folder to allow VoodooHDA and be update 'resistant' 5. Any other points that people here may think is relevant Thank you in advance
  17. I have it! Drop MCFG. Boots now Thanks to both of you for your help. Little pic for those who have the same issue.
  18. Yes it works with chameleon, I can get mavericks up and running, the problem is just getting it working with clover. I have a fully working 10.8.5 with chameleon also, and I get the same problem when switching to clover. Just trying to figure out what part of the config I have done wrong.
  19. Hrm... yes that would seem to be what I have. I just checked the multipliers and they are either x8 or x26 nothing in between.

This is with the disabler.kext in..... :S
  21. With the disabler.kext it will boot with and without dropping the SSDT info. It's once I take the disabler out that I get the problem. Without the disabler, I have to use the AsusAICPM flag and either provide SSDT or ask clover to generate SSDT info (or get a panic), and then I cannot get to the desktop anymore :/ So much for clover being a big auto-detecting genius... I'm thinking of just sticking with Enoch.
  22. I am booting off another USB stick for now (because I have multiple partitions on the drive with ML as well) but yes, to start with I copied the EFI folder from the Olarila USB EFI partition. It will boot fine, with CI/QE enabled... because it has the disabler.kext. It's only once I start trying to mess with it a bit, ie. get stepping working. It's defining it as a Macbook Pro 8,3.
  23. Here is my config file: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>Boot</key> <dict> <key>Arguments</key> <string>-v npci=0x2000</string> <key>Log</key> <false/> <key>XMPDetection</key> <string>Yes</string> </dict> <key>ACPI</key> <dict> <key>DSDT</key> <dict> <key>Debug</key> <false/> <key>ReuseFFFF</key> <false/> <key>DropOEM_DSM</key> <false/> </dict> <key>SSDT</key> <dict> <key>DropOem</key> <true/> <key>Generate</key> <dict> <key>PStates</key> <true/> <key>CStates</key> <true/> </dict> </dict> </dict> <key>Devices</key> <dict> <key>USB</key> <dict> <key>Inject</key> <true/> <key>FixOwnership</key> <true/> </dict> </dict> <key>KernelAndKextPatches</key> <dict> <key>AsusAICPUPM</key> <true/> </dict> <key>GUI</key> <dict> <key>Theme</key> <string>iclover</string> <key>Mouse</key> <dict> <key>Enabled</key> <false/> </dict> <key>Scan</key> <true/> </dict> <key>SystemParameters</key> <dict> <key>InjectKexts</key> <true/> </dict> </dict> </plist> Am I missing something obvious? I have spent the majority of the afternoon trying to figure this out, and I just can't see what I am missing.
  24. It probably is a configuration issue, I am still learning. I removed the Asus AICPM entry from the config.plist and patched the AICPM instead using the tool in that link, but I get a panic on that kext now :-/ EDIT: I've been looking through the Clover documentation, and it looks like for Nvidia cards, that it pretty much auto detects them. If I go to the options on the clover boot screen, it looks like it has detected the GTX 460M, I don't know if I should be altering anything else here? Just seems odd... the Olarila USB stick boots to the desktop with full CI/QE, it obviously just disables the AICPM at the same time.
  25. I removed the AICPM lines from the disabler.kext, Now it appears to hang after: Sound assertion in AppleHDAController at line 486 It is not completely frozen, I can still input key presses. There are quite a few Nvidia lines in the disabler, I tried removing those as well but no luck. It would be worth noting that I can get Mavericks to boot when using Chameleon. It seems to be something specifically related to clover. I also had the same issue with 10.8, I could boot with Chameleon (using DSDT, SSDT, VoodooHDA etc) but with just one change (Clover) I got a black screen.
