Hi, sorry for no updates on this, I got hit by ransomware on win-doze, luckily all my data is on loo nix ext4 drives that are always unplugged. Had to start from scratch. I am just posting this after installing Mac OS. Be back after installing windows. Have streamlined the installation even more. Much more smoother and responsive on just a rust bucket hdd. Yet to test out sleep. I had issues like the system being so slow it sucked big time. Also on the list is cpu friend. then I am done with the setup. I cannot try out the CFG Lock method. I did dump the bios from Lenovo but in the end, all I got was a demo value from it. Opencore refused to use the value in grub shell.efi citing that it would harm my system. As for the frame buffer. It has to be checked per system. Yup, we can't just thrown in the values RehabMan has given. In my case DVTM realloc in windows was 128mb. This meant that fb-mem for me had no setting. It had to be set to <00 00 00 00> A single value there lead to my kernel panic. Even commenting it out leads to a kp. Further, Universal frame buffer can be used but will cause a panic only during the second phase of installation. I can set the value to <00 00 00 80> and this gives me 2048MB reported in system reports. If I don't set it, it shows the default 1536MB VRAM. I had to learn how to "hex" and reverse it to find a decimal value. Based on the cpu stats(not from intel ark, they don't provide this info), the max memory of the chip is just 32MB, which translates to <00 00 30 00> while rehab man's value is <00 00 30 01> for stolen memory. Even 1 MB over this value will cause a kernel panic. I tested a few values and Rehabman's value is the max for stolen memory. I finally discovered that my fb-mem should be zero after using Hackintool within VMware. If not, I might have been stuck in the loop forever. On more question. I found a SSDT-Olarila.aml for Skylake systems here. I have no idea what it is for?

@MaLd0n I got it to work. On sandy bridge it was audio while here it was video that drove me nuts. The same code is shared everywhere by everyone from Rehabman. But this needs a litte tweak especially if you can't change your DVMT in bios and if your bios allocates more than 64mb already. You can see this in Windows graphics properties. I will write in detail and update the post here as well as post a guide here for this laptop model. Everything works except wifi (intel). Increasing the frame buffer after installation helps a lot more. But first I need some sleep.

@MaLd0n, I need some help with this. Desperately stuck with no solution to this issue. I am trying to install Mojave using opencore. I have followed the guide for Skylake systems. My issues are 2 fold. First is the kernel panic. I have attached the screenshot of it. Its related to AppleIntelSKLGraphics.kext. I have followed various combinations of the guide just to get into the system but I end up getting a kp. The kp happens on the second boot during installation. I can boot into the installer just fine. The files get copied and the installer reboots and then I am presented with the kernel panic. At the installer screen, I can even use an external monitor via dvi to hdmi cable. yet once installation begins and restarts to continue the process, it give a kp. I have tried the DVMT Patches in Config.plist and I still can't the panic to go away. If I follow the default recommendation of opencore to not add anything to plist, I can boot to the installer but the installation is slow as described below. I am attaching my efi folder zipped and the images of the kernel panic. Second, if I use a device id for Graphics, the installer will take an eternity.... it shows 1h and 45 minutes to complete install but after 1 hour it just hangs. The progress is painfully slow. My system specs are: Lenovo ideapad 110 15ISK. Intel i3 6006U Intel HD 520 graphics. 4gb ram 128gb SSD in primary slot with Windows 10 on it 128gb SSd in ODD using a caddy, to which I am installing Mojave. NO DVMT settings in the BIOS. Sorry for not replying. Was busy over the last few days. Will try all this tomorrow and let you know. Yes, even I thought of deleting amp and delay test. We are on the same track on this one. Also for noise reduction, I have changed verb codecs slightly ...will give details and link when I post back again. Too late now and just happened to see this notification in my email
-
Yup seems to be the case everywhere. I will still search for it. AM trying to get mic working with ambient noise reduction and the slider for external mic. All this while had no access to external mic. Got one yesterday, am gonna check it Btw, I have noticed a little clipping sound which happens only when wearing headphones. Any idea why? It happens only when the ampdelay set in the layout.xml has a value assigned to it. By default it is 100 and on macbooks it is 150. It just clips when the 150ms delay comes into effect. So when the delay is active, it will clip just 150ms when sound is about to start and 150ms after the sound stops.
-
@Mirone: Do you have the link to the Verb Cheat Sheet? I can't find a working link anywhere. If you can please help me out with it. I am going to patch my applehda again following your guide and am goin to include the ambient noise selection for mic in this edit. Lets see how it works. Am getting choppy sound on mavericks (even though it works flawlessly on logicpro and pro tools).
-
Cool, I always wondered why the guide said layout id 12. I thought that something fixed. Its good to know. I edited the applehda kext so it is the new 10.8.4 version. now I can boot with kernel and kext caches. Finally my SSD is put to good use. I will try with other layoutid to test this out.
-
Forgive me, but I think I didn't quite understand this right. By native you mean that the layout id must exist inside the resources folder? that means that as long as we can edit any layout inside the resources folder it should work? because right now in Mountain lion even I am on layout id 12.
-
Hi Mirone, Was reading the document you linked the other day. It jsut hit me, we use layout id 12 for idt 111d7605 right? Now how do I know which layout to use for any other device? Or do we just use layoutid 12 for anything we wanna edit?
-
@Mirone, Thanks man. Its a good read. Simple language and easy to understand at least from the first 2-3 pages. Haven't read it completely though. Time to sleep now
-
So the active nodes are all thats needed... good to know. Yeah Toleda jsut explained it in detail. Very noob friendly. However, everyhwere else if you see, the edit is to get rid off the line with 0205 completely ...thats why I couldn't get it to work before. Even on osxlatitude website, the edit called for 08 00 00 00 06 00 ....whereas in case of toledas page, there is no need for 06 00. just leave it at 07 00. The part I am still trying to understand is this "EDPD would 01570c02" ???? I would love to help out. See ya around PS: My username over at insanely is Ghajini08. Lol ... been around so long. Still have my old Pentium 4 running 10.5.8. Most stable system ever. Something that was built with XP in mind crashed everyday. With leopard its never crashed once in so many years. My school system

Hi Mirone, I am using Intel HD 3000 onboard only. The AMD 6490M is a no go. I tried to get it working, but this horrible hp insyde bios won't let me dump the bios. Tried every method possible. Fianlly used the phoenix bios tool. Unfortunately, the dump comes up with errors. Its completely locked down. have a post about this on im but this card is not going to work. So I stick with hd 3000 only. Logicpro works fine with it so no problems for with hd 3000. Changed my famebuffers around a bit today but no luck with hdmi audio.
-
Hi, Yes, I used the kext + dsdt you sent me. Same as before. Everything works except maybe external mic and HDMI Audio. The console log I posted above is the output I got after playing around with the guide you pointed me to. I a "Sound assertion" in the log an error or sign that something is workinggPS: After editing the kext with other nodeids ... now I have headphone sound but nothing else. Am going back to your kext. Just need HDMI Audio working.

EDIT 2 Hi Mirone, I followed your guide today since its a holiday. Upon understanding my verbs I decided to edit platform.xml and play around a bit. Previously while booting, my console log would show a sound assertion at line 17531 ...after edit it shows this now. try this: http://www.sendspace.com/file/lpuflr Hi Mirone, I tried the kext, but no HDMI Audio still. Now all other audio works too. No more sudden loss of sound. Logicpro works fine too. Just HDMI Audio is not working. EDIT: FOrgot to ask, but remember in the previous post I attached my codecgraph folder. Well inside it there are 2 codecdumps right. One is the IDT audio and one is intel cougar point 80862805. Does this have any effect on the audio or video?

Hi @Mirone, I noticed you are a bit busy on the other applehda thread. However, I would really like to fix my hdmi audio. Now I just wanted to let you know that the VerbsCheat Sheet link no longer working. I have patched my applehda using the one you provided me for 10.8.2 as a base and now I no longer have audio loss when my system turns off incompletely due to power failure. I am just having trouble understanding the Verbit part of the process. Any explanation would be of help to me. Especially, are we supposed to use the default verbs or the modified ones? Also the pin complex part is a bit complex. I am beginning to understand this entire process so it would be of great help if any member like you can help me understand that part. This guide is really helpful. otherwise I have to open both the procedure performed by mickey1979 and the other on im to do the whole process.

check this link out. I hope I am not breaking forum rules by posting links. ALC889 on desktop is usually easy to get working. http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/289782-help-no-sound-on-alc889/

Hello @Mirone, Any idea with my hdmi audio? I tried playing around with connector info today. I had to remove dvi from the table....after that no graphic-glitches! however, when I add VGA liek the way Revogirl(RIP) had mentioned, My TV mimics the exact screen size of my laptop...so wasted screen space. Even with all this, no HDMI Audio ..I am beginning to feel it has to do with the other stereo audio node number 14.
-
Hi @Mirone, I have attached all the needed files with this post. Hope this helps you out. I have Insyde BIOS on HP. Thanks for your help. I have also attached my edid extract just in case... since I mentioned the artifacts wouldn't go away even with custom edid. http://www.sendspace.com/file/4ld8d2
-
I have Insyde BIOS. I think its different than AMI or Award. I have unpacked bios file.... will run phoenix bios tool again to confirm it. Gimme a while, I will post the link here when I get home from work.

Hi Mirone, its been a while since you asked me about the dual-link so here goes. 1) I did the dual-link DSDT edit ...copied it from DSDT for probook 4530 as most of the stuff is the same (except audio ) :- I get the same reuslt. ... A grey screen always happens with dual-link edit for me. Solution to this was to just remove the line for dual-link and leave the graphics-id and platform-id in the DSDT edit. Now I have full HDMI Video.... scaling works too no hanging on mirroring too. 2) After 10.8.4, I get funny red selection box on anything pictures or icons in my system. Don't know why. mostly happens on thumbnails only. 3) Patched my EDID to get a custom one by using monitor id and entechtaiwans monitor utility. Its a different backlight display compared to other HP models it seems. 4) HDMI Audio is not working I tried with windows and it works .... maybe I need to patch another node in my platform.xml?? I saw another node 14 (working audio one is 13, if you remember on dv6) which also is stereo out. 5) Even after EDID fix, I still get graphic glitches on and off? Its weird, dunno why. Any ideas on hdmi audio fix? I tried patching snbgraphics.kext but the old and new output is exactly the same ...following the thread on this forum. and bcc9. Please help me out and thanks for your help till date. If you need any files for reference, let me know. I have saved everything from my codecverbs to the edid details file.
-
Hi Mirone, Okay, so I updated to 10.8.4 over the weekend. But HDMI still hangs. When I select "Mirroring" bam! The system freezes. Nothing after that. HAve to hard reset. Still I am hopeful. I don't know how you got HDMI working, been searching for a guide on it for a while now. Also if I select "Scaled resolution" ...it hangs .... unless I select 800x600 in which case it won't. Its weird. If this gets done, I will have an almost perfect hackintosh thanks to you except of course the AMD 6490M. PS: I got the 6490M to show up with "EFI" in system profiler using Nomascus framebuffer and booting with Clover EFI.
-
Yes I did. Used the Kexts you sent and the DSDT too. HDMI works. Its just that the system freezes once I select Mirroring. I wonder why that happens.
-
Hi Mirone, I tried the kext and Yes HDMI does work, but the minute I select "mirroring" bam, the screen jsut freezes. I have no idea why this happens. Do I need some DSDT patch or something?
