I detected that the problem was with my Samsung PM991 SSD. I bought a new SSD and successfully installed Hackintosh Sonoma without issues. However, there's one problem: while Hackintosh is installed on a different drive, when I clean the separate drive where Windows is installed (essentially uninstalling Windows), Hackintosh fails to boot and gets stuck on the Apple logo. It seems I need to have Windows installed alongside Hackintosh for it to boot properly. Is there a fix for this issue?

Yes, that's probably it. You should probably check all the requirements of a hackintosh before proceeding in the future.

I don't know, man, sorry. But if you find a solution, please publish it here! 🙂 This is because I don't even have the device anymore, so it doesn't really matter to me. I have switched to a Lenovo ThinkPad T490 fron that i3 plastic crap laptop. The plastic was literally deteriorating day-by-day on that piece of crap.

I used the 1.0.1_r7 EFI to add -v in the boot-args in the NVRAM section of the config.plist, as you suggested. However, when I boot from the SSD bootable media, it doesn’t display any verbose errors. Instead, it makes a sound and then reboots directly back to Windows.

I’ve attached the config.plist file and a video of the process I followed below for your reference. Please remove the .zip extension to access them.

    Edit:

I successfully booted with the GUI after updating my BIOS to the latest version, EMCN60WW. Here's the requested screenshots. I'm also facing the issue where it get stuck in Apple logo with blank progress bar.

    Edit 2:

I recently installed an additional SSD alongside my NVMe drive and set up Windows on the new SSD, including all drivers and updates. I came across a site suggesting that installing Windows first is necessary for a Hackintosh setup, and this approach worked for me. After setting this up, I was able to get past the Apple logo with the blank progress bar and successfully format the NVMe drive as APFS, which allowed me to complete an online installation of macOS Sonoma.

However, I've encountered a new issue: a prohibited sign logo appears. I’m still using the 1.0.1_r7 EFI configuration.

I am sorry, but I can't help you with this. I suggest you try to find a fix for yourself and introducing it here would be appreciated.

Hi, thanks for the information. I followed the tutorial in the video you provided step by step. However, I've run into another issue. When I boot from the bootable SSD I created, there's no interface displayed, although I do hear a sound when it boots from the USB. I initially used version 1.0.1_r7 EFI, but it didn’t work. I also tried using 1.0.1_r6 EFI, but that didn’t work either. Can you please help me resolve this?

Add -v in boot-args in NVRAM section of Config.plist using OC Auxiliary Tools. Then send screenshot of the verbose error when booting. Wait as long as you can until no more errors come and then you take screenshot. You can take screenshot with phone camera.

I'm new to hackintoshing and I've run into an issue. I recently purchased a used IdeaPad 3-15IIL05 and am attempting to install macOS on it using a bootable Toshiba external SSD. I created the bootable drive with Olarilla's Vanilla Sonoma raw file and Balena Etcher, including the v1.0.1_r6 EFI.

The system boots normally, but I'm facing problems formatting the partition. Every time I try to format it as APFS, the system reboots, and Disk Utility shows it as macOS Extended (Journaled) upon restart. I managed to format it as APFS after multiple attempts.

However, during the macOS installation process, the system reboots around 70% completion. When I try to reinstall, the same thing happens. Can you help me troubleshoot this?

DISCLAIMER: PLEASE READ EVERYTHING BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO HACKINTOSH YOUR IDEAPAD OR ANY MACHINE FOR THAT MATTER!

I've never faced the issue with APFS formatting, but am guessing that it's a fault with the drive and/or the Olarila Sonoma raw file. I reccomend you retry by watching this video here with some extra notes which are to get the OpenCorePkg Release from here, check the "List USB external hard drives" option in the "Show advanced drive properties" drop-down menu inside Rufus tool, extract my EFI (not theirs) alongside the com.apple.recovery.boot folder, and setup the WI-Fi in the installer before attempting to try any other operation in the installer from the top panel. Anyway, here's the video:

Oh, and one VERY IMPORTANT thing to know is that it's absolutely expected to reboot at ~70% during the installation. All you have to do is reboot to the USB drive and manually boot the new option called "macOS Installer." Do this each time your machine reboots until it gets to the setup screen of macOS Sonoma

I feel that ALL of this should be something for everybody to note if they're trying to hackintosh their machine.

    Still wont work mate,

Btw i dont have wifi adapter or active iphone unit atm.

But tried my account on other mac pc and its working on imessage and facetime without any error,

Can someone have any idea or experience how to fix this ? Its been month already tried fresh install

Just use GenSMBIOS from github by downloading the zip from master branch and keep generating SMBIOS and keep checking with apple coverage. If it says that the serial number isn't valid, just keep repeating and at one point, you will get your SMBIOS. Also make sure to take a screenshot of it right away after you checked that it is a real SMBIOS.

I am having trouble booting the EFI from the SSD. When it is loading the OS it freezes with 0%. I can boot fine from the USB. Thank you for this EFI BTW.

Open Config.plist and add the boot-arg "-v" to the boot-args section in NVRAM. Do this with OCAT OpenCore tool or whatever you use. After that, try booting from the SSD again. By the way, which macOS version are you using? Oh, and make sure to send a video of the verbose/logs when booting from SSD.

  8. Here it is for macOS Big Sur to Sonoma! PLEASE READ EVERYTHING BELOW BEFORE USE!

    CLICK ME TO DOWNLOAD OPENCORE

To download the EFI on GitHub, all you have to do is click "Source code (zip)" under the assets section and you're ready to go!

Everything works except for HDMI, for Wi-Fi in macOS Sequoia 15 you need to use HeliPort. On macOS Big Sur to Sonoma, it is built in to macOS.

Also, it is reccomended that you use the YogaSMC app for the best experience out of this Lenovo laptop!

Always check back for updates in my GitHub every 3 or so days. You'll be able to see the update(s) in the GitHub commits or the releases/tags.

Furthermore, if you don't know the difference between OpenCore and OpenCore MOD; it is that the MOD version can boot into other operatings systems except for macOS without injecting the Hackintosh stuff to them.

Please donate to me on Ko-Fi if you really appreciate my work ??! Any amount would be so beneficial to me! CLICK HERE TO DONATE!

Please pin and star this topic?? @MaLd0n. It is very useful!

  9. The title says everything! I got a ThinkPad T490 and tried to hackintosh but kept getting this error in OpenCore 1.0.1 with macOS Sequoia installer. I don't know how to fix it and have never dealt with anything such as this in the past. If anybody is willing to help; thank you!

When I turn on my Lenovo S145, the boot always fails, for an unknown reason the laptop selects the "OpenCore" boot option.

To start the laptop properly on MacOS, I need to press F12 and select "EFI Hard Drive (KINGSTON...)", otherwise, the laptop choose "OpenCore" option and the boot didn't work and the laptop is restarted.

I try to put a new files on the EFI folder on mu NVME, but the behaviour presists.

How can I remove the "OpenCore" option from boot?

Alright, try my EFI and tell me how it works! Make sure you have Intel Wi-Fi or native Wi-Fi! And also make sure your macOS is Big Sur to Sonoma! Here it is! Also make sure to use your own SSDT with SSDTTime!

Maybe you should try this EFI instead: https://github.com/valnoxy/t420-oc. I reccomend using macOS Big Sur or Ventura; but you can use any you want! Before even booting to the installer, you first have to make new SSDT files with https://github.com/corpnewt/SSDTTime. When you have generated all the SSDT files for your system, just zip it and find a way to send it to me, then don't follow the instructions that I've provided below; but you don't have to if you want to do it on your own. Make sure to enable a Quirk named AppleDebug in Booter > Debug and add the boot-arg "-v" and "debug=0x100 in NVRAM > 7C436110-AB2A-4BBB-A880-FE41995C9F82 > boot-args inside the config.plist. This will enable verbose mode, which will allow you to see error logs when booting. That's it for now!

Hey dude. i've tried your files you shared but there is no install MacOS section in OpenCore menu. What should i do ?

You probably didn't make a macOS Sonoma installer USB. If you're on Windows or macOS, just get the Olarila Vanilla Image for Sonoma here (make sure it is the latest image, I reccomend to get it from MediaFire). You can flash this image to your USB Flash Drive or Hard Drive with balenaEtcher! If that does not work; don't delete all this progress, just redownload the EFI to your ESP.

    Thank you

Set boot mode to UEFI and set disk to AHCI. Also, don't forget to disable Secure Boot. You have to make all these changes to the BIOS by pressig F2 after pressing the power button to turn on.
